3 Bedroom / 2 Bath End Unit Townhouse - Large Deck, Fenced Back Yard & Firepit

This beautiful townhouse, located in the historic district, is just 3 short blocks from downtown Beaufort. Being an "end unit", our place provides extra light, views and privacy not available in other townhouses. Walk to the Waterfront Park, downtown shops, galleries or a variety of restaurants. Little need for a car once you arrive. Our home is located on a published walking tour route and horse-drawn carriage tours come within 100 ft of the house.

Bedrooms: The house can sleep six comfortably, with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Two bedrooms are upstairs and one is on the ground floor. The large master bedroom has a queen bed; it also has a single size sleep sofa. The second bedroom has 2 single beds. The ground floor has a bedroom with a very comfortable queen sleep sofa (Tiffany 24/7 Mechanism). If not needed as a bedroom, this room doubles as a den/ office and has a working fireplace. The upstairs bathroom has his & hers sinks as well as a shower/ tub. The downstairs bath has a shower. Washer & dryer are upstairs for convenience.

Living room: The front door leads into a large living room decorated with a coastal theme. The large bay window gives a spacious feeling. Relax in cushioned wicker chairs and sofa. We’ve decorated with pictures and artwork from many places.

Kitchen and eating area: The kitchen is small, but fully equipped and has all appliances. The dining table seats 8.

Deck & backyard: A spacious deck is great for entertaining or just relaxing. The backyard is fenced and surrounded by trees to provide security and a sense of privacy. Our landscaping includes a large patio paved with smooth river pebble stone. The central fire pit and ample stock of firewood create a fun focal point for evening get togethers.

Parking: Parking is off-street in a dedicated space behind the townhouse. Additional guest spaces are available. In addition, 2 free parking lots are across the street. The parking area and back are well-lighted with three streetlights.

Entertainment and communications: The townhouse has DirecTV with two HDTVs. High speed internet is available with a wireless router.

Our home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood with private off-street parking. In additions, we feel extra secure because of the 3 streetlights in the back. Walk, jog, or ride bikes through this historic area to see nearby historic churches, beautiful homes, and tree-lined streets. Extra parking is available in the free municipal parking lots just next door. Launch a boat in the Intracoastal Waterway at two near-by public ramps: Beaufort City Marina Landing or Pigeon Point Landing.

Our townhouse is a great place for you to relax with your graduating Marine. It is located just under 6 miles (about 10 minutes) to the entrance to US Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island. Our home is convenient to both downtown and Parris Island. The map show the location of our townhouse in Beaufort, and it can be adjusted to show the route to Parris Island down Ribaut Road through the town of Port Royal.

About Edward Brown

With roots in South Carolina, we have spent most of our careers outside the South. Ed was in the military and Mary taught at the elementary school level. We have vacationed on the South Carolina coast for many decades. When we discovered Beaufort and the sea islands, we knew this was the place.We are eager to be back and bought this townhouse as a vacation home. For now, we are offering our vacation home to others.

Why Edward Brown chose Beaufort

For several summers, we visited the Beaufort area and stayed in different locations (e.g., Ladys Island, Port Royal, Parris Island Gateway area, Pigeon Point, and near downtown.)

We discovered that nothing beats the convenience and simplicity of being so close to downtown and the waterfront. When crowded events occur along the waterfront, we never have to worry about parking (or a designated driver ). Shopping, restaurants, strolling the marina, the public library, and the Post Office are all just a few blocks away. You might be able to avoid driving all week, except for all the adventures waiting in the surrounding South Carolina Sea Islands.

For day trips, try locations such as Charleston, Savannah, or Hilton Head. If you're going towards Charleston, we really enjoyed the Charleston Tea Plantation; it was fun taking the tour and learning how tea is grown and produced.

What makes this townhome unique

Our townhouse is an end unit which we particularly like. With windows on the side, the unit has a more spacious feel with lots of light. The raised deck is our favorite space because it is a natural extension of the living space and because the tall lattice fence and trees give a real feeling of privacy. In addition, the back yard (56 x 30 ft) is fully enclosed.

The neighborhood is very quiet. Surrounded by churches (Anglican, Presbyterian, Baptist), Sunday morning is the only time when it's busy. During the week, the only interruptions are the hourly church bells from St Helena's Anglican Church (but only during the day.)

What a wonderful place to stay (especially if attending Marine Core Graduation!)

My entire family was thrilled with this place. We did not expect it to be as furnished as it was. We have stayed with other places and this one by far was one of the nicest. It was very clean and well taken care of and it was an excellent location for our daughter's graduation from the Marine Core (only about 10 min to the base). There were even pamphlets with different places to visit and eat at. We even talked with a neighbor who was from the Marine Core. The location was also great for site seeing in Beaufort. The bikes were an added plus along with the fenced in backyard and even firewood if you wanted a fire. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who would like to visit Beaufort and the surrounding cities.

Amazingly Great Stay!!!

This Townhome sits in the quietest little part of Beaufort. Walking distance to downtown (huge plus) and VERY CLEAN. The owners were very easy to work with and kept us up to date even as part of Hurricane Irma approached. We will stay here again on our next trip to beautiful Beaufort! Thank you guys so much for being great hosts!!!

The condo was perfect for our needs. The size & the location were exactly what we had hoped for. It was a short walk into town ( lovely marina & park) and a short/easy drive to the base. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.

The 5 "C"s: Charming, cozy, comfortable, clean, and convenient

When we were forced to cancel our family trip to Cape Hatteras at the last minute due to a construction accident that cut off all power to the island and subsequently forced a governor-ordered emergency evacuation, we were fortunate enough to find this little gem in Beaufort. Not only were the owners incredibly quick and responsive to our sudden change of plans, but the townhouse accommodated our every need. Living room was cozy, kitchen (which was fully loaded with all manner of cooking, dining, and drinking ware) and bathrooms were clean. Beds were comfortable, and the house was conveniently located just a couple of blocks from the historic downtown river walk area, which was spectacular. Most desirable was the backyard area, which is very private and attractively landscaped. My family and I enjoyed cocktails every evening on the lovely deck surrounded by trees and Spanish moss. At $139 a night, the place was simply a steal. And while we didn't have immediate access to the beach (the drive to Hunting Beach State Park took about an hour there and back), the journey was more than worth it because of the breathtaking scenery and lack of crowds.

The only weaknesses: neighborhood is quiet and easy to navigate, but a bit rundown. Interior was also a little dated, but these are admittedly picky points that in no way detracted from our experience. I can't emphasize what a fabulous vacation destination Beaufort is -- the area's history, scenery, architectural beauty, and culinary delights abound. Thanks to Ed, the owner, for sharing his lovingly-tended home with all who are lucky enough to book it!

You mentioned our neighborhood and our townhouse interior as possible weaknesses. For our interior, it looks like we were successful because we were aiming for the "shabby chic" look, with consignment shop treasures found near Hilton Head and wicker furniture brought back from Thailand. :-) However, all our appliances and the master bath are new. Our neighborhood is pretty typical of in-town Beaufort, where many neighborhoods are a mix of the old and new and are in transition. We feel very safe here. We hope you choose to come back to Beaufort in the future. Ed & Mary Gale

Great location

Nice place just a short walk to the water and historic district. Beds were extremely comfy (even sofa bed!)and townhouse was well stocked-especially with linens. Owner was very responsive and helpful. Only downside was the uncomfortable living room furniture and bathroom floors and carpet weren't the cleanest .
