1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, Surrounded By The Rocky Mtns. & Yellowstone Park
About Terry Wilks
I moved to Gardiner in 2004 to manage the westernaire motel, my husband being retired wanted to live in Gardiner so as time moved on we decided to invest in the community and found this unique property.
Terry Wilks purchased this House in 2012
Why Terry Wilks chose Gardiner
Because this property is so close to my work and has a lot of potential, with my husbands eye for upgrading it has been an adventure and will continue to be. The area is so beautiful with the rocky mountains and Yellowstone park, the wildlife wondering around and coming to visit, there is always something new and exciting to see. A great place to live or play.

Great for visiting Yellowstone
The cabin was accurately described in the listing and very convenient to access the park. If we are lucky enough to make it back to Yellowstone, we will definitely stay again.
Just like home!
We are a family of 2 parents and 2 children, ages 6 and 12. We stayed at "the brown cabin" for 5 nights during the second week of May. It was just like home! Everything was perfectly clean. The bed and the hide-a-bed in the couch (where our children slept) were both comfortable. The kitchen was well furnished, with plentiful dishes, glasses, and silverware, as well as pots and pans of various sizes. The cupboards were stocked with basics such as spices, as well as staples like oatmeal and flour, and supplies of plastic wrap and zip-lock bags. We especially appreciated the little touches of things that are handy but you don't necessarily think to bring: a cup with pens and scissors in the kitchen, kleenex boxes in the living room and bedroom, a pad of post-it notes, a flashlight just inside the door. Following the instructions left by the owner, we requested and received a can of bear spray to borrow. We used without trouble the high-efficiency washer and dryer, and appreciated the laundry soap and dryer sheets that were provided. A past review expressed a wish for extra storage. There is now a four-shelf cabinet in the kitchen that is empty for guest use, and there is an empty shelf in the bathroom. The nights were chilly, so we used the heater, and it worked just fine. Our children were delighted to see the elk grazing in the yards of the neighborhood, and we also enjoyed the delicious burgers at the restaurant across the street. The cabin is right on the main street, easy to find even arriving in the dark as we did. Thank you to Momma Terry for making our stay so enjoyable! If we return to Gardiner, we will stay again!
Great location and great comfy house
House is conveniently located in Gardiner. Owner was super responsive on any questions. We had no issues that we needed to contact her on just basic questions. I saw one person commented about how well stocked the bathroom personal items were and that they didnt have to use any of their own. For me personally, I would prefer more room to store my own things. All cabinets/drawers were full. A minor thing. We would totally stay again if we return to Yellowstone. Had a great christmas in the park! Thank you Terry!
Perfect little getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay while visiting Yellowstone. The place was in a perfect location with easy access to the park and local restaurants. The Burger place, as the other reviews state, was awesome! Terry had everything that we needed and the beds were comfortable. She was also very responsive and aaccommodating! Everything was perfect.
This well-appointed house was ideal for our week exploring Yellowstone NP and adjoining Montana forest hiking opportunities. The new washer/dryer were especially appreciated. Great living room seating and comfortable bed. Perfect for couple or small family, with the added treat of elk in the neighborhood. We were concerned that it might be noisy as it is on main street through town and across from an excellent burger place, but it was very quiet. Owner was responsive to questions and provided everything we could possibly need. So glad we chose Gardiner and the "brown house" for our base.
Everything you need
Well stocked. Great location. Don’t expect a real fancy place but the owners have certainly thought of everything. The cooler and thermos were used everyday.
Located in the rocky mountains with all the wild life and scenery to enjoy Yellowstone park is just 3 min. away by car. We are centrally located in Gardiner so when you are not in the park you are within walking distance of all the amenities Gardiner has to offer. gift shops, bars, casinos, white water rafting, fishing, just to name a few.
