Could have been better
Upon arrival at the condo, the check in was easy as we had received our access code and parking passes. When we walked into the condo the smell of musty water was overwhelming and as we investigated, the breaker on the refrigerator had been tripped and all of the ice and leftover Popsicles from other people had melted. It obviously had been days since anyone was there so we cleaned up the mess and tried to get the refrigerator to work, with no luck. We went to use the separate ice machine and it didn't work either. We alerted the property owner and were told that someone could be there to look at it the next day. We had no where to put any of our cold items so we had to go buy ice for our coolers to try to keep our groceries cold. The next morning by 9 am still no one had shown up. Finally around 10:30 a repairman showed up to try to fix it only to be told that they compressor had went out and there was nothing he could do. Day 2 came and went with no refrigerator. Finally on Day 3 of our stay a new refrigerator arrived. 24 hours later - still no ice. Had to call again and have a repair person come out and actually hook the water up properly so that it would produce ice. The smell of mustiness finally went away but the overall appearance of the condo really needs a makeover. We came for the beach -- and the beach and pool were wonderful so we still had a great time at that location; however, the lack of attentiveness and responsiveness really was a bummer. The convenience of staying in a condo so that we could cook there and eat in some at lunch turned into a big inconvenience since we had to go buy more ice the first 3 days of our 5 day vacation. We asked for some compensation to cover our ice or bring us some ice while we were there and we got no response towards our issue. We really like the building for the location and beach but would not stay in this unit again.
Dear potential guests reading this review,
It is true that these guests arrived to my condo to find the refrigerator broken. Our previous guests had left several days prior and the unit cleaned. At the time the unit was cleaned the refrigerator and ice maker were working fine. It is not uncommon for us to leave popsicles in the refrigerator because they are individually wrapped and a welcomed treat to newly arriving guests.
The refrigerator compressor failed sometime immediately prior to their arrival which is why all the ice melted in the ice retainer. Situations like these are unfortunate, and the only remedy is to fix the problem as soon at possible.
There are some things in the review above that are not truthful, and I would like to point them out for your consideration:
1.) The guests were not without a refrigerator for 3 days - The guests contacted me at 4pm on Aug 19 to inform me of the problem with the refrigerator. I immediately got on the phone with several repairmen to try to get someone on site that evening. I was not successful in this, but I did have a repairman at the condo the very next morning at 10am. The repairman informed me that the refrigerator was unrepairable so I had him bring out a new refrigerator. A brand new, $1400 stainless steel Whirlpool refrigerator was installed in the condo before 4pm the same day. The guests were without a refrigerator for less than 24 hours.
2.) The guests say I was not attentive to the problem - We spoke on the phone 13 times in less than 24 hours. In fact, I believe I was giving them play-by-play action to keep them updated on the refrigerator replacement.
3.) I arranged for the guests to check into another unit immediately down the hallway. The unit was identical to mine, and the refrigerator was working fine. The guests declined my offer.
Dear potential guests, when you arrive to my condo the temperature will be set at a cool dry 72 degrees. I have granite countertops in the kitchen and white marble counters in the bathrooms. My toilets, tubs, and showers are sparkling clean. I have a king sized be in the master bedroom that feels like you're sleeping on a cloud. I have hurricane shutters on my balcony that can make the condo feel like night time even during the day. You will enjoy staying at my condo, and I encourage you to read my other 60+ five star reviews where other guests have enjoyed themselves.
Great location, the condo has plenty of room. Master bedroom and bath very spacious. I especially like the half bath so cloth to the front door. Very handy coming in off the beach. The owner is quick to respond to all my questions. I will return on my next visit.

We truly enjoyed our stay! Condo was nice and it had a beautiful view. We look forward to staying again in the future. It was hard to go home!
Wonderful beach location, relaxing & peaceful.
We just got back last night from our fabulous vacation where we stayed at the Regency Inn, Orange Beach Condo! Wow! Anything & everything you could possible want or need is right there, so relaxing & peaceful. We did go out to dinner & also stopped at a nearby Wal-Mart & everyone was so friendly & we even noticed how clean the side of the roadways were! Amazingly we felt safe even though we were out of state travelers. If you are looking for a wonderful place to vacation, please check this location out! Thank you so much Mr. Thompson!
Ready to return to Regency Isle!
We totally enjoyed our stay at #407 Regency Isle! With just a short walk to the beach, the condo’s fourth floor view is perfect for people watching, is centrally located right across from elevators and that large balcony is awesome! Dennis, the owner was easy to work with and very responsive. The building had all the amenities we needed, gas grills under nice gazebo were cleaned every morning, green space was clean & tidy, basic exercise room and we loved having assigned garage parking. Beach rentals were also handy. It was a perfect space for family vacation. We would definitely return to 407 for future beach rentals.
Sand crab hunting! Get your flashlights and beach buckets and head out to the shore at night. There will be lots of sand crabs on the beach which are fun to catch and release!
