A bright and airy three bedroom cottage, Slimbridge includes a first floor bedroom with queen size bed and first floor bath with shower. The upstairs master has a pillow top king size bed with direct access to a full bath. The third bedroom, also upstairs, has twin beds. A fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, glass top stove/oven, microwave and plenty of dishes, pots and pans, cutlery and small appliances (toaster, blender, slow-cooker, griddle, etc). Cable TV, High-speed Internet access and local and long distance phone are included. All windows have screens to allow the sea breezes to cool the house, but should the weather turn excessively warm, the house has central air conditioning. The living room has a flat screen TV and DVD player with plenty of comfy seating. The dining room table will easily seat 8 people for meals or a rousing game of cards or board game. There's even a reading nook for the bibliophile in the group! The walkout basement has a family room with a queen size pull out sofa bed and a twin bed with trundle.

When you arrive, your beds will have been made up with fresh linens. Towels and wash cloths, are also provided, so no need to bring them from home. You will also find a Welcome Book on the coffee table with instructions for use of everything from the TV to the washer and dryer. And another book we call the 'Book of Where' has suggestions for restaurants, ferries, places of worship and museums. Feel free to add brochures of places you would recommend while you are there.

Outside is a deck with table and chairs and a gas grill, which can be accessed by a ramp or steps. A nice yard and surrounding woods give children plenty of space to run and explore. We also have an outdoor shower to rinse off the salt and sand after a day at the beach. Speaking of the beach, we also provide sand toys, beach chairs, beach umbrella, and a beach parking pass!

Our family has been vacationing on The Cape for years. We love it here and look forward to giving you the opportunity to join in the fun we've had. It's a perfect spot for summer fun, but The Cape is also beautiful in the fall, winter and spring. This home would be a perfect spot for your family vacation or a get-away weekend.

About Bill and Debbie Tudor

We both retired in 2011. Bill was a purchasing agent and Debbie an elementary teacher. We have 3 wonderful children and 4 delightful grands. You'll find the house is furnished with visitors of all ages in mind.

Bill and Debbie Tudor purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Bill and Debbie Tudor chose Hyannis

After years of vacationing with family on the Cape, our kids convinced us it was time to buy a place of our own. Our Realtor showed us several properties, but when we pulled up to this house, we knew it was 'the one.' Once you see it and spend some time here you'll know what we mean.

What makes this cottage unique

Our family loves that Slimbridge Cottage is minutes from the beach and the warm waters of Nantucket Sound. It's also not far from the Cape Cod Rail Trail, a 25 mile paved bike and walking path. We love taking visitors to Plimouth Plantation and the Mayflower which is about 45 minutes away. There are ferries to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket right here in Hyannis or you can drive to Falmouth or Woods Hole if you want a shorter 'ocean voyage'. There are also whale watches and deep sea fishing boats that go out of Barnstable Harbor. Fresh seafood is abundant either from the local fish market or at any of the wonderful restaurants. If live theater is your thing, the Melody Tent is about a 5 minute drive. Are you a baseball fan? The Cape Cod Baseball League is one of the premiere summer leagues spotlighting the best collegiate talent. The Hyannis team plays about a 10 minute drive from our place! Probably one of the most amazing things about this place is the peace and quiet. It has woods on three sides with many beautiful birds and is on a cul de sac where our grandchildren can play and explore.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Beautiful place. I suggest going on the whale watch. We saw many whales and had a great day. Also went on wine tasting which was a great time, too. Thanks!! Hope to do it again.

We could not have asked for more at Bill and Deb's Cape Cod home! What a beautiful, peaceful home! We made so many joyous family memories there in just one week 💜 Property was spacious enough for two families with young children, convenient to beaches and well equipped (bikes, beach pass, beach toys, umbrellas, coolers, etc.) for all our vacation needs. We are so looking forward to vacationing at Deb & Bill's property next year! 😊💜

Charming Cape Cod House with All the Amenities and Comfort of Home

  • 5 of 5

This house is perfectly situated and wonderfully equipped for a great Cape Cod vacation. I have rented many places in the area and this has been the best rental by far. The owners are helpful, honest and gracious. They provide everything from linens and towels to toiletries and have a well-stocked kitchen.

The home is spacious and comfortable and can accommodate many people, with private areas for children to play and adults to convene.

But the best part is working with Deb Tudor. She goes to great lengths to ensure your comfort and convenience and bent over backward to help me. I had rented and paid for the home for two weeks and when my family was unable to stay the second week, Deb offered to help find another last-minute rental. The miracle is that she did! She truly cared about helping me in a bind and went to the time and trouble to help.

I would rent this place again in a second. It was a delightful experience with really kind and caring homeowners.

Owner's Response: It was a delight to have you and your family as guests. Your point about spaciousness is well taken. Our family enjoys the fact that different groups have their own space to talk, play or just be quiet and relax. We hope you will consider Slimbridge Cottage for your next holiday.

A very peaceful and immaculate property with good handicapped accessibility.

  • 5 of 5

Our family of six enjoyed a long weekend in this very comfortable home. Everything is available that you will need to have a great vacation. We especially appreciated the accessible ramp into the home and first floor bathroom that worked well for our daughter who uses a wheelchair.

A beautiful and quiet retreat!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words. Over the years, we have had several families who found the ramp and first floor bath and bedroom helpful. I'm happy to hear your stay was peaceful and relaxing. We love that our cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood, but only minutes from the beach, shopping and restaurants. Should your travels bring you to the Cape in the future, your family would be most welcome!!!

Right at home

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived at this beautiful vacation home we knew we were right at home. There were only two of us and it was a big house for two. It was very comfortable and had everything and I mean everything in this vacation home. We did not cook but everything was there for you down to the condiments. We have stayed at vacation homes before and nothing compared to this. Bill and Debbie had everything provided you did not have to bring anything with you. They even had a hairdryer which was very badly needed. I don't think you would have to bring anything with you only yourself and your clothes. I would definitely recommend. It was located about 2 miles from Hyannis and there were ample taxis if you wanted to go to town for a drink. Thanks again Bill and Debbie. Nora and Noel

Owner's Response: Several guests have found having cooking supplies to be a plus. The hair dryers (one upstairs and 1 down) are always helpful, especially when traveling overseas-as was the case for you. I'm so happy you enjoyed stay. Thank you for your kind words.

The squeals of delight from my children when we arrived said it all. We had travelled a long way to this house and it was the first house rental we had ever taken. I can find no fault. It was fabulous. Thank you to Debbie and Bill for taking such care with everything!
