About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom With Mountain Views Next To Glacier National Park

The Kintla cabin is perfect for one, two or three guests! (Email us for availability. The calendar may not be up to date!)

The Kintla cabin is located on the northwest side of Glacier National Park. It is immediately next to the park. About ten minutes north or south are entrances to Glacier. This is the 'wilder and less traveled' northwest side of the park filled with scenery, wildlife, hiking, etc, all with the North Fork of the Flathead River streaming through it. This is Montana the way you envision it!

It is a cozy cabin furnished with 'Montana made' log furniture including a loveseat for your comfort. The cabin decor incorporates wonderful artwork by a very talented local Montana artist. The large fully equipped bathroom with shower is decorated with a moose theme. The Kintla cabin is fully equipped with a mini-fridge and coffee maker just as you would find in many hotel rooms. For those crisp mountain evenings the cabin is equipped with gas heat.

Located in the North Fork area this cabin is a great escape from the more crowded areas of Glacier National Park. On the front porch you can relax in the morning with coffee or in the evening with your favorite beverage. You might even see local wildlife meandering by. Enjoy a campfire in the private fire ring at your cabin while you grill your evening meal. (table top gas grill provided) We are close to two North Fork restaurant-drinks options.

Thanks for everything - the cabin was just perfect for our visit - even the couch was great for sleeping! You were both such gracious hosts - thanks for sharing your spot of heaven in Montana.

Off the beaten path

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at the kintla cabin in late August. Polebridge is on the northwest side of glacier national park close to the Canadian border. Polebridge is kind of off the beaten path but right at the park. There are multiple trail heads close to cabin. The cabin was great and the owners super friendly and helpful with providing recommendations. Everything in the cabin worked well and was decorated nicely. There are two stores/restaurants very close by. One is actually on the adjacent property which was very nice and convenient. We didn't have any cell phone signal in the area which was an added bonus but the river bottom restaurant has wifi available if you're desperate. The entire area was too beautiful to worry about cell reception. We will stay at this property again without question.

Off-the-Grid

Cool place. Next the Glacier Park but away from the crowds. Hit all of the hot spots between our daily hikes. Hope to come back soon!

Honeymoon at Glacier

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent three nights here as part of our honeymoon in July 2015. Loved going to Bowman Lake, Kintla Lake, the Northern Lights in Polebridge, Home Ranch Bottoms and the bakery. Our stay in the cabin was one of the highlights of our honeymoon. We're on a beginner's budget so this cabin was a very good value. It allowed us to stay close to the park.

Enjoyed this cabin

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here last year and back in 2013. The location was perfect for us. The cabin is set up well for us. It was clean, easy in and out, and worked well for our daily excursions into Glacier. We love being in the mountains and still having conveniences nearby. We just scheduled our next stay here for this coming September. Beth is very responsive when we book. We'd recommend this cabin to anyone.

Great Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in this cabin two times. This summer will be our third. When we decided to come to Glacier we wanted to stay somewhere off the beaten path but still have places to go for dinner. (I don't like to cook on vacation!) Most of the cabins we explored were either high traffic areas or just too expensive. We were very happy to find this one. Greg and Beth do a great job. Looking forward to our stay this summer.

Duped

  • 2 of 5

Disappointed - the view outside the cabin is only of Home Ranch Bottoms. The map that is provided in the listing is inaccurate. (The original review I submitted was rejected because it actually provided a direct link to the correct location on Google Maps - ha!) Although the area was beautiful and the cabin was affordable we felt that we were duped by this inaccurate listing. As I put it, I felt like Wal-Mart was right across the yard. Home Ranch Bottoms runs a loud diesel generator off and on for much of the day which, as you can imagine, takes away from the supposed serenity and remoteness of this location. There is also a large parking lot that has several campers, loud stereos and barking dogs. Not at what we expected in this "remote" area. The cabin was nice and we enjoyed making a fire and watching the northern lights at night. In summary, we will not return.

Owner's Response: Michelle—GUESTS LOVE THIS CABIN !!! We have had hundreds of happy guests since we began offering this cabin in 2012. Your review is the only negative review we have had. We're sorry you didn't enjoy your stay but we stand on our reputation for offering cost conscious, well maintained and reliable lodging, WITH FULL AMENITIES, in the Polebridge/North Fork area, for visitors to Glacier National Park. Your inference that you were duped is regrettable. If you simply had read the VRBO listing it states clearly in two places that the cabin is about 1000 feet from the Home Ranch Bottoms. Guests love this too! They can take a short walk for dining, drinks, conversation and sometimes, live music! By the way, VRBO automatically generates the map in the listing based on the property street address. We have no control of the VRBO map. When you were there perhaps you didn’t notice but there is a 2000 acre ranch that starts about 30 feet behind the cabin, which is then backdropped by the Whitefish Mountain Range and the Flathead National Forest. It's all DIRECTLY BEHIND THE CABIN. Winona Ridge is the name of the mountain right behind the cabin! Glacier Park is just across the river (1/4 mile). Again, we're sorry you didn't enjoy it, but we do not "dupe" anyone, as you imply by your review.

This cabin is located adjacent to Glacier National Park, a mecca for a spectrum of outdoor and environmental recreational activities, as well it is surrounded by the Flathead National Forest. The North Fork of the Flathead River, a wild and scenic designated waterway, is a terrific place for fly-fishing, floating/rafting and kayaking.
