Overview

About the property

Lush Jungle Property Just 10 Minutes To The World Famous North Shore Beaches

Unit: Maliko Gingerbread House | Maui Guidebook

Summary

This just-remodeled 1930’s era cottage sits among forest and a lush jungle valley alongside the Maliko Stream in Haiku. You can walk jungle trails, or stroll next door to the Sacred Garden (same owners.) Jimmie Hendrix fans will definitely be interested in knowing he lodged here during the filming of Rainbow Bridge in 1970.

While it feels like it’s miles away from anything, this location is actually quite centrally located. You can be at the beach, restaurants, shops, zip line, Makawao Town, Haiku Town or Paia Town in five to ten minutes.

There is a wild coffee plantation, tropical fruit (papaya, coconuts, avocado, tangerines, banana, oranges, limes, lemons, grapefruit, lychee, lilikoi (passion fruit) and guava (help yourself!) Tropical flowers abound – including ginger, haliconia, angel’s trumpet, orchids, water lily, lotus, bird of paradise…the list goes on.

The most mellow-friendly gentle-giant of a dog named Bodhi lives on the property and loves to visit guests (He doesn’t bark and is totally loving – you’ll want to bring him home with you :)

Note: WiFi Internet is available on property, but there is no Internet or TV inside the cottage.

Positively perfect!!!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was the perfect romantic escape for two! If you are seeking a peaceful retreat from the crowds and resorts, this is it! Not far from anything, yet very private. The owner was gracious to let us check in early so we could change clothes for the highly recommended performance of "Ulalena" in Lahaina. The property is very clean, comfortable, and relaxing. I feel blessed to have found this gem.
