About Tina Scarborough
We are native Alabamians. We live in Tallassee, Alabama. Joe and I enjoy actively participating in our Church, traveling with our friends, boat rides, fishing and shrimping, riding the ferry to Dauphin Island, bike rides in the Fort Morgan and Dauphin Island area, and enjoying the prettiest beach in the world- here in Ft. Morgan!
Tina Scarborough purchased this House in 2000
Why Tina Scarborough chose Gulf Shores
The Fort Morgan area reminds us of how Gulf Shores was forty (40) years ago- prior to the proliferation of condos. Ft. Morgan is a quiet, peaceful place to relax and enjoy the pristene white sandy beach, salt air, and ever-present Gulf breezes; a community of single-family homes; with great neighbors and friends.
What makes this House unique
Only a short walk (less than 100 yards-the length of a football field). Our street (Bernard Court East) actually dead ends onto the beach- there is no cutting through other property owner's yards, or walking down the beach front road east or west to access the 'public' areas. The Gulf ( and Bay views when leaves are off the trees in the Fall and Winter) can be enjoyed from the front deck. Since the house is located about a 1/4 mile away from Fort Morgan Marina, and approximately a mile from the Ft. Morgan historic site with public boat launch and fishing pier (to be remodeled in the coming year), there are a lot of fishing and boating activities available- we enjoy shrimping and fishing in Mobile Bay.

We had a wonderful time in Fort Morgan. Could not have asked for a better experience. Beach was calm with little people. Felt comfortable leaving our chairs and toys out overnight. Owners were responsive and prompt. We will definitely consider this home again for our next visit. Great family neighborhood with little traffic, perfect for kids.
I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay! Hope to see you again!
Our family just returned from our relaxing week at the beach. This home was conveniently located just a short walk from the beach. The home was equipped with everything we needed to cook and eat all our meals. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of space to spread out and relax. It isn't the newest/fanciest house but the reasonable price reflects that! It is a great price for the location and in a quiet neighborhood. We would def stay here again.
Awesome place! Great people
What a nice place! Only 100yds from the beach with plenty of parking under the house! Everything was neat and as listed! Tina checked on us several times throughout the stay and asked our opinion of the property and if it could be improved when we left! We will be going back next year! The beach wagon that is mentioned is just a red wagon with rubber tires, so don’t go expecting a super nice wagon. You can rent a nice cart and beach chairs in tow for just over $100. And they will deliver! We took our kayaks and were able to go to several landings within just a few minutes drive! All neighbors were really nice and friendly!
Overall it was a wonderful time!
While we enjoyed our beach vacation, I felt the home lacked much! The kitchen cabinets are grimy, there were pans stored that were filthy with food, the filters in the home were hanging with dust, the stove light stays on constantly showing there is a burner on, there was milk dribbled down the side of the couch, you could see daylight around the doors while closed and locked, there were dead bugs in the tray on the dining table, absolute filth and disgust behind the bed where the plugs are to use for cell phone charger, the broom (without a proper handle) had hair balls built up on it and the furniture is outdated and uncomfortable. The home is spacious, however, needs updated and deep cleaned. The outdoor shower and parking area are nice. It is a very short distance to the beach but does not allow for sunset or beach views. The home would be an excellent choice if it were clean and updated. Has a nice deck but is not safe. The front rail was wobbly and in poor condition. Home has cable but only 1-2 decent channels, the others are all infomercial channels.
While we did not allow the poor condition of the home to ruin our vacation, it would have been nice not to have to wash all the dishes and bedding prior to use and clean the home before being able to relax.
I am sorry to learn from your review that you found the house in such a state of dis-repair, filth, insect infested, etc. etc. You probably do not recall or will not admit that when I called on two different occasions to check on you during your stay, you stated “everything is great”: further, my husband talked with you and your guests in person during your stay and always asked “if there was anything you need or anything that is not to your satisfaction- just let me know”- likewise, he was not informed of any problem, deficiency, or otherwise.
Perhaps your review was a “ pay back” or “retaliatory” for your failure to pay the fee for your two (2) pets when you booked?............. perhaps you were confused when you said everything was fine and meant to state the deficiencies stated in your review.
Whatever was the case, we appreciate you staying with us, regret that you were only able
To watch a couple of channels on Dish, as we do have several different channels and that you found that the sun set in the west each evening. I have no control over the sunsets!!
Our recent visit
Everything was as advertised, and competitively priced
The lifestyle in the Fort Morgan community is 'laid back'. If you like heavy traffic, noise, condos, and crowded beaches, our neighborhood IS NOT the place for your vacation. Ft. Morgan reminds us of how Gulf Shores, Destin, Panama City use to be- 30 to 50 years ago. The main highway leading from Gulf Shores to Fort Morgan ( ALA Highway # 180) is an improved paved road, our streets are paved; but there are no sidewalks, no traffic jams, and thus, no need for traffic lights.
Fort Morgan is a quiet and safe community. It is a mixture of full-time residents, and vacation homes.
Fort Morgan is located on the western end of a peninsula that is approximately 20 miles long. The west end of the peninsula ends at the mouth of Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Directly west across the bay from Fort Morgan is Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island. A ferry operated by the State of Alabama provides auto, bicycle, and individual passage between Ft. Morgan and Dauphin Island on a regular, published schedule (mobilebayferry.com) . A ferry ride with a visit to The Estuarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab ( which features live exhibits of the local marine habitats) and tour of historic Ft. Gaines is enjoyable.
