About the property

2 Bedroom, 2.5 Bathroom, Sleeps 6

Looking for a perfect retreat to the lake at a reasonable price? You have found it! This cabin is nestled in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.

Enjoy a long day on the lake, and afterwards retreat to the cozy insides of this cabin. The cabin has two decks. One of which is screened in, and the other is furnished with a hot tub for your enjoyment! If you do not feel like getting in the hot tub, the fire pit is great for chilly nights.

With enough room for six guests, the cabin is fitted with two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a pullout futon. The cabin is equipped with a fully stocked kitchen for all of your cooking needs (Oven, Stove, Microwave, Dishwasher, Pots and Pans, Dishes, Silverware, Pantry, etc..). There is also washer/dryer for any of your laundry needs. WiFi included!

If you choose bring your own boat or PWC, you are more than welcome to utilize the dock. If you do not own a boat there is a marina located less than a mile down the road that rents an assortment of boats.

This cabin has been in our family for over 20 years, and went through a major renovation in 2001. There is enough parking for several cars if needed, in case the guests are not all traveling together. The living room offers splendid views of the lake, and this room is also equipped with a plasma TV. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we have over the years!

Peace on earth.............

There's nothing about this location and cabin that I didn't love. Well, maybe having to drive through "the Dragon" on Hwy. 129 but I found a better way out when leaving. I would say that I spent the majority of my time in the screened in porch looking out over Lake Santeetlah. The early mornings were so tranquil as well as late evening when the sun was setting. I never even turned the TV on while I was there - there were so many places I wanted to visit and things I wanted to do. Very well stocked kitchen; the beds slept wonderful (even the pillows); the cabin was clean and well maintained and privacy was great. The property owner was great to work with and just made everything very easy and simple. I would definitely stay there again!

Looking out on the beauty of JK Memorial Forrest was splendid. Swimming in the warm waters of LS above relaxing. Enjoyed the comfortable home that belongs to Lois and Zach. Filled with gratitude!

Angler's Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

Great place to get away for me and my son! I really enjoy fishing this lake. The water is some of the clearest I have ever seen. It is nice to have a dock, and not have to worry about pulling the boat in and out everytime we want to hit the lake to fish. The house was very clean as well!

Will be returning!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great few days at the house on Lake Santeetlah! The screened in porch is the perfect place to drink coffee in the mornings. We also really enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings with a view out on the lake! Thank you again Zach for the hospitality! We will contact you soon to plan our next trip!

Super spot on the lake!

  • 5 of 5

My sister & I stayed 4 nights here & loved every second of it! The house was clean, cozy, quaint, and spacious. My favorite "room" was the screened-in porch with a phenomenal view of Lake Santeetlah. The living room and fire pit area also have the same great view as well as the hot tub porch. My sister's favorite spot was definitely the dock as she soaked in the rays. Everything worked great in the home including the wifi, AC, hot tub, W/D, coffee maker, TVs, hot water, microwave, etc. No issues with anything. Kitchen was well-stocked for cooking. Plenty of paper products for our use. No detergent for the W/D though so you may want to bring your own.

Another guest had left some wood for the fire pit and I had a blast building my fire each night with that gorgeous lake in the background. Doesn't get any better!! I restocked the wood before leaving to "pay if forward" for the next guest that has the "firebug" like me. ;-) The last night we were there we got a stunning sunset.

The water temp in the lake was perfect! If we return again I'd love to rent a boat or even some kayaks from one of the marinas. One of them is so close you could walk to it.

There's a great waterfall hike only about a 10 minute drive from the home (Yellow Creek Falls) which we actually did in the rain. I was determined!! ;-) Another fabulous hike was 2 hours away in GA called High Shoals Falls (has 2 waterfalls & is stunning!)

There are a few homes around the lake house but it still felt very private and peaceful. We ate at Lynn's & Tapoco River Grill (both yummo!!) & grabbed a gourmet coffee at The Hub (great selection of coffee drinks).

There are steep stairs from parking area above to front door and also from the home down to the lake but that's a non-issue as long as you watch where you're stepping and aren't carrying too many things. We needed the exercise with all of the vacay food we were eating!

I would LOVE to get back here in fall. The colors must be outstanding at the house and around the lake I bet! But I would go back any season to be truthful. Zach was a true pleasure & always prompt in responding to my questions prior to my arrival. And the price for the location can't be beat IMO.

Lake is beautiful, home ok but not comfortable

Too many steps; some were higher than others. The stone steps were not level and too steep. My husband fell going down to the lake.
