Starview is a beautifully remodeled single-floor condo that captures the essence of Palm Springs: the mid-century modern interior design, the clean and bright colors, the light, the California art, and the desert oasis environment.

Starview is an ideal oasis for vacation renters requiring a minimum 30 night stay.

We named it Starview for two reasons: the clear night skies (350 cloudless nights per year) allow you to view the heavens from the patio with our Celestron astronomical telescope; and what Palm Springs is famous for, you can see entertainment stars at numerous venues, view their homes, and perhaps even bump into them on the street.

This condo has it all: location, size and function, grounds and outdoor space, amenities, style, and technology.

Location - Only 3 minutes to downtown and 5 minutes to the airport, we are in the heart of the original Palm Springs.

Size and Function - With 2 bedrooms and a den, Starview can sleep 4 adults and 2 children. In addition to an interior living space of 1600 sf, we have a very private 400 sf patio, 9 foot ceilings, a single car garage and carport right outside your door, and your choice of 2 pools and 2 hot tubs only 100 steps away.

The kitchen is large and modern, with amenities, including a gas cooktop range, for the gourmet chef.

The dining room can accommodate 8 to 12 people.

The living room is large, with a stunning gas fireplace for those cool desert evenings.

The master bedroom has a California king-size bed, a smart TV, and receives the direct morning sunrise (unless you want to lower the light-blocking shades). The master bathroom vanity is 8 feet long with 2 sinks, and the master shower has 2 shower heads. A walk-in closet has ample hanging and drawer space.

The guest bedroom is very private and separate from the other rooms. It has a California king bed, a large reach-in closet, and a TV. The bathroom can be made private or can be used by visitors. It has 2 sink faucets and 2 shower heads.

The den has a desk, TV, credenza, and 2 sofas that can be converted into single beds.

The 400 sf patio is very private with a 6 1/2 foot wall. It receives the full sun in the mornings and provides much-valued shade in the hot afternoons. It's great for outdoor dining and relaxation, and the Weber gas barbeque make grilling a pleasure. The trickling sound of the water fountain will add to your pleasure.

Do your laundry with a large in-suite washer and dryer set.

Style - The vibrant colors, furnishings, lightness, brightness, and simplicity capture the essence of Palm Springs itself. Guests are delighted with the look and feel. We are building the art collection, and are focusing on an abstract theme, mainly by California artists.

Grounds and Outdoor Space - In addition to the very private 400 square foot patio, the oasis-like grounds of the condo complex are absolutely beautiful. There are two swimming pools and 2 hot-tubs with ample lounging chairs. The acres of stunning landscaping offer a gently rolling terrain and numerous lawns with a large diversity of mature palm trees and other subtropical and desert vegetation attracting songbirds, hummingbirds and even a few roadrunners and bunny rabbits.

Technology - Even though the style captures mid-century modern architecture, the technology is definitely 21st century. We are providing 4 smart TVs in the den, bedrooms, and living room, with access to numerous apps including Netflix. Bring your own computer, tablet, and smart phone, and connect them to our internet via hardwire or Wi-Fi. Bring your own music on your smart device and connect to our sound bar via a provided hardwire plug or via Bluetooth. We also provide a wireless Bluetooth-enabled multi-function printer that can fax, scan, and copy. We provide a telephone with free long distance to any North America location. And for the astronomically capable, we offer a smart 8' Celestron telescope that can automatically point to thousands of objects such as planets, nebulae, galaxies, moons, and stars.

And this specific property in the Palm Regency condo complex offers many advantages for getting the best out of Palm Springs: it's close to downtown, it has large spacious units with affordable pricing (translation: it is very cost-effective for renters), and it has meticulously maintained landscaping and grounds. It is simply a pleasure to live here, both inside and outside, and to make this a base of exploring Palm Springs and the greater Palm Springs and Southern California area.

And there are no hidden costs such as pool heating, internet access, and parking. You get a lot for the cost.

This was our first time using VRBO and were extremely pleased with this Palm Springs rental. It is located close to downtown, yet is in a peaceful setting. The condo decor and amenities were excellent. The manager was very helpful and represented the owners in an efficient and professional manner. We will absolutely return! We would like to keep this gem to ourselves, but owe it to the owners to share this lovely property with others!

Location, Location, Location...

This wonderful property is only 5 minutes from the airport, and a 3 minute drive (or 20 minute walk) to downtown Palm Springs with its eclectic Design District, fabulous restaurants, numerous galleries and shops, regular outdoor markets, great entertainment, superb mid-century architecture, and homes of the famous.

The Uptown Design District has dozens of unique owner-operated (no chain stores here) shops and galleries with new and mid century furnishings, art, clothing, and high quality goods in general.

Within 3 to 5 minutes are dozens of high quality restaurants serving creative and fresh delights by the friendliest staff imaginable. These include Tropicale, Trio, Johannes, Jakes, Cheekie's, Copely's, and many others. Many have jazz and popular entertainment. Also nearby are coffee shops such as Koffi with its large outdoor courtyard, nightclubs such as Copa and the Purple Room, and jazz venues such as Woody's.

Take a bike ride to explore the mid-century modern and earlier Spanish architecture, all within a mile or two. There are hundreds of fabulous homes here, many of which were or currently are owned by the rich and famous.

Village Fest is held Thursday evenings downtown, offerings hundreds of local vendors' products, plus entertainment and great people watching. On other days, open-air markets for art and other goods are a regular occurrence. And if you like restored and antique automobiles, downtown Palm Springs is the place to see them.

If you appreciate contemporary art, the Palm Springs Art Gallery is an excellent, well-funded public facility showing some of the most creative and relevant American and international art.

For organized physical exercise taught by professionals, the Spa Casino offers a first class fitness facility at a reasonable price. It is only a five minute bike ride away.

The Palm Springs Convention Center is only a 10 minute walk away. This is a busy place, with many interesting public and private shows, exhibits, and conferences.

And if you're a history buff, there are museums downtown showing the history of Palm Springs, and the Air Museum at the airport showing the history of World War II and displaying a large collection of WWII and later aircraft.

Within 30 minutes of our condo are over 100 golf courses, shopping on Palm Desert's famous El Paseo Drive, the very interesting and child-friendly Living Desert zoo and nature facility, and name acts at casino and community auditoriums. For example, in 2014 you could have seen Roberta Flack, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Chicago, Maureen McGovern, Lily Tomlin, Dianna Krall, and many, many more.

Due to local requirements, rental of Starview must be for a minimum of 30 nights. Rates are subject to change until a deposit has been received. Owner will provide a rental agreement that must be signed at time of deposit.

$1,000 deposit is due at time of booking. Full rental cost including cleaning and pet charges is due 90 days prior to occupancy, and the deposit is converted into a damage deposit that will be returned to renter within 14 days of move-out less any documented damages incurred. A rental agreement including cancellation terms will be provided.
$500 additional deposit if telescope will be used.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
