About Darlina Eichman
Hi. I was born and raised in Colorado Springs and have a true love of the mountain lifestyle and beauty. Most of my family lives here, so I grew up with tons of aunts, uncles and cousins. I met my husband while attending Colorado College and we now have one son and three grandchildren living here. It's not only a splendid place to live but is on the top of many Americans' touring list. Even as Colorado natives, we never run out of things to do. We love to hike, bike, ski, river raft, attend camps and colleges and shop at the local stores in Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City. Each summer we attend the Colorado Renaissance Festival, which is a lot of fun!
Darlina Eichman purchased this House in 2013
Why Darlina Eichman chose Monument
We searched all over the central front range for the best location to put our vacation home and found it in Monument. What's so special about Monument? It's quiet. The views are incredible. There is easy access to restaurants, big box stores and local coffee shops. Plus the small historic town has the nicest people!
What makes this House unique
Growing up with a view of Pikes Peak made me think that every kid had a mountain in his/her backyard. After living many years in my young adulthood in other states, I began to appreciate how much beauty, spiritual calm and fun awaited me in my home town. When I moved back, I took advantage of the things I had taken for granted and fell in love with Colorado. My husband is originally from Wisconsin and he loves the milder Colorado winters. The springtime is sweet with fragrant flowers. Summers are dry (except for the occaisional July downpour that will soak you wet and be gone in 20 minutes) and cool at night. Autumn makes Colorado colorful. Our Colorado vacation home shows off all these attributes.

Perfect location and so comfortable!
We love everything about the Monument home. Perfect size and place. Just like home away from home
Thanks for selecting our home for your vacation! We're so happy to hear that you and your family had a great time. Please keep us in mind for your next trip to Colorado. We enjoyed having you as our guests.
Great house with great potential.
The house is a nice house in a great area but it was sadly in need of cleaning and upkeep. I chose this house cause of price and features. The hot tub was the deciding factor. We got to the house and it was in bad need of a good cleaning and some upkeep. It appeared the house hadn’t been cleaned after the last people left. Upon arrival I was in awe of the house, but after we got unloaded and were unpacking for 4 days we found the house needed cleaned. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, pizza on the floor, dead flies in various places in the house. I found about 10. After sweeping, running the dishwasher and tidying up other areas it was time to relax in the hot tub. My husband and I got in after our 5 kids were in bed. The breaker kept tripping, so we had to get out. The next day it appeared to work fine, so my daughter and I got in for a little while. The next morning my son got in the hot tub and after a few minutes he came in and said it looked like dead skin floating in it. I hadn’t realized cause both times I was in the hot tub it was dark. Lesson learned, I will never get in another hot tub until I can see what it looks like. In fairness, the owner said she would talk to housekeeping about the state of the house and said she would reimburse a small portion for the breaker tripping in the hot tub.
It is never our intention to disappoint our guests. Our entire staff is focused on making every guest’s experience the best vacation experience possible. Unfortunately our team fell short on a few things during your stay.
Our lead Housekeeper has assured me that she will walk the entire property after each cleaning to ensure that each detail is complete.
The chlorine we use will sometimes solidify if the hot tub is not being used on a regular basis. You were our first renter since September and we should have done a better job of ensuring that it was still crystal clean.
The hot tub breaker repair was made. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
We strive to make all of our guests comfortable, so they have a great vacation. We hope you will consider staying at our home again.
Another awesome vacation at Colorado House
This is our 2nd time staying here, and it was another great time. The hot tub was a huge hit at the end of the day. The home is immaculate and the pantry was well stocked with the spices and items we needed.
Our cadet loved the basement with a bathroom and tv.
The 3 bedrooms upstairs provided plenty of room for the rest of the family. It was adequate space and I didn't feel like we were paying for space we didn't need.
I made sure to book all my future reservations before I wrote this review, this is a gem of home. Close to North Gate, and grocery store right around the corner.
We were so excited to see that your family wanted to stay in our home again. And we're very happy that you had a great time! Our housekeepers appreciated the goodies you left. Thank you for your wonderful review and for choosing our home!
Awesome house near Colorado Springs!
If I could give this home 10 stars I would! From the beginning Darlina was very responsive. The house is very convenient to sites and activities in and near Colorado Springs. But it is remote enough so that you are not dealing with the summer crowds. The house itself is super clean and has a well equipped kitchen if you plan on eating in occasionally. The house is beautiful! Very spacious and very nicely decorated. Bedrooms are spacious and there is a sleeper sofa in the basement too. The hot tub was an added bonus especially in the evening when it's cooler. It was our first time in Colorado and we enjoyed it very much! Thank you Darlina for the use of your home and your hospitality!
I'm so happy that you enjoyed your trip and our home. It's great to know that other people love it as much as we do. Thanks for your wonderful review! We'd love to have you and your family stay again.
This is a beautiful home in a nice neighborhood. Our family couldn't have asked for a nicer stay. Everything from kitchen basics to books, puzzles, and games. We loved having space to spread out, and there was even a pack and play for our youngest. We also enjoyed the hot tub 😀! Owner was very helpful and allowed our family to check in early on our arrival date.
We appreciate your review and kind words! It was our pleasure to have you stay as guests in our home and hope that you'll keep us in mind for your next Colorado trip!
Great location, nice property
Enjoyed our stay here. Nice and close to everything Colorado Springs has to offer, and only an hour from attractions in Denver as well. House was clean, comfortable and located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Would stay here again.
Thank you, Robin for your thoughtful review. We enjoyed having your family as guests in our home and would love to have you back. Darlina
Perfectly situated, our vacation home rests atop a hill on the border of Colorado Springs and Monument. You'll love the view of the front range, including Pikes Peak and the Air Force Academy. Love shopping? A brand new 120,000 square foot Bass Pro Shop is now open and is about 5 minutes away. The Factory Outlet at Castle Rock is a quick and beautiful 28 minute drive. Denver and all of its attractions are only 45 minutes away.
