The Space:

This West Beach home sits within a very short walk (200 yards) of the beach. 370 Red Bay is a five-bedroom, four-bathroom home that accommodates up to eight people with two king-size beds and four twin beds. There are two bedrooms upstairs (a king guest room and another guest room with two twin beds), each with its own bath. On the lower floor, there's a main bedroom with a king-size bed and its own bathroom, as well as another bedroom with a pair of twin beds that shares the fourth bathroom, and a queen bedroom. Additional features include multiple decks, a gas grill, three TVs (including a 42-inch TV in the family room), Blu-ray and DVD players, wireless internet, a two-person tub, and an updated kitchen renovated in 2012. This home has parking for up to three cars.



This non-smoking vacation rental property includes parking, 24-hour security in a gated community, central air conditioning, cable TV, internet, a DVD player, a fully equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, linens and bath towels, a departure housekeeping service, and a starter supply of paper products and detergents.

First of all the location of the house is amazing. It literally is a very quick walk to a beach access that was pretty deserted. The house bedrooms and layout was conducive to having multiple people. The house definitely needs a refresh. It has very old worn out throw rugs and that really needs repainting on walls and trim. You can tell it has been well used. The reason we rented the house was because it had essentially two Master suites. There was one master suite in an addition area, which is really large and has a very nice bathroom. Unfortunately, that whole addition part of the house which includes the master suite and an additional den is extremely humid and musty. The furniture in the secondary den is very worn out and stained. The primary den has a really large sectional, but it is also very stained and worn out. The other bedrooms are comfortable, but the large master suite was so humid, it was almost impossible to sleep in. We talked to management and they said that they could not bring a dehumidifier. They also said they had not heard of that problem before which I find extremely hard to believe.They had offered to bring a portable air conditioner, but then never did. I would stay at this house again due to the house, layout and location if they install a dehumidifier. There is a really large dehumidifier in one bedroom, which is extremely loud and if it works -only serves 1/2 of the house. The other half of the house is way too humid.

We have stayed in this house at least 5 times and we love the location and the size and layout of the house. The house has become outdated, lack of kitchen supplies, dishwasher does not clean well, There was a strong smell of dog in the back den. Everything seems worn down over the years. Needs updating!!!!!

Perfect home for a family

This was our 5th trip to Kiawah, and this home is perfect for a family with a bunch of kids. The open spaces, numerous bedrooms, and great kitchen were exactly what was needed. The home is on a quiet street backing to a pond and was a short and easy walk to the beach even for our younger kids. I hope we can stay here again on our next trip to Kiawah.

Great location. Big house. The property team was very responsive when we had a minor issue. The house was clean. However the house is tired. Some of the beds were very uncomfortable. The back room had a musty smell.

A true get-away

The house was perfect for our large group! We were around the corner from the ocean which worked out well! The island is quiet and beautiful! Lovely setting!

Great location; great stay

Listing as advertised. Short five minute walk to the beach: Best part of the property. TVs have streaming capability. Property did not provide any beach toys or equipment which was a first in our eight trips to Kiawah. No access to the garage.

Family holiday

Spacious home, set up beautifully for family gatherings. Clean, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of comfortable seating, tables to play games and do puzzles. Wonderful selection of books to choose from and plenty of places to curl up and read. Great beach access, although the closest boardwalk was closed for reno, the next was only 5-7 mins away.

Spacious home perfect for large family gatherings

This home is even better than pictured and exceeded our expectations. We had an extended family group including 3 small children. We loved having 2 large living areas, the kitchen was well equipped, and the bedrooms are spread out so the children did not disturb each other. It is also just a short walk to the beach. We are big fans of Kiawah and enjoyed our stay in this home very much!

Perfect multi-family house

We had a delightful stay. There were two families, one was with a 3 year old and 18 month old and another with an eight month old and 3 year old. Plenty of space, plenty of beds, tons of towels, clean, well stocked kitchen, quick walk to the beach, nice little bike ride to night heron park… we’ll be back!

Great for extended family!

The layout of this house was perfect for our group which included young adults, parents and a grandparent. Comfortable spaces for all, enjoyed a jigsaw puzzle on a rainy day while others cheered on football in the large back living area. We fed a crowd to celebrate a birthday, seating 16+. Had quiet retreat space for everyone when needed. A well equipped kitchen - the labels in cabinets are great, plenty of fridge and freezer space as well as plenty of pantry selves for groceries. The kitchen is built for cooking and we used it! The library of books, games and puzzles was a welcome surprise. The large laundry room provided an extra storage area. Easy access to the beach made for fun bike rides and walks. This house reminds me of beach trips of my youth - an old fashioned family beach home that is casual and welcoming, without being fussy. We will come back to 370 Red Bay!

Fun weekend getaway.

Kiawah is one of our favorite beaches to visit. This house had all the comforts of home. We enjoyed the beautiful well stocked kitchen and there was plenty of space to spread out. The beach was only a block away and we loved biking the bike paths!

Great Floor Plan

This was a very comfortable home. Wonderful layout with large common area as well as separate areas that allowed all to enjoy whatever they wanted to do. Short walk to the beach. There were several small maintenance issues (e.g., problem with lock box, ice maker didn’t work, etc.), but VRBO staff responded quickly.

Just stayed in the house. Some rooms slightly run down, damp and dingy; found half a dozen live cockroaches over the course of a week. Generally not a very clean house. Easy walk to the beach is great

Other than those 2 complaints, we've rented the house for 2 weeks next year with hope that these items will be remedied. Also, providing beach chairs would be wonderful.
