Overview

About the property

Townhome, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 9-10)

Located in beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado, our Townhome is a tri-level unit, with ground level entry, in the Cedars complex at the base of Peak 9, adjacent to Quick Silver chair lift.

Comfortably furnished with lots of space, our townhome is just like a 'home-away-from-home.' In addition to the amenities listed, the master bedroom has a king-size bed, the second bedroom has a queen-size bed and a Captain bunk bed. The bottom bunk is a full-size bed and the top bunk is a single. Each bedroom also has a full bath. There is also a queen-size sofa sleeper (with electric pump air mattress) in the living area.

With a pool and hot tub just down the block and the downtown shops, entertainment, and dining within walking distance, there is always something available for everyone. Summer time is just as fun as the ski season, with lots of activities. The Summit County area really caters to the tourists. Often, there are festivals of some type going on during the summer, along with all the other recreational activities you would enjoy in a Beautiful Mountain Setting.

During the ski season your Breckenridge lift tickets are also valid at Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, and Vail. You might consider trying the night skiing at Keystone. There is a shuttle service back and forth to each of the resorts. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, there is also tubing and skating.

About Bob Vaage & Cindy Thomas

We are a retired couple residing in Arizona, just north of Phoenix. We like to spend much of the summer months at the unit in Breckenridge so we can be closer to family. We have parents, siblings, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in Colorado.

Bob Vaage & Cindy Thomas purchased this townhome in 1994

Why Bob Vaage & Cindy Thomas chose Breckenridge

Originally from Colorado, we wanted someplace we could always come back to. We love Summit County and the Colorado mountains, so it just seemed logical to invest in a short term rental property.

In my opinion, The Cedars are the best location in Breck and I've been coming to Breck for 12+ years and stayed at many places. The great ski access along with short walk to town make it hard to beat. Unit was fantastic. State of the art kitchen and beautiful bathrooms. lots of room for a 2 bedroom

Excellent location with excellent amenities

  • 5 of 5

Great location, easy acccess to lift and ticket window allowed us to maximize time on the slopes. Kitchen was well equipped, and comfortable to cook and eat in. Games and movies provided relaxing entertainment by the fireplace after a long day on the hills. Bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable. Hot tub was an easy walk down the hill. Keypad to garage and house made it easy for 5 people to come and go as needed. We picked this condo based on the short distance to doubletree where one person was attending a conference, and it couldn't have worked out better. We'd definitely stay again

We've stayed in this unit multiple times. It has a homey feel right when you walk in and it's very comfortable. A great ski in, ski out location!

High end amenities with an excellent location!

  • 5 of 5

The Cedars 8 townhome was great in every way. We had 5 adult male old friends sharing the place for a mancation in early Feb for a ski trip. Here are the highlights:

- Great location-100' walk from the door down a path to the slopes. Put your skis on and ski 50' to the Qicksilver lift

- Ski back to within 20' of the garage door. Nice!

- Walk 2 blocks down the road to Main Street where all the shops, bars and restaurants are. We walked everywhere.

- Easy walk to Breckenridge Brewery. Need I say more...

- We never used it, but the shuttle stop is across the street from the condo complex

- Heated garage was awesome for storing a car and ski equipment and boots

- High end kitchen with great appliances and just about everything you can imagine. I mean everything!

- Full size high end washer and dryer right off the kitchen. Super handy.

- Heated tile floors in the kitchen which was a very nice touch

- Nearly all lights were on dimmers which was cool

- Three full baths which worked out well for 5 guys. One had a Jacuzzi tub and one had a special steam shower feature, great for the dry sinuses

- Only two BRs, but they were both large and there was also a Queen sleeper in the family room that we utilized. Fit 5 guys with no problem.

- Nice DVD and book collection with good recent movies, many of which were not even opened yet

- Stereo system with surround sound

- Good size flat screen with Xfinity HD, DVR and plenty of channels

- Nice, high quality decorations

- Wood floors in family room, carpeting upstairs

- Valdoro resort is across the street and has an Alpine Sports ski rental place in it. This is where we rented skis and was very handy when we had any issues with equipment. They rent very good equipment there and were great, but that is for another review.

- Code entry system was handy. No one needed any keys.

- The price is fantastic for the amenities

- The owners were great and answered any questions we had very quickly.

There were really no negatives except for maybe that there was no hot tub in the complex. I guess there is a shared one down the street a bit. We never found it. The one issue we had was the place would stay a bit too warm even with the thermostats cranked all the way down. It was very efficient I guess. We attributed it to the heat radiating floors. Had to open some windows at times to cool it down

I highly recommend the Townhome. I'll be back!

Thanks Cindy & Bob for sharing your place with us.

Outstanding Ski Vacation Townhouse

  • 5 of 5

3 of us skiers stayed here for 4 nights. The townhouse was clean, spacious, and attractive, and the location could not have been better - very close to the Quicksilver Lift and a short walk downtown. The kitchen was fabulous, although we mostly ate at the many nearby restaurants. Reserving and paying for the rental was easy, and the owner was readily available and helpful by phone. Although in the center of town it was very quiet. The heated garage was a real bonus for gearing up and taking off/storing ski equipment. It was also a great value. I doubt if you can find a better rental for your money in Breckenridge. Thanks Bob & Cindy! We'll be back!

chef's ski retreat

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed at several well appointed ski condos, with ski in ski out access. This one is no different except for the well stocked chef's kitchen: high end appliances, gas cooktops, complete assortment of cooking pots/pans etc, and a fully stocked spice cabinet make delicious meals a welcome change to dining out. Not that Breck is short of good eats, sometimes a nice dinner or entertaining in, is perfect. The keypad access means nobody in our group needed to keep track of who's got the keys. The only minor negatives had to do with several burned out bulbs on various lamps. There was some party noise from the balcony of the complex facing the kitchen, but for the most part out stay was quiet.
