We spent a week here with our family (parents, adult child/spouse with infant, teenager). After spending a great deal of time searching for the # of bedrooms, location, parking, and layout (no open stairs, etc. for the baby). The Shackley House met all our criteria and we are so happy to have found it. The property management folks are thorough and there are some extra steps to complete upon booking. We didn't receive the check-in email until the day we checked in but still received it in plenty of time, along with a lot of helpful information and instructions. We found the electronic locks a little tricky at first but it didn't take long to figure them out. Home was clean and as pictured. Neighborhood was quiet and walkable- there is a neighbor dog that would bark from inside when we came and went but it never bothered us. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, dinnerware, pots/pans and drinkware. We were able to cook several meals and even used the grill. We brought a gate to place in front of the TV to keep our grandchild from pulling up/playing with cords and brought our own outlet covers. It was easy to place decorations up out of reach. We played some of the card games, the game room was enjoyable and we had several fires in the fire pit. A couple of the cornhole bags had holes in them but we played anyway. Downtown and its great restaurants/bars and Lake Muskegon are a short walk away. The big lake and state parks were a short drive. Highly recommend staying!
