House, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths (Sleeps 8)
Castaway II was built in the summer of 2001, and was renovated in the Spring of 2009 with tile flooring (except bedrooms) and painted throughout its interior. It is a fully furnished four (4) bedroom, three (3) bath home, with everything you will need for a quiet and restful vacation in our 'no condo' single family residential community. All linens, utensils, dishwasher, microwave, and washer and dryer are present for your use; TVs in the family room and master bedroom with satellite for your enjoyment, along with DVD and vcr players.
The master bedroom has a king size bed; another bedroom has twin beds; and, the remaining two bedrooms each have queen size beds. A sofa in the family room makes into a double bed.
The front deck faces east- perfect for enjoying a Gulf coast sunrise, and is shaded in the afternoon for enjoying the view of the Gulf and the constant Gulf breezes. This house is located approximately 300 feet (length of a football field) from the Gulf- the street (Bernard Court East) dead-ends on the beach- there is no cutting through other folks property, or walking great distances to gain beach access.
There is an extra refrigerator under the house for your use. The area under the house is concrete which provides a parking area and/or shaded play area for children. There is plenty of off-street parking for multiple vehicles, your boat, or other watercraft.

The lifestyle in the Fort Morgan community is 'laid back'. If you like heavy traffic, noise, condos, and crowded beaches, our neighborhood is not the place for your vacation. Ft. Morgan reminds us of how Gulf Shores, Destin, Panama City use to be- 30 to 50 years ago. The main highway leading from Gulf Shores to Fort Morgan ( ALA Highway # 180) is an improved paved road, our streets are paved; but there are no sidewalks, no traffic jams, and thus, no need for traffic lights.
Fort Morgan is a quiet and safe community. It is a mixture of full-time residents, and vacation homes.
Fort Morgan is located on the western end of a peninsula that is approximately 20 miles long. The west end of the peninsula ends at the mouth of Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Directly west across the bay from Fort Morgan is Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island. A ferry operated by the State of Alabama provides auto, bicycle, and individual passage between Ft. Morgan and Dauphin Island on a regular, published schedule . A ferry ride with a visit to The Estuarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab ( which features live exhibits of the local marine habitats) and tour of Ft. Gaines is enjoyable.

About: I'm a native Alabamian -- born and raised in Perry County, Alabama. I currently live in Tallassee, Alabama where our family was raised (son-Joey, and daughter- Beth). Joe enjoys spending time with his children (both married), our son-in-law, and daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren, our Church, and going to the ONLY beach- Ft. Morgan!
Why Homes, Bernard Court (Gulf Shores, AL, USA):
The Fort Morgan area reminds us of how Gulf Shores was thirty (30) years ago- prior to the proliferation of condos. Ft. Morgan is a quiet, peaceful place to relax and enjoy the pristene white sandy beach, salt air, and ever-present Gulf breezes; a community of single-family homes; with get neighbors and friends.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Only a short walk to the beach- the street (Bernard Court East) actually dead ends onto the beach- there is no cutting through other property owner's yards, or walking down the beach front road east or west to access the 'public' areas. The Gulf and Bay views can be enjoyed from the front deck. Since the house is located about a 1/4 mile away from the marina, and less than a mile from the Ft. Morgan historic site wuith public boat launch and fishing pier, there are a lot of fishing and boating activities available- we enjoy shrimping and fishing in Mobile Bay.
