Casa 'il Pero” is a portion of a beautiful Villa in Todi (Umbria). The house was built in 2006, over the remains and in the style of a historical farm. The house provides all the comforts of vacation living and it is in a delightful location. Only 50 meters from the medieval walls of the town, and 150 meters from the Porta Perugina, it stands at the Center of an estate featuring aged oaks, walnut trees, olive trees, and fruit orchards.

The Villa is composed of two fully independent apartments: 'il Pero' mainly on the second floor and “il Gelso”, also advertised exclusively on VRBO/HomeAway, on the first (ground) floor. Both houses can be rented so to live a special vacation with family and friends!!

'Il Pero” is fully furnished and fully equipped, including an HD Cable TV, high speed internet (Wi-Fi), a microwave, a blow drier, a Webber barbecue and a washing machine. The space in front of the entry door can be used for dining or to relax. The master bedroom and the second bedroom (first floor) have a spectacular view of the Umbrian Hills. Central heating (natural gas) gives great comfort. The kitchen (integrated into the dining and living room) is totally equipped. A big sun umbrella is available to give shade on the terrasse. The apartment sleeps 4 persons in total, 2 in a queen-size bed in the master bedroom and 2 in single beds in the other room. The house has outdoor parking space, quite unique feature for a house in Todi.

Peaceful and secluded, the house is very conveniently located near the historic center of Todi. It provides the ideal location for day-trips to places of very high artistic, historical, natural and religious interest. In less than one hour drive guests can reach Orvieto, Perugia, Spoleto, Assisi (St. Francis), Spello, Cortona, Trevi, Lake Trasimeno, the Carsulae Roman Ruins, Arezzo (Piero della Francesca Frescoes), Norcia, Cascia and many other Umbrian and Southern Tuscan Towns (Siena is 90 minutes by car, Florence and Rome are 2 hours ). Also within one hour drive there are exceptional naturalistic sites such as “Cascata delle Marmore” (the largest waterfalls in Italy), Monti Sibillini and several natural parks.

About Adele

The Villa was built in 2006 by our family, on the site of an old Umbrian farm. Our family has lived in Todi for 3 generations. Our grandfather first built his home in the center of Todi. Our father has built this Villa. The owners, Francesco and his wife Alessandra got married in Todi and now live in Milan.

Francesco, the owner, is a scientist and also a painter. He loves to spend in Todi some days in spring and fall to paint the beautiful views from this house. Our family built this house in order to be our vacation home, caring for every detail and loving every corner of it. We welcome our guests very warmly and we are excited that they can enjoy our home. The first floor apartment is owned by Giovanni, brother of Francesco.

Adele purchased this apartment in 2006

Why Adele chose Umbria

This property is unique. It i surrounded by olive trees and fruit trees. Still it is walking distance from the center of the city of Todi. It is ideal for people who like doing cultural, artistic and religious tourism in Umbria and Tuscany. It is ideal in the summer (breezy and not too hot), in the fall (harvesting season) in the winter (for the wonderful holidays decorations and activities in the small umbrian towns) and in the spring (a great time to be in Todi).

What makes this apartment unique

The home is ideal to relax in the front patio, to enjoy the view of Umbrian hills from the bedroom terrace or to take leisurely walks to the wall and to the center of Todi.

Moreover it is a great location for day-trips to historic and artistic towns.

Gorgeous and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 3 had the most lovely part of our trip at Adele and Alessandro's immaculate apartment. It was beautiful and completely equipped with everything you need. Adele, was lovely and so helpful in giving suggestions and answering questions about the area. There are so many interesting places to visit close by, but Todi was so wonderful it was hard to stray away from home base. The grounds at Casa Il Pero are gorgeous and relaxing. There is an olive orchard, fruit trees and a garden where we picked fresh vegetables for our dinner one night. Adele also had picked a basket full of apricots and placed them in the apartment upon arrival. Yum! We absolutely loved our stay and look forward to returning in the future. This is a MUST stop on your trip to Italy. Umbria was by far our favorite part of our trip which included Milan, Rome, Venice, Tuscany and Liguria. Thank you again Adele and Alessandro for your warm hospitality and attention to every detail! Ciao! Until we meet again!

A little bit of paradise in Todi

  • 4 of 5

We have never had such a warm welcome as we experienced here! Adele had thoughtfully prepared for our arrival and was waiting to greet us and show us around. The villa is very well equipped and comfortable and had everything that was needed by the 4 adults and baby in our group. We enjoyed sitting outside and using the BBQ in the evenings, but there was a folder full of information about places to eat in Todi.

The town has a fascinating history and we were lucky to be able to talk with Claudio, Adele's father, about it. He recommended a day trip to Spoleto and it is really worth a visit. Adele told us about a magnificent cheese shop - Montecristo (I think) which sells only local cheeses which are wonderful.

Situated where it is in Umbria, Casa del Pero is brilliantly placed for touring around the area, but we also enjoyed days spent in the villa and gardens. There is a gazebo in the olive grove which has a spectacular view of the countryside...ideal for an evening glass of prosecco.

We have rented many villas and apartments in all parts of Italy and this has to be one of the best. Thank you, Adele, for making our holiday such a lovely experience.

Excellent place to spend Christmas!!!

  • 5 of 5

Amazing Umbria location for my house hunting adventure. Easy to find and Adele was the best hostess ever. The place is well represented by the pictures, spotless house and large bedrooms/bathrooms. Having the fireplace with endless amounts of wood to burn was a plus. These 6 days in Todi was the best part of my 15 day trip to Italy, and I would highly recommend this place as your central location and sight seeing. Thanks again Adele for everything!

Beautiful House in the Middle of an Olive Tree Orchard

  • 5 of 5

The house is located just outside of the walls of Todi and is perfect to use as a home base to visit other small towns in the area. The owners are accommodating, friendly and helpful. This is the second time I have stayed at this house and would not hesitate to return. The property is very well maintained and clean. I would highly recommend this property.

Lovely and quiet, and walkable to Todi

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Casa del Pero was great from beginning to end. Guido, the property manager, and Adele, the owner, couldn't have been nicer, and the whole place was spotless. Walking the path through the olive and cherry trees to get to and from town was like a scene from a movie (except for the huffing and puffing - Todi is a HILL town!). Bathrooms were spacious and well-equipped, beds comfy, and the site is beautiful. We even had a few sheep nearby that we enjoyed seeing. The "property book" in the unit was an extremely helpful resource, with great ideas about things to do and excellent dining recommendations. We would definitely return!
