*MAY 14 - AUGUST 20; THIS PROPERTY IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR RENT FROM SUNDAY TO SUNDAY*

Castaway II is a beautiful beach home located less than 100 yardsfrom the prettiest, and perhaps least crowed, beach anywhere! The home's 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, along with full size, complete kitchen, eating bar, spacious dining area, den, and laundry room offer generous room for your stay. The home features tile flooring (except bedrooms), is fully furnished, with a fully furnished kitchen, featuring all needed small appliances, dishwasher, microwave, and stove; -everything you will need for a quiet and restful vacation in our 'no condo' single family residential community. All bed linens and towels are furnished at no extra charge. A washer and dryer are in the home for your use; TVs in the family room and master bedroom with satellite for your enjoyment, along with DVD and vcr players.

The master bedroom has a king size bed; another bedroom has twin beds; and, the remaining two bedrooms each have queen size beds. A sofa in the family room makes into a double bed.

The front deck faces east- perfect for enjoying a Gulf coast sunrise, and is shaded in the afternoon for enjoying the view of the Gulf and the constant Gulf breezes. This house is located approximately 300 feet (length of a football field) from the Gulf- the street (Bernard Court East) dead-ends on the beach for direct beach access- there is no cutting through other folks property, or walking great distances to gain beach access.

There is an extra refrigerator under the house for your use. The area under the house is concrete which provides a parking area and/or shaded play area for children. There is plenty of off-street parking for multiple vehicles, your boat, or other watercraft.

Alcohol is allowed on our beaches, as are pets. You are free to leave beach umbrellas in place over night.

We appreciate your interest in Castaway II.

If I can answer any questions or further explain the features of Castaway II, do not hesitate to call me at 334-233-2002.

About Tina Scarborough

We are native Alabamians. We live in Tallassee, Alabama.

Joe and I enjoy actively participating in our Church, traveling with our friends, boat rides, fishing and shrimping, riding the ferry to Dauphin Island, bike rides in the Fort Morgan and Dauphin Island area, and enjoying the prettiest beach in the world- here in Ft. Morgan!

Tina Scarborough purchased this house in 2000

Why Tina Scarborough chose Gulf Shores East

The Fort Morgan area reminds us of how Gulf Shores was forty (40) years ago- prior to the proliferation of condos. Ft. Morgan is a quiet, peaceful place to relax and enjoy the pristene white sandy beach, salt air, and ever-present Gulf breezes; a community of single-family homes; with great neighbors and friends.

What makes this house unique

Only a short walk (less than 100 yards-the length of a football field). Our street (Bernard Court East) actually dead ends onto the beach- there is no cutting through other property owner's yards, or walking down the beach front road east or west to access the 'public' areas. The Gulf ( and Bay views when leaves are off the trees in the Fall and Winter) can be enjoyed from the front deck. Since the house is located about a 1/4 mile away from Fort Morgan Marina, and approximately a mile from the Ft. Morgan historic site with public boat launch and fishing pier (to be remodeled in the coming year), there are a lot of fishing and boating activities available- we enjoy shrimping and fishing in Mobile Bay.

Great Time!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great time staying in Castaway II in the Fort Morgan area. Tina and Joe Scarborough were great to work with. (They were are neighbors too!!) The layout of the home worked really well for our family with an 8 month old, two young girls and five adults. Just a short walk to the beach. Would love to stay there again. Thanks Tina!!

House was perfect for our family.

  • 5 of 5

House met all of our needs. Kitchen could use a few items but otherwise this house was perfect. It's close to beach access and the area underneath the house is a great place to hang out. It was nice having a second refrigerator and use of a beach wagon!

Spring Break 2017

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying here. The pictures are exactly the way the house looks. We sat on the porch every morning drinking our coffee and every evening with cocktails. The area was very quiet; which we loved. The kids (ages 13-15) were able to walk and hang at the beach by themselves while we sat on the deck watching them. I would definitely rent this house again and hopefully next time - we can get more of our friends and family to come down and rent the houses near us.

Castaway II was perfect for my family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

The 4-bedroom, 3-bath home was ideal for our family of 8! The location is close enough to a private, clean beach. We were able to leave our beach gear and toys out all week. There is also a utility closet under the house with an extra refrigerator / freezer that was nice to have to store our ice for the ice chest. There are also some inflatable water toys and a wagon to cart all of our belongings to the beach (even though the walk was short). We brought our bicycles and left them in there as well. The Scarboroughs are very accommodating and easily accessible. We had a question about the WiFi password, and they got back with us right away! They own four homes (if I'm not mistaken) on the same street. If Castaway II is booked the next time we head to the Gulf, I will check the availability of one of their other properties. They are quite hospitable!

We had a great week at Castaway II! Tina was so friendly and helpful! The place was nicely decorated and everything was clean. We couldn't have asked for a better overall experience. We will definitely be back and are already looking forward to our next visit.

The lifestyle in the Fort Morgan community is 'laid back'. If you like heavy traffic, noise, condos, and crowded beaches, our neighborhood IS NOT the place for your vacation. Ft. Morgan reminds us of how Gulf Shores, Destin, Panama City use to be- 30 to 50 years ago. The main highway leading from Gulf Shores to Fort Morgan ( ALA Highway # 180) is an improved paved road, our streets are paved; but there are no sidewalks, no traffic jams, and thus, no need for traffic lights.

Fort Morgan is a quiet and safe community. It is a mixture of full-time residents, and vacation homes.

Fort Morgan is located on the western end of a peninsula that is approximately 20 miles long. The west end of the peninsula ends at the mouth of Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Directly west across the bay from Fort Morgan is Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island. A ferry operated by the State of Alabama provides auto, bicycle, and individual passage between Ft. Morgan and Dauphin Island on a regular, published schedule (mobilebayferry.com) . A ferry ride with a visit to The Estuarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab ( which features live exhibits of the local marine habitats) and tour of historic Ft. Gaines is enjoyable.
