We stayed at View at Surfers Beach for 6 nights in January 2018. Immediately we ran into a problem with this rental. The arrival information that was sent to us about meeting the person who would take us to the property was incorrect. The information stated where to meet, and even enjoy a complimentary cocktail to start our vacation. The meeting place was not only closed but boarded shut! At 4:00, our arrival time, the time stated in the arrival info, we had no person to greet us or take us the house as stated on the info page. We were stranded in Gregory Town with only the name of Franco (the caretaker) as our one piece of information. We went from shop to shop to restaurant to bar looking for someone who could find the caretaker called "Franco." But our biggest complaint is that I also called and email the owner, Eric Dangler, over and over for hours as we wandered all through the town. We were able to find the house on our own hoping to find it either open for us, or that the owner would have the caretaker there to meet us. No one was there, no one showed up and the place was locked. It was now several hours later and it was dark. No return calls and no keys to get in. We returned to town (GT) and had dinner. No return calls. Finally we had no choice but to rent a room for our first night (at the Surfers Manor for $132.00) in what should have been View at Surfers Beach. We paid for our hotel room and settled in for the night, using the room and its facilities. Later that evening while walking up to the main lobby of Surfers Manor we met, by accident, Franco who finally located us. We explained that due to the late hour and more importantly we already used the room (that we paid for and could not honestly request a refund) we would take the keys and go to View at Surfers Beach ourselves the next morning.
Our complaint is not that mixups happen, but that we had no contact that night other than one brief email in the evening to say France was probably on his way or at the house,. No apologies, no concern for our scrambling. No response the next day or EVER from the owner. After calling the owner numerous times once we got home we received NO emails, NO return phone calls from the owner, Eric Dangler. That is just poor business manners.
While there all electric wall outlets did not work, twice.
The house is very simply, and basically stocked for example 2 towels only. No beach towels. 1 kitchen hand towel.
It was clean.
