2BED/2BATH Beach flat one block off the sand. Second story home boasting beautiful views over sunny Avila Beach. Originally built in 1954 this home has been completely remodeled but has preserved that nostalgic feeling of the old fishing village it used to be. This property provides everything you would need including an site laundry area. All you will need to bring is your food and suitcases. There is a Private outside deck with Gas BBQ Grill and Patio Furniture to enjoy the sunsets over the Avila Bay. Additional sleeping arrangements are available by way of an air mattress as well. WIFI is available with nice size flat screen televisions through out the home.....

I was born and raised on the Central Coast and I am 4th generation to this area. I come from a family of Fishermen, Abalone Divers and Tug Boat Operators. Avila Beach has always been my playground and back yard and I am very excited to own a property here that enables me to share the fun and beauty Avila Beach has to offer with others.

Also less than 5 minutes away is the San Luis Country Club Golf Course, a par 71, 6500-yard championship course. The front nine is situated within oak-lined valleys. The back nine transverses a tidal estuary. Golfers of all abilities will enjoy the challenge of this scenic course. If you are here for the water activities, Avila Beach is a good choice. Also less than 5 minutes away is Port San Luis which offers, Whale Watching Tours from December through March and Fishing Charters all year round. Due to the break water in the marina, there is over 1 mile of beach that is well known for its gentle waves making it a perfect swimming beach plus the microclimate weather offers one of the warmest beaches on on the Central Coast.

Great spot, spectacular views

My husband and I rented this place so that we could visit with our two sons who are both students at Cal Poly. The location was perfect for the activities that we wanted to do and a quick drive down the freeway for our boys to visit. The unit itself was very comfortable with lots of seating options inside and out. Comfortable beds and well stocked bathrooms made our stay very relaxing and easy. The only reason we rated this unit 4 stars is because the sink drain in the main bathroom doesn't drain well and the drain plug is disconnected and the shower head in the ensuite is clogged wih mineral build up (still usable but not very good flow). Overall, this is a great place in a beautiful setting and we would definitely stay here again!

We picked the hottest weekend of the year to travel to Avila. Overall our experience here was great. Only thing that would've been better was a fan in the living room area to move the fresh air. Great house, great location!

Great location in Avila

This property had was ideal for a stay in Avila Beach, being a block off the beach and beautiful bay view from the balcony.

We had two couples staying, each with their own Queen bed and bath.

Pros

View of bay, location to shops and beach, and close enough to SLO for trips in for dinner. Cost was pretty good in comparison to hotel options

Cons

On the smaller size for living area (OK if you plan a short stay or plan to be out a lot). Pretty basic amenities. Very small shower stall in second bath. Beds were VERY firm. Building next door has flood lights that flood the side of the house and window covers are not adequate to block the light out.

A beautifully remodeled, modern property w/stunning beach views, can walk to beach/bars/restaurants

We thoroughly enjoyed the property. However, I do have some useful feedback for you. I'm considering renting this property again next year for a longer period of time, possibly a week, and my relatives also want to rent the unit next door. The issues that were less than ideal are as follows:

1. Sleeps 5 is NOT accurate. The beautiful, but pleather sofa was very uncomfortable to sleep in. The sturdy plastic material is too hot to sleep on. My son suffered through it for 3 nights. That's my biggest gripe.

2. The coffee pot needs to be replaced. It takes about 1/2 hour to make coffee

3. The refrigerator needs to be replaced. It's old and rusty in some areas and it makes no ice nor dispenses filtered water. For the fee, I feel I shouldn't have to go shlepping into town to find water to drink and ice.

4. Please provide a mopping bucket

5. The lights in the living room are too bright. Come evening, a relaxing lighting would be more cozy, maybe a lamp.

6. The patio umbrella needs to be secured. The wind blew it off its base a couple times, once onto the roof, leaving us w/o shade.
