About Nancy Ann Johnson
I am a semi-retired pharmacist that enjoys the outdoors. I recently purchased my parents long time compound on this beautiful river and enjoy renovating properties and spending time with my 2 darling pugs. I recently moved here from Muskegon, Mi, but have spent many years enjoying the area when we came as children to our cabin.
Nancy Ann Johnson purchased this Cabin in 2017
Why Nancy Ann Johnson chose Branch Township
I chose to purchase this property to keep it in the family, and it is next door to my residence. I love this area because it is quiet and peaceful with no traffic or city noise. I enjoy the ever-changing views of the river, and woodlands. Although, I am not a fisherman myself, my dad was an avid fisherman, hunter, and lover of the outdoors.

Nice and peaceful
Very nice place with lots of widelife around. Love the porch overlooking the river.
The property was awesome! It was beautiful, and the multi level deck with fire pit was great!
This is an excellent location the cabin was really clean and well taken care of! Neighbors were a little closer than I expected but you wouldn’t have known they were right there you didn’t see them or hear them it was very secluded and we did go in October which probably made it more secluded Because no one was on the river.
Since we did go later in the season most of the activities were closed for winter which starts October 1, and then there are no more river excursions or dune rides or fishing excursions. We went to a lot of the light houses and it was really pretty and they are considerably close to the cabin.
Only negative thing I can think of is the well water had a stinch. Not sure if that’s normal or just the time of year. We did by jugs of bottled water for our coffee, cooking and drinking.
I would definitely go back and stay at Nancy’s again!!!
The leaves were breathtaking! And seeing Lake Michigan was Amazing! I had never seen a Great Lake before!
Awesome time away!
We were able to spend some down time on the deck and watch the kayakers and tubers floating down the river. The home was inviting and welcoming. The cabinets were full of glasses, dishes, pots and pans. Our Westie, named Elfey, was welcomed and loved the water. We hope to return with our adult children next year. Very enjoyable and extremely relaxing.
Nancy is a wonderful hostess, and her two pug dogs were as friendly as could be. From the bottle of wine that welcomed us to her home, to the generous lending of her two kayaks for river fun, Nancy's hospitality was touching. The location on the banks of the Pere Marquette River is wonderful, and we sat on the porch watching the water and abundant wildlife for hours. The kitchen is well stocked with pans and dishes, and the towels were plentiful. The beds were comfortable. There were a few minor maintenance issues, but all in all, we were very happy with our stay.
A clean, comfortable house right on the river. Beautiful location. Hope to return next summer!
Best time ... kids loved it.
