Owners Roeby Simons and Emily Coleman built this cozy home in 2005. We have lived in Montana for eighteen years and have been visitors to Yellowstone National Park and Chico Hot Springs since we discovered the beautiful Paradise Valley.
Roeby Simons purchased this house in 2000
In the early 90's we visited Paradise Valley and looked for a permanent home here. We feel lucky to have found this piece of Paradise in the mountains, only two miles from US 89.
We know you will enjoy as we do the private peace and quiet of a beautiful morning sunrise over the Absaroka/Beartooth range, the sunsets and starry skies. You will appreciate, too, the
clear mountain air, spectacular rainbows, local deer, migrating birds, access to local amenities, and a good hot spring soak.
Reasonably priced guest home (most things are quite pricey near Yellowstone). 3 story with beds on 1st and 3rd floors. 1st floor has separate entrance, so families with young kids may not want to stay there or will probably need to split up the family for sleeping. It worked out fine for us. Only 30 miles from the north Yellowstone entrance, and it takes about 30 min to get there. That was perfect for us as we don't like to stay in super busy places. The house is on several acres, so there is plenty of room. We even got to see deer and bunnies in the neighborhood. Owners were very helpful and friendly. They gave us advice on local things to do. They also checked in to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. We would stay again and would recommend it to others.
A cozy little house with an amazing view. I loved sitting on the porch with my coffee and looking out over the valley. Owners were friendly and provided helpful tips about the area.
The place is very private. It is very small and in no way accommodates six people. There are two small beds that are uncomfortable and one would be hard pressed to sleep two adults. The third bed is a couch that is very narrow and uncomfortable as well. He has two futons which are put on the floor but this makes it impossible to walk around. The upper is separated from the downstairs and one needs to walk outside to access it. It is a modified basement. No shower and a strange toilet is shared with the washer and dryer.. The kitchen is tiny and makes cooking for a group difficult. Utensils are old, the kind your kids take to college. It is not within walking distance to the shops in Emigrant. We left the place as one would leave a hotel room and were charged for cleaning. The place was not trashed by any means and the shower was only used one time. I would never stay there again.
Beautiful view, nice clean house
Owner is very nice and accommodating. We recommend staying here to anyone looking for a place to stay. The little town of Emigrant is sweet and I recommend a trip odow to the Old Saloon too.
Cabin was cute, view is beautiful. Easy access to north entrance of Yellowstone. Lovely hospitality as well.
The home is settled in the foothills of the Paradise Valley, a few miles from the main highway. The mountain views were impressive, and from the windows in the house we saw deer, mountain bluebirds, rabbits, and other wildlife. The home was as described, with suitable sleeping arrangements and pads for kids on the floor. There was a nice fire pit with firewood provided off the back porch that worked great for a hot dog roast and s'mores in the evening. As mentioned in other reviews, the drive to Yellowstone is about 30 mins up a beautiful canyon along the Yellowstone River. We didn't make it to the hot springs or to any of the stores in town, but it provided a great and affordable spot for our visit to Yellowstone.
The owners were very kind and friendly, providing a personal tour of the house to begin our stay. They were responsive and helpful throughout the booking process and readily available during our stay. Overall, this was a nice place to stay and met our needs perfectly for a long weekend trip to Yellowstone.
This home was immaculately clean, quiet, and has beautiful views! The owners were very available and helpful as they live right next door. There was room for our family of 5 but the main living area is smaller than it looks. There are two bedrooms with beds and a single pull out in the living room. They do provide sleeping pads for floor sleeping which 2 of our kids used. It is 20 miles from the north entrance of Yellowstone and the drive is beautiful along the Yellowstone River. The town of Emigrant also has a great fly fishing store, an adequate general store, and a couple of very good restaurants.
