About Elaine Cwynar and John Marks
As a chef, I enjoy local seafood and teach at a local university. My husband puts his software engineer expertise to work anywhere we go. Staying at the Cape gives us a mini-vacation whenever we spend time here. Our favorite walks and sunsets are right around the corner. We have the most fun going shellfishing and sharing nature's bounty with family and friends. The peace and quiet are refreshing and give us a great perspective on what is really important; nature, family, great food and meeting our guests!
Elaine Cwynar and John Marks purchased this House in 2007
Why Elaine Cwynar and John Marks chose Hyannis
Our smaller cottage next door was my home for years. As our family grew, we needed more room for our grandchildren and friends. Hence, we were lucky enough to purchase the bungalow which has been a favorite family reunion spot.
What makes this House unique
We enjoy the peace and quiet, long walks and easy access to activities like fishing, island visits to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket and Provincetown. Our outdoor shower is so refreshing and convenient, we use it far into the fall season as well. Our winter sojourns here are as comfortable and relaxed as summer, so we hope you consider coming during off-season as well for a well-deserved break or to enjoy the holidays.

Weekend trip to Hyannis
Elaine and John were great hosts for my wife and I during our weekend stay @ Norris Cottages. Elaine provided detailed instructions on the check-in/out process and also tips to help use appliances in the cottage. She also offered great tips on different things to see and do for first-timers to the Cape. We had a great time and look forward to visiting again!
Thank you for staying with us at Norris Cottages! Exploring a new area is always fun and challenging at the same time. We try to provide local knowledge and information on great activities so guests can maximize their enjoyment while relaxing a bit. There are always unique activities and hidden treasures to discover. We are open all year round, so take a well-deserved break this fall or winter.
We had a fantastic time at this adorable cottage. We had everything we needed, communication with Elaine was great. Location can’t be beat a short walk to Keyes Memorial which was a great beach , not crowded and the water perfect for swimming. Short walk to downtown Hyannis as well and a small market just a few steps away for any quick needs
We had a wonderful stay and couldn’t be happier with our vacation ;)
Thank you for staying with us. Please come back! We have so many returning couples and families who make wonderful memories here. We are so happy to offer this gem of open space and light for rejuvenating the soul and experiencing the ocean edge any time of year. Fall is a perfect time to take a break with comfortable weather and less traffic. Birders will love our proximity to the marsh and beach. We are on the migration path of land and sea birds, so sightings will be vast this year. Please let us know if you have any questions and we look forward to hosting you at either of our cottages #222240 or #227240.

Great base for a Cape Cod vacation
The place was perfect for our Cape Cod getaway. Centrally located so that you can see the whole Cape using it as a base. Walk to beach, Cape Cod league baseball and shops and places to eat. Perfect for our family of 4 but room for a few more if needed. Hosts greeted us warmly and gave great tips for the local area.
Thank you for staying at Norris Cottages. We enjoy sharing our our beaches, marshlands and conservation areas which are so precious. Visit us any time of the year. Fall and Winter are quieter and just as beautiful, especially if you love to photograph nature!
Exceptional Cape Cottage
A perfectly situated and well-appointed home for our small family. We appreciated the convenient location, the quiet street and the proximity to all that you could wish for, including the beach and town. The Owners are exceptional and the cottage was neat as a pin. It offered everything we needed - and more than we expected. The water at nearby Keyes Memorial Beach was unexpectedly warm, and the shoreline scattered with sea life to explore. Downtown restaurants were exceptional (Pizza Barbone, Alberto's Ristorante and Sea StreetCafe for breakfaster lunch - be sure to order the Clam Chowder!). The cottage's proximity to Mayflower Beach in Dennis, to the Kennedy Compound and to the high-speed ferry to Nantucket was excellent. The cottage made us feel at home, but also 'at-the-Cape'. We were thrilled to be there. Most highly recommended!
Thank you for staying with us at Norris Cottages. We try hard to provide all the comforts of home for our guests. We update and improve the property every year. Our prime location offers access to all areas of Cape Cod for easy exploration and discovery. We welcome guests all year round for seasonal activities and off season peace and quiet. It is a great spot for birders, writers, or anyone who needs a span of time to accomplish some work and relax as well.
We look forward to seeing you!

Just the right size
My husband and I spent a lovely and relaxing week in our little cottage by the ocean. It takes only 5-10 minutes to walk there and has a pretty little view.
I particularly loved the big open kitchen and all the space. House was clean and had all we could possibly need, including a very handy washer and dryer.Bedrooms were small but cozy.
While there, we toured the area and beyond and brought back lots of souvenirs from the cape.
This house was perfect for the two of us but can definitely accommodate a family of 4+.
We hope to return again in the future.
Elaine and John, the owners were extremely accommodating, friendly and easy to work with.
