The room was exactly as pictured. It is conveniently located and the host is a wealth of knowledge and recommendations.Two issues marred our stay. First of all was the water in the shower. It moves constantly from cold to hot and back again. And you either get too hot to avoid unpleasantly cool water or the opposite.The second issue was the lack of natural light. There is a garden but it in turn is often dim. A massive wall stands at its back (the wall of the Boboli gardens I suspect ). Whatever the cause the suite is always dim if you don't turn in the lights.

Thanks so much for your review. I'm sorry you had issues with the water temperature in the shower; this is new (or at least no-one has mentioned it before now), so we will look into it asap. As for the light in the apartment... we are on the lower floor of a typical old Florentine apartment building surrounded by the kind of typical tall buildings that characterize central Florence; many apartments in our city centre are a bit dark! The wall at the back is the La Specola natural history museum; next to it is Galileo's original observatory. All our rooms have windows and/or a door (which is quite unusual), and all but one (the bathroom) look onto the small walled garden. This gets overhead sun part of the day and is in shade for the rest; the shade is a huge plus when it is 40 degrees outside. If you want lots of natural light in Florence, it's best to book an apartment on the upper floor of a building.

The space felt like a home for while we were there. We will definitely consider staying there again if we are in Florence. The equipment for laundry was great and made it easier to have a long trip in Italy.

"Casa Nicky" provided a perfect holiday, ideally situated in the centre of the city yet with a secluded and peaceful back garden just underneath Galileo's observatory. We loved the sonorous bells of the city and the chance to cook in the well-appointed kitchen using the wonderful fresh produce available. It is a very comfortable apartment and we hope very much to return soon to continue our exploration of Florence and its breath-taking beauties. Nicky herself was a very helpful and hospitable host.

Fabulous stay with peaceful private patio. This apartment was excellent for my friend and I on a girls trip and would be great for a couple. Very comfortable bed in a loft style bedroom. Closet space and bathroom on the main level but that worked just fine. I flight of stairs up to the entry. The back patio was a wonderful feature of this apartment. A sunny quiet spot with nothing to be heard but bird song and church bells. I chose this side of the river for our stay to be someplace different and we enjoyed it. We walked everywhere in Florence except to and from the train station. Had memorable local experience picking up pizza down the street late at night. A great stay!

Perfect Florence Vacation
