The Tidewater is the kind of place where two couples naturally settle into a relaxed coastal rhythm. Mornings begin with coffee and ocean views. Days drift toward long beach walks just steps from the villa. Evenings end on the balcony with a glass of wine and the sound of the waves.

Located only about 100 yards from the beach, Tidewater offers incredibly easy access to the shoreline. In just a minute or two you can be walking along the sand or enjoying the ocean breeze.

Inside, the villa is bright, stylish, and comfortable. The living room opens to an ocean-view deck, perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. The kitchen features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, making it easy to prepare breakfast before heading out or enjoy a simple dinner together.

The layout is especially ideal for couples traveling together. Two king master suites provide comfort and privacy, each with a smart TV and beautifully prepared bedding. Week at the Mariah….

Overall, I’d call this one of the better VRBO options on Kiawah. Perfect location. Steps from the beach which is a MAJOR convenience advantage when packing all of your beach gear to and from. We would absolutely stay here again.

The space is beautiful, light, comforting, quiet. It is a little bit of a maze to get there and get everything up to the third floor, but once we settled in, we had a very lovely, relaxing, mindful, and peace-filled time.

Perfect spot on the beach!

This property has great views of the ocean and was just what we needed. We were close enough to the sand that we could walk on the beach in the mornings, come back for lunch and go out again to sit and watch the waves. The Ocean Course was gorgeous and we enjoyed visiting several on property restaurants as well as surrounding area restaurants, shopping and fresh seafood markets. We hope to visit again next summer!.

Perfect location

Wonderful place for our family of 4 ( grown children in their 20’s). Close to the beach. Nice views of the ocean from upper level master. Very comfortable beds. Host was very helpful pre and post stay. Provided helpful info through out. Check in and out process easy. Highly recommend!! Very clean as well.

Perfect!

The stay at this Kiawah villa was perfect. It’s a short walk to the beach with the boardwalk to the beach very close by. The week we were there it was low tide during the day, and the beach was SO wide. The villa was beautifully decorated, VERY clean (and I’m pretty picky about that) with beautiful views of the ocean, especially from the upstairs bedroom. Also, nice touch with flowers, and some lights and music on when we arrived. The kitchen is very well equipped and very organized. We would definitely stay here again!

Mariah was everything we hoped for. Its location was wonderful with a fabulous view of the beach and ocean. The apartment was very clean, beautifully furnished and very well equipped, particularly the kitchen, and it was obvious a great deal of thought had been put into its set up. The owners arrived to greet us soon after our arrival and responded very quickly to our one request for help. The resort's proximity to Charleston is an added bonus and we were also able to find and play golf on several nearby courses. We would have no hesitation to recommend this property to friends and family.

Location!

Beautiful, comfortable condo and can’t be beat location! The Lawsons were so easy to communicate with and the Mariah had everything we needed for a wonderful week. Beds were super comfy, too.

Warm and Cozy Villa!

This villa worked out great for our family of 4. Nicely decorated and had all the amenities needed for a weeks stay. Comfortable beds, pillows and bedding. I’m always happy to find some staple spices in the kitchen so I don’t need to run to the store. View of the ocean was wonderful and the villa is situated in a nice central location on the island. The owners are very easy to communicate with and we’re very helpful when answering questions about the property and are very familiar with the island itself. Would definitely stay again.

The Mariah was exactly what was in the pictures. Jeanette with Kiawah Island Getaways was awesome to work with. When we arrived, it felt as if they were awaiting our arrival.

Great location although in a more crowded beach area on Kiawah. The condo was nice and well stocked

This condo had a nice view but only from upper bedroom. It was well appointed although the king beds were in rooms very tight for the space. The 1st floor room has poor lighting and the beds were too soft , but ok. I do not feel the property is a value at the price compared to other properties we have rented on Kiawah over the past 20 years. I prefer the less populated areas of the beach, hower this would be good for individuals who have access to the Night heron pool and play grounds.

Just what the Dr. ordered

This home was perfect and met our expectations with ease. The home was nicely furnished with modern furnishings. The kitchen had everything you could possible need for eating at home including some spices and oils. They had more than enough towels and linens and the beach towels was an added plus. The beach was beautiful and clean with an easy walking distance to the Sanctuary and the small convenient store. If you are a golfer the island doesn't fall short on golf courses (7 I think). And the washer and dryer came in very handy. I would recommend this location for a romantic get away or 2 couples or a small family. Thank you very much for letting us enjoy you lovely home.

Shawn's family discovered Kiawah in 1978 and returned year after year for two-week vacations. In 1985 we drove our VW Bug convertible to Kiawah and Shawn introduced me to Kiawah. I remember stepping over the dune boardwalk out in front of the Kiawah Island Inn and seeing Kiawah's wide, sandy beach for the first time - it was so brilliant it practically danced before my eyes. It was during this vacation that the two of us decided to set our sights on moving to this beautiful and fascinating place permanently.

In 1988 our dreams came true and our U-Haul rattled across the Kiawah Island bridge (at that time it was nothing more than a wood-planked bridge). For the next four years we rented a 1-bedroom villa, 4251 Mariner's Watch. Shawn was so thrilled to be living on the island that he applied for the personalized South Carolina license plate 'KIAWAH' (which we still have today).

In 1992, we built our first home on the island at 134 Conifer Lane. During construction, I gave birth to our first son Benjamin - he arrived 2 months early in an ambulance outside of the Kiawah Island Fire Station.

In 2001, we purchased our first villa, a 1-bedroom, beachside Seascape and Kiawah Island Getaways was born. Once we got our feet wet with the villa rental business, it was a like a fever for us. We both really enjoyed furnishing, decorating and maintaining the villas - not to mention the new found fun of meeting and talking to all sorts of people about Kiawah. Because we really enjoy what we do, other Kiawah property owners noticed and we started managing their properties as well.

Our whole family loves Kiawah and running Kiawah Island Getaways is a true family-run business. We personally prepare each villa prior to your arrival - because we want your stay to be perfect. We want you to fall in love with Kiawah too...and we know you will.
