Amazing

  • 5 of 5

We came from Virginia with two families. Four adults (two couples) and four teenagers. The house was more than perfect to accommodate us. Chaney and Miles were great ..and prompt to respond to any questions we had . We cooked meals in and had some out as well. The store and restaurants were convenient . The location for us in this house were the BEST on the North Shore and we were not disappointed . We enjoyed watching the surfers surf the big and small pipeline waves . Our boys surfed here as well and when the pipe was too large they still had waves in front of the house that worked well for them . We felt at home here and the waterviews are the BEST! We also spotted whales, surfers, rainbows, and amazing sunsets.

We look forward in coming back! We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else !

Very nice place, mixed feelings

  • 3 of 5

We loved the location. Loved the open floor plan downstairs and roomy bedrooms with views. We did enjoy our vacation but there were a few things that could be improved upon and several things were not in working order: No cold water in one of the upstairs bathrooms and, in contrast, we did run out of warm water many times (not the end of the world in a warm, tropical climate), the dryer door was only able to stay closed with tape that was already in place when we arrived so it was probably an ongoing thing, refridgerator had a light on stating that filter needed changing, the dishwasher tipped dangerously forward when door was opened, kitchen knives were very dull...to the point that we could not use them, the outside gate was very hard to close and the steps to the ocean were broken and hazardous. I think that this house gets a lot of wear and tear each season with the Volcom riders but things should be in working order for renters.

Also, since we were there iin summer, the house was very hot in the afternoons. There are a/c units in upstairs bedroom but not downstairs. It affected us more because we had young children that took naps and we stayed inside during those times. If you were out enjoying the beach in the afternoons it would not be a big deal.

Lastly, we were given information about a rental company that can arrange for rental of baby equipment so you do not need to fly with all the baby paraphernalia ...but we did not get this information until arrival. It would have been of great help to have known that ahead of time.

LIke I said, we did enjoy our time but thought an honest review might be helpful.

Owner's Response: Hi Nancy, I wanted to respond to your review because many of the things you are stating are minor issues that could have been address while you where here. I have never gotten a three start review before and many of the guest come back year after year to stay at this house. Also it would have been nice to know these things asap. Not six months later. 1.) No cold water in one of the upstairs bathrooms? I need to know these things so it can be looked at. 2.) Hot water, when you have as many as 14 people staying in one house you will most likely have to wait for the water to heat again. 3.) The dryer worked perfectly fine and need a replacement clip that was on order. You just had to close the door a certain way to keep it closed. This was explained. 4.) The water filter is easily replaced if it is brought to our attention. The fringe is brand new and we were not aware it needed replacement. 5.) If there was a problem with dishwasher tipping you could have told us and it would have been screwed in better right away. This is an easy fix. 6.) The kitchen knives are easily replaced if we know that they are not working for you. 7.) The steps to the beach change every year with the way the swell and the beach changes. There are actually two sets of stairs and one has a handle bar to make it safer to get up and down to beach. 8.) The first floor has very large stacking doors that open up to the ocean. We do not have AC in this room because guest do not close this main floor room up for AC to work. We do provided several fan for the guest to use. 9.) Baby items. I email everyone after the final payment is received, directions to the house and check-in instructions and a list of all the rental place and other things to do on your trip. This is done way before the guest check-in. Lastly I want to say that yes the house is used by the surf team during the winter months but we take great care in getting the house ready for those coming to vacation. We take everything out that the team uses and replace it with nice stuff that the team does not use. Again I really wish you would have brought all this to my attention asap. I strive to keep my guest happy. The house is currently getting all new window and a new paint job. As well and a new driveway. I will make sure we have new knives as well.

THIS IS NORTH SHORE OAHU!

  • 5 of 5

This was homecoming for me to show my kids, spouses and grandkids where I grew up. The PERFECT LOCATION!!!! 12 people, 3 generations, ages 9-62. Epic view of Sunset Beach and steps out the door. So much privacy for all with 4 bedrooms and full bath on each one. Each bedroom had a balcony overlooking the beach. Laundry room was huge help with so many people. Huge kitchen and great room with dining. Bike path at the end of the driveway, food trucks galore, snorkeling a mile away, Waimea Bay 3 miles, Haleiwa 5 miles, nearby golf. North Shore has everything you want for the true Hawaii experience. Outside of a trip to Pearl Harbor, we never left the North Shore. 10 days of paradise!!! THIS is where to be! Thank you Chaney for THE PERFECT vacation! Agent was awesome. Always available within a few minutes if you had a question.

Just absolutely fabulous vacation home

  • 5 of 5

There was 13 of us on a special family vacation including 5 children from age 15 to 9.

Every floor had sliding glass doors opening up to balconies with wonderful views of the ocean. Waking up to hear the sound of the ocean every day just totally de-stressed everyone. We were very well taken care of with Chaney and Ty and they were very friendly and helpful. We could not have wished for a better vacation home. We were all sad to leave. We felt very fortunate to have had our special vacation in a very special home. Thanks Chaney and Ty for a wonderful job of taking care of us.

Awesome place for a north shore vacation

  • 5 of 5

The volcom pipe house was the best possible place to stay on the north shore. The view was epic, beach was beautiful, house was clean, well set up for a group of 14, an amazing week was had by all of us waking up to surf and sun. A great place to spend my 30th birthday with all of my best friends.
