We recently spent a few days over the Thanksgiving holiday here with our dogs and loved it. The house is warm and inviting, and our dogs particularly loved romping around in the huge backyard!

I kid you not, the moment I walked in, I thought to myself, "Well, this is perfect!" It was. It was perfect for us. Cozy little living space with two couches, a dining area, great kitchen, large bathroom, and a good sized bedroom with a view out to the backyard. Our dogs LOVED the backyard! The place was very clean, had fantastic, eclectic/bohemian decorations, and even smelled good! Like cedar or something fresh, yet woodsy. Nothing negative to say. We would absolutely love to stay again!

Why they chose this property

This neighborhood is the perfect intersection of peaceful, friendly, exciting (hello, bears!) and close to adventure. You can enjoy world-class mountain bike trails from right out the door, or hike/run to Fallen Leaf Lake and back on mostly single track trails. This is the perfect spot to park your car for the weekend, hop on your bike or take the bus, and enjoy all South Lake Tahoe has to offer without worrying about parking and driving later.

What makes this property unique

We are so grateful for our 0.25 acre yard and huge mature Jeffrey Pines, something that drew us to this spot in the first place. It is so refreshing to wake up surrounded by towering trees and the smell of forest all around. And then we discovered the delicious burgers at the Classic Cue, Thursday trivia night at South Lake Brewing, fresh pasta at Cascade Kitchens, and the best pastries in town at Crazy Good Bakery - all within walking distance.

The home is cozy and the location is right for a perfect weekend to settle in and chill out. Heavenly Ski Resort is just 12 minutes away and Kirkwood Mountain is about 40 minutes away - maximize your mountain adventures from this central home base.
