We had a great stay! Beautiful place with many amenities and near downtown. It was within close vicinity of the USF St. Petersburg campus. The host was very responsive!

By 3 hours after check-in time the host had not provided the code to enter. We called the host, we messaged the host, Orbitz messaged and called the host, all to no avail. Orbitz cancelled our reservation and we had to find a new place.

I have never given a bad review before, but this was the worst check in experience I’ve ever had anywhere, the check in information was all deleted from my app, I spent almost 2 hours on the phone with VRBO as they told me they couldn’t find my reservation, and the host was not responding. I’ve also never NOT been able to get a hold of the host. The host never answered any of my questions/messages from the time I booked it, until the day after the long call with VRBO when they were finally able to find my reservation and give me the check in information because the host wouldn’t answer. The day after check in I sent her another message, again, this time asking why she allowed 6 people to book the apartment knowing that it only sleeps 4. All she would say was it’s listed as a 1br with a queen bed and a sofa sleeper. I understand the listing title, but she also should’ve advised me that 2 of my kids would be sleeping on the floor because they didn’t provide a rollaway bed for person #5 and #6. Shame on me for assuming we would all have a place to sleep after booking the place with 6 people. The location was decent, office people were friendly. The building smelled terrible of weed and other unidentifiable smells, but the apartment was clean and did not smell. Would no stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

This was my 1st experience with a VRBO rental and a major disappointment. The description was misleading, getting into the property was a hassle, the host was slow and unresponsive. Advertised as “Coastal Chic” a more appropriate description would be “Central CHEAP” and had all the charm of a Motel 6. I did not know an apartment could be furnished by Dollar General, but apparently it is so. The interior hallways had the feel of a tenement building with a fresh coat of paint. ArrivalEntry instructions using Cellgate app were confusing and plainly incorrect. A call to the host went to an anonymous and unanswered Gvoice number where I left a message. I finally gained access to the building lobby by sneaking in after a resident. Making it to the door of the apartment, which allowed entry by the use of more convoluted instructions. Greeting us at the door was an Eviction Notice from the owner of the building demanding immediate payment or to vacate the premises. The host never responded when advised of notice and I was left to wonder if we would have to find another place to stay.The description in VRBO stated that this place “Sleeps 6”. This is a lie. The convertible couch is not suitable for an adult to sleep on. The place sleeps 2 adults if they were to share a bed and the couch is for a child. As far as bedding for the stained couch, 1 sheet, a comforter and 2 pillowcases were provided. No sleeping pillows. No 2nd sheet.The shower.No hot and cold water for entire stay
