About Allison Owings

Our family lived in this house year-round for several years; however, when the kids grew up and went to college, we moved into town and used the house for the summers. Recently, we've grown older and aren't using the house as much so we've decided to rent it out and share the beauty. Our family was born and raised in Charleston and love the lowcountry with a passion. What a great place to live!

Allison Owings purchased this house in 1987

Why Allison Owings chose Charleston Area

Having rented homes on Folly Beach throughout our childhoods, we finally decided this was where we wanted to be. The beach, the water, boating and the views are incomparable. We built this house in 1987 and have loved it dearly ever since. Truly our family home with such great memories.

What makes this house unique

The view of the sunsets from the front porch simply can't be beat. There's nothing more beautiful than sitting on the porch with your family watching a summer storm roll in, watching the sun dip below the marsh, seeing the dolphins swim by from the dock, and watching the joy on your children's faces as they jump from the dock, pull in a fish, or catch a crab!

Wonderful vacation spot on Folly Beach

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for relaxing and celebrating a close friend's birthday. The porch is perfect for long summer afternoons of hanging out and reading. The porch overlooks the intercostal, and we saw dolphins swimming every evening. Allison was very accommodating and helpful during the lead up to the trip, the check-in and checkout.

Definitely recommend this place!

Awesome vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time. My grown kids said this was the best place we have ever stayed on Folly. There was plenty of room. Plenty of parking. The accommodations were excellent. The kitchen was well kept and equipped for whatever we needed. The dock was a hit for fishing. The guys caught several fish which we ate and caught several good sized sting rays. We borrowed a canoe and paddled around. Boaters in the Folly River were conscientious of our raft and canoe and slowed down. We bought a huge raft that we tied up to the floating dock and the twins played on that the entire time. The dolphins were swimming close by so we got to watch them feed and play. There was always a breeze on the dock which made it nice to just sit and relax. We sat on the porch in the early morning and evening to watch the sunset and there was always a breeze. The weather was great too. We rented a golf cart and a couple of bikes to get around on the island and that was fun. Even though the beach was not far we only made it there once since we were having so much fun on the dock. Thank you for letting us stay in your house. We will do it again.

A wonderful visit from start to finish

  • 5 of 5

Our family, consisting of three grandparents, 3 uncles, 4 grandchildren, including 2 15 month old twins, had a wonderful stay. From almost the moment we got there, we were out on the dock into the Folly River, either just relaxing, or fishing. The home itself was open, and very comfortable for all of us. The kitchen was huge, and lots of room for all of the cooking that we did as a family. We used the charcoal grill in the garage to cook hamburgers our last night, and that was very easy. We rented a golf cart in town to be able to get around with out the necessity of a vehicle and that worked out great.

All in all, if you are considering a visit to Folly Beach, this home is very welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Folly Beach. The house was perfect for our family. The bedrooms are comfortable. The kitchen is large with an island that is open to the dining room and very well equipped. The living room is large and comfortable with a large flat screen TV. There is a large front porch that looks out over the marsh. It was beautiful. We rented bikes and explored the island from one end to the other. We had a very delicious meal at Rita's in town. The beach is only a few blocks away. It was very fun weekend. Thank you Allison.

I stayed for a long weekend and the description does not do it justice. The sunset was the best I have ever seen by far. Absolutely breathtaking. I actually proposed to my girlfriend on the private dock overlooking the sunset. Going into the trip, I was nervous that the views would not be as described, but they were that and more. The porch is great and allowed additional relaxation area. We were able to see dolphins swimming down the inlet most of the days we were there. They were literally 50 yards from the end of the dock. Just amazing. The fishing poles and crab traps were great fun, and we were able to use them right off of the private dock.

Dealing with the owner was very easy and she was prompt in responses. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a trip to Folly Beach.
