About David Williamson

We are United Methodist pastors at a church in St Augustine and bought this place as our family getaway and investment for retirement.

David Williamson purchased this cabin in 2008

Why David Williamson chose Andrews

We bought this cabin because it was in one of the most beautiful areas we'd ever seen. It is so peaceful and relaxing to listen to the creek bubbling by and there is something to enjoy during every season.

What makes this cabin unique

We like to relax, spend time with family, enjoy the beautiful outdoors, read a book by the creek, hike local trails, fish for trout, and play in the creek.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We made some updates to the cabin during our stay in August 2010. We replaced the unreliable light over the kitchen sink with one that works all the time. We purchased a new gas grill and two Adirondack style rocking chairs for the deck overlooking the creek. We replaced the aging headrests in the Jacuzzi. And our favorite update is a screen door that allows guests to enjoy the cool mountain air and the sounds of the creek while inside the cabin. Finally, we washed, stained and sealed the exterior deck and cabin so the place looks fabulous. We hope you enjoy your stay!

We had an amazing time at this cabin!!! It was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The mountain creek was so much fun for our kids. It was icy cold with the clearest water I've ever seen!! The cabin is close enough to so many locations. We went to the Smoky Mointains, Cades Cove, Gaitlinburg, Newfoundland Gap (highest point on the range), hiked a part of the Appalachian Trail, Nantahala National Forest with whitewater rafting, Cherokee National Forest with rafting, drove the Tail of the Dragon, and visited the Cherokee Indian Reservation which had a ton to do there. After all that, we still missed out on things to do in the area. I highly recommend this cabin!! Oh, and the beds are great!! This place has it all!!

The cabin was beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

The creek behind the cabin was amazing and peaceful. There are trails around the property so if you don't want to leave the cabin for an excursion you can hike within the surrounding woods. Whole experience was very relaxing and peaceful.

perfect cabin getaway, quiet, peaceful, relaxing

  • 5 of 5

I couldn't have picked a better location, in a little cabin community but far enough away you would never know anyone was around you, never saw or heard anyone except a passing car 1-2 during the week. Grocery store and restaurants less than 2 miles away! Nice circle to walk around the river and take it all in, went hiking on local trails. Enjoyed cathedral ceilings in cabin, hot tub when it was cold out, looking at the stars, building a fire, reading a book with the sound of the river..used VRBO a lot and this is one of my favorites. You can do as much or as little as you want with the horseback riding, tubing and hiking just minutes away..will be coming to stay again!

Lovely little creek, but very close to other cabins

  • 3 of 5

We weren't expecting to be so close to other cabins (there are 3 close by), but we enjoyed our stay overall. The stargazing was excellent, the cabin was cozy and it was so relaxing hanging out by the creek.
