The host was a very good communicator, and the house was very cozy. The beds were VERY comfortable! It was very convenient and a short drive to everything we like to do in the area. We were blessed with amazing weather while we were there - it was the perfect birthday trip :)
Very clean, with no distractions for granddaughter. For myself, shower was the best part. Clean, large ceramic stall and shower head gave plenty of water. Overall would stay again but next time I will pull some weeds for you :)

We truly appreciate your thoughtful review. It’s great to hear you enjoyed your time, and we’d love to welcome you back!
Booked here to save a bit of money rather than staying within Monterrey or Carmel . . . yes, we saved some money (not much) but wasn't really worth it due to the heavy traffic driving back after a long day on the coast. Interior of the house was very clean but missing lots of basic things that would make a huge difference in convenience. For example, zero furniture in the main bedroom meant keeping all of our luggage and items on the floor. No hangers or ways to hang anything in the master closet. Hardly any towel hooks. Can't seat four people at the table the way it's tucked into the "nook" (one of the chairs is flush against the wall). Nice to have a hot tub but it seemed kind of dirty and no designated spa towels. Also the listing says the kitchen is "fully stocked with pots and pans" and we literally could only find one pan to cook in. Wonder if maybe some items got taken and the owner hasn't checked in awhile? Overall not terrible but honestly not worth it if you're exploring coastal areas.

Disappointing Stay
At the time of booking, the listing showed bedding for 8 people (1 king, 2 queens, and one double/full). We thought we'd be fine for our group of six. We were wrong. The actual bedding situation was 1 king, 1 queen, a small futon couch that was smaller than a single when laid flat, and a normal sectional couch (not a sleeper sofa). The apparent expectation was that we would disassemble the sofa every evening and slide the pieces together so that the cushion surface area was equivalent to a queen mattress. After a rough first night, we informed Alan of the issue. We said we could make due with an inflatable queen mattress and some remediation for the delta between what we booked and what we received. He brought the mattress quickly, but refused to compensate us for the listing error.Be warned that the futon is tiny and uncomfortable, the couch does not have a sleeper bed hidden away, and none of the provided linens fit the futon or the sofa.We spent over three hours of our trip communicating with Alan and then with VRBO to get some of our money back from VRBO. The stay was otherwise decent, but the initial bedding issue and lack of resolution by the host left a sour taste. While Alan was always responsive and the place was clean, we would not recommend staying here, given the unwillingness to take responsibility for the inaccurate listing and the impact it had on our vacation.
