About the property

2 bedroom 1 bathroom cottage with great outdoor spaces

Great two bedroom, one bathroom house with a private backyard. Bedroom one has a queen bed while bedroom two has a double bed.

Located in a quiet neighborhood with plentiful on-street parking and great access to all the sites of Seattle. Walking distance to Green Lake and Phinney Ridge and approximately 5 to 10 minutes by car to downtown Seattle.

About Ronda Hamilton

When not staying in the Phinney Cottage we can often be found traveling the world or staying at our country property outside Seattle. We enjoy traveling and often stay in vacation rentals ourselves.

Ronda Hamilton purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Ronda Hamilton chose Seattle

After falling in love with the Phinney neighborhood we purchased the cottage in 2007. We thoroughly enjoy the area and still stay in the house often.

What makes this cottage unique

Location and comfort! We stay regularly at the cottage ourselves so it is very important to us that it is truly a 'home' to you when you are there.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Wanted to thank you for a WONDERFUL cottage to stay in for our time

in Seattle! My family had a perfect vacation and we loved staying in

your home in Phinney! Was a great location, perfect amenities,

comfortable home! We loved it and hope that we can visit in the

future! My brother's in the area -- so he's happy to be our tour guide

when we come!

Thanks again for everything!

Cutest Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cottage by Greenlake. The owners were very helpful with restaurant and cafe suggestions as well.

Everything was clean, organized and comfy. We will stay here again and never use a hotel in Seattle now that we have this special place.

The neighborhood was quiet, the lake nearby was super fun to ride the bikes to and people watch and Phinney Ridge up the hill had cafe's and restaurants so you don't have to go far. We like Fremont and Ballard and so the location was perfect for us-easy to get to both areas.

Owner's Response: Hi Sonya. I loved hearing from you when you went to some of the restaurant’s I recommended. Food in this town is good and there are so many places to try! I’m happy to hear you had a splendid visit to your old home town and that you will try more vrbos! My husband and I love to stay in them all over the world. A house beats a hotel just about every time!

Location is the best of this house

  • 3 of 5

House is clean but needing some upgrades and updates in some things like the mattress of the second bedroom. Everything related to bathroom and appliances worked fine.

Have the feeling that price is on the high side.

Ronda was very nice and replied immediately to every mail and request we had.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. I will definitely put buying a new mattress for the 2nd bedroom on my list for updating (which we do every fall). Hope you enjoyed visiting Seattle!

Relaxing walkable area

  • 5 of 5

Really nice house. It's older, but high quality. We didn't get to play in the back yard a lot, but it was a very nice space for my daughter to run off some energy. I was a little worried about the walk ability, but after you make it up the hill, there are a lot of shops and restaurants. Woodland Park is a nice walk away, as is the rest of Greenlake.

Despite no designated parking, parking on the street was never an issue.

Cozy family cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four stayed two nights at the Dragonfly Cottage in September. After a long day of travel we immediately felt at home when we arrived to the house. It's very cozy, charming, clean and comfortable. Even though it's small, we still felt we had plenty of space with the functional living room and relaxing back yard. Our 3-year old twin boys were excited to see Rhonda had left them a wagon, tricycle and several toys to play with. We had a few friends over for a BBQ and enjoyed the ambience of the outdoor fire pit in the evening. The cottage was well stocked with plenty of towels and other amenities. We enjoyed stretching our legs and letting the boy's burn off steam running around Green Lake. The cottage is easily accessible with ample parking and an excellent location for quick access to downtown. Our only regret is that our visit was too short. We look forward to staying at the Dragonfly during our next Seattle getaway!

Host went out of her way to help us. Cozy house in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in Seattle. The house was perfect for our family of four. The place was clean a cozy. And Ronda went out of her way to help us after we checked out when we realized we left some items in a drawer. We would definitely stay here again.

Memorable Stay

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely, warm, clean home in a quiet, convenient location. We weren't familiar with the area prior to our stay, but we fell in love with the neighborhood. Green Lake is 2 blocks east and provides lots of activities (walking/running path; boats for rent, swimming, tennis). Greenwood Ave is a few blocks west and has a variety of restaurants (loved Ridge Pizza), coffee shops, and a grocery store. We didn't have a car, but the bus provided a direct route to all of the downtown attractions. The rental process was seamless and all necessary information is provided both electronically and in written form at the home. If we return to Seattle, we will stay here again without hesitation.

Car: recommended

Dragonfly cottage is located part of the way up the Green Lake side of Phinney Ridge. This neighborhood is full of traditional craftsman family homes about 5-10 minutes north of the downtown core by car. Seattle Center including the Experience Music Project, Science Fiction Museum and Space Needle can be reached quickly. The Seattle waterfront is less than 10 minutes by car as well.

On top of the ridge you'll find great bars and restaurants including Oliver's Twist, Chupacabra and assorted others. Woodland Park Zoo is about 10 blocks north of the house.

Green Lake park is a short 3 minute walk from the house and has a running and biking trail around it which makes for a great morning or evening outing.
