Highly recommend this villa in Wendover Dunes. If anything, it is nicer than the photos indicate. Nicely decorated, it was very clean on arrival. Reasonable walk to the beach (10 mins) and quite close to the pool/jacuzzi area. The pool is well maintained and its nice having a heated spa tub for those cooler evenings. This is well away from the noise and more crowded beach areas that are more central in Palmetto Dunes - it's in a quieter area of the beach. Underground garage parking available which helps with hot sun and rainy days. The screened in porch is very large and was a nice place for breakfasts or evenings, and it looks out on a heavily treed preserve area with lots of birds and wildlife. Owner Terry was great with communications and information. All in all an outstanding place - I've been coming to this area for 30+ years and it's easily one of the top places we've stayed. One word of caution is that there are a few stairs up to the villa from the garage, maybe about 15 with a landing halfway. I found it workable even though I have some difficulty with stairs, due to sturdy handrails on the stairwell. All in all this is a winner of a rental. As for the area, aside from the beach and pool there are scores of high quality restaurants, a couple cool harbors for boating and watersports, shopping and outlets nearby, and Savannah and Charleston are both easy day trips from here as well. Lots to do and see.
