A welcoming front porch and year-round clubhouse access add options between beach trips.
THE SPACE
Inside, Star Cottage unfolds into a bright, open living space designed for coming together. The soaring ceilings and dramatic stone fireplace are the focal point in the living room, surrounded by plush seating and curated lake-inspired details that invite conversation, games, or quiet evenings by the fire. The kitchen flows seamlessly into the living and dining areas, featuring a generous island with bar seating, crisp white cabinetry, and everything needed for easy group meals. Just beyond, the sun-filled dining nook is framed by windows, creating a warm, relaxed setting for meals any time of the day.
Three thoughtfully arranged bedrooms offer comfortable retreats for every guest, from a serene signature suite with private bath to charming upper-level rooms. Crisp linens, soft lighting, and relaxed Lake Michigan style make each space feel calm, cozy, and quietly inviting.

Outdoor living is a highlight at Star Cottage, with a welcoming front porch, a spacious screened porch designed for lingering meals and evening conversation, and a backyard fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs for cozy nights under the trees. A gas grill makes it easy to enjoy relaxed outdoor dinners, while a quiet pond just beyond the yard adds a peaceful backdrop for unwinding. Guests also enjoy access to the heated community pool from late May through early October, along with year-round access to the neighborhood clubhouse, perfect for extending your lake days well beyond the beach.
Star Cottage is in Lakeshore Cottages, a private neighborhood of 32 homes in the heart of Union Pier. Walk to Townline Beach for swimming, dune paths, and Lake Michigan sunsets, then head into town for shops, galleries, and seasonal markets. Black Currant Bakery is a favorite for pastries, and Skip’s Farmers Market is an easy stop for local produce and picnic staples. When you want a bigger shoreline day, Warren Dunes State Park is nearby, and the area’s wineries and breweries make a great afternoon plan between beach time and dinner.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
To ensure a safe and compliant stay, all guests are required to complete identity verification prior to check-in. A valid government-issued photo ID will be collected and verified, and the name on the ID must match the credit card used for payment. When applicable, a background screening may also be required as part of the booking process.
All guests are required to review and sign Juniper Holiday + Home's Guest Occupancy Agreement prior to check-in. While we understand that events can affect your trip, it is our policy to stick to the agreed-upon cancellation policy in the listing. We recommend purchasing vacation travel insurance if you suspect you may need to cancel your reservation.
The minimum age to rent this home is 25.
The community pool is seasonal and will be open from Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day. Specific Open and closure dates are scheduled by the community.
We welcome one dog, up to 40 pounds, at this home at no additional charge. Please include your dog in the reservation details or let our team know after booking.
A non-refundable Accidental Damage Waiver is included with your reservation. This waiver covers accidental damage or loss to the rental property caused by you or members of your party, up to a maximum of $2,000. This plan does not cover intentional acts, gross negligence, or willful misconduct.
Out of respect for our staff and their families, we do not permit check-ins or check-outs on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Thank you for your understanding.
