Thank you so much for taking time to add this review Rebecca. Hope to have you back soon!
Great home but needs updates!
The blinds in the house are old and afraid to open them. Cabinets in the kitchen need to be repaired as they open after you open them! The washer will not stay open because it hits the cabinet. The internet goes out a lot. The front room tv should be updated!
All in all, beautiful view and very clean!
I could sit on that deck all day watching the world go by.
We recently stayed at this property and I can tell you, we really felt "at home" here. The deck and view are just like a moving postcard, was entertaining watching the surfers from early morning until sundown, we even were lucky enough to catch a pod of dolphins swimming by their side one afternoon. The house has that Brady Bunch house feel, sure it could use some updating, but it's very clean and has a lot of the rustic wood charm. It's central to an area called D Street that has everything you would need, restaurants, shops, bars, liquor stores, etc.. We did cook a few times and found the kitchen to have just about all the spices, oils and dishware that was needed. A few doors down is a set of stairs that led down the Cliffside to the beach when its low tide, we walked for miles looking at the lovely homes and other beaches nearby. There was much to see in the general area, providing you have a vehicle. It was nice not to be in the craziness of a larger city area. We traveled with another couple and we both felt like we had our privacy. We didn't run into any issues with the property to need to contact management, but they were very easy and pleasant to deal with throughout the booking and follow up once back home. The home is pretty much what you see on the photo's, no negative surprises awaiting you.
Thank you Jill for taking the time to write this review. Let me know when you want to come back, Chris*
My Mom rented this house for a vacation last spring, and my husband and I drove down to meet my parents there.
There is something special about this home - the views are to die for, and the home itself is 'above and beyond' other vacation rental homes. Lots of care and attention to detail, and there wasn't a single thing missing. Sometimes when you rent a vacation rental home, the place isn't all that well equipped with basic things like tin foil, TP, soap or what have you. Not so with this home.
You arrive here after a long drive or flight and feel 'right at home' for a good few days before feeling like you need to go shopping for anything. Basic spices are in the kitchen, and anything you might need seems to be covered in a way that is well thought-out. This really makes a big difference in terms of feeling well cared for in a vacation rental home. It's all in the little things - handy lists of where to get good take-out food, interesting things to do and so on. The owner of this home has put some real effort into making guests feel welcome and comfortable.
Meanwhile, this is a beautifully cozy space, with an amazing view of the beach below. There are a million wonderful books on the shelves to read, and you feel enveloped in comfort. Just as an aside - my Mom forgot something when she checked out, and she called - and the forgotten item was in Las Vegas within one day - where my Mom was staying en-route to go home. Very, very good service.
This is the one vacation rental home that I would want to visit again. Just amazing. Recommended for a mini family reunion or a romantic vacation on the beach. Watching the surfers from the deck was a real treat.
Just loved this place!
Highly recommended - am thinking of renting it myself for my upcoming anniversary.
Thank you, come back soon! Chris*
Neptune House Writers Retreat Review
We held a writer's retreat for 6 women, and this site was ideal. We are all extremely pleased with the house, the natural setting and the help we got getting everything set up before hand. The women all felt at home and comfortable. The kitchen was easy to work in, the bedrooms gave each of us plenty of privacy, the living room was cozy for those wanting quite place to write, the family room over looking the ocean became gathering/creative hideaway. Then the balcony was perfect for solo writing and working one on one. The hot tub was extremely helpful for one of our members who has a very bad back. It was a very productive week for all of us.
Thank you, all, so much,
A great place to hang out for golfers, surfing, enjoying the beach, taking walks along the surf line, collecting shells on the beach, kicking back on your own patio, and the breezes all summer and year-round! Have your afternoon glass of wine or margarita watching the great sunsets in your amazing home or deck! Only 3 homes over to the beach stair access at Stone Steps! Get some sun, or head over to Moonlight Beach and a lunch downtown. Take a walk to into Encinitas for breakfast, or use the great convenient kitchen. Take the Coaster train to downtown San Diego, or Old Town, or Padres or Charger games, the Del Mar Races in late July-through early September. Lots of shopping close by, walking distance to great casual dining, lots of activities! Legoland is only 10 minutes away, San Diego 25 minutes to the south, Disneyland is only 75 minutes to the north. Miles of beaches in both directions to explore
