About Diane Martin

I have been coming to Yosemite since childhood and dreamed of someday owning a cabin in Wawona. As a native Californian, we visited Yosemite often as a family. My family hiked, rafted, and spent time together in this magnificent wonderland.

Diane Martin purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Diane Martin chose Yosemite Area

We chose this location due to the close proximity to the South Fork of the Merced River. In the Spring, you can hear the river and enjoy the seasonal stream. There are oaks and pines on the property and the location is perfect for relaxing on the deck.

What makes this cabin unique

The peacefulness of this location and the charm of the cabin makes one feel right at home.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Great trip - 6th visit so I guess we are hooked. Went horseback riding, reading, hanging out by the river. Crows, Jays, and Deer.

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

On our tour of CA we made a stop to go to Yosemite and stayed at Clouds Rest cabin. It was great. Comfy and well appointed. Beds were comfy. This location was great for our ventures into Yosemite and Glacier Point. Wish we could have seen Mariposa but it was closed for renovations. Otherwise that would have been perfect. This was our first time to the area and as Floridians we were in awe of it all. Next time we want to ride the horses. There is a shuttle that goes to the park from the post office area if you don't want to drive the switchback roads. Not for the faint of heart :-). We would stay at Cloud's Rest again for sure.

Great place to stay in Yosemite.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay here very much. It was well located inside the Park and had all the things to make our stay here very enjoyable. I would recommend that the owner include a more detailed area map to find the property. We had to ask for help the local store to find the house.

Great place to relax!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I loved our stay at Clouds Rest. Even though the weather wasn't great, we had a lovely place to hang out while it rained! And, after a full day in Yosemite Valley, it was great to leave the crowds and go back to the cabin. BTW, we highly recommend the Wawona Meadow Loop Trail. It is just across the road from Big Trees Lodge. It is a 3.5 mile flat loop and is quite beautiful, even if it is raining lightly!

The place was very clean. We immediately noticed the fresh, clean smell when we arrived. Diane worked diligently to address the wifi glitch we had on arrival, which was much appreciated!

Minnetrista, Minnesota, USA

Great quiet, location within Yosemite. Comfortable beds.

  • 4 of 5

Would give the house a 5 except for there was way too much "stuff" on walls and most flat surfaces. Dried and/or plastic flower wreaths, bears, etc. Our allergies kicked in whenever in the house. We think dusty knicknacks were the cause. Otherwise a great place. There are neighbors but you see few people and don't hear them. You really feel that you are in special part of the US. Nearby market has all the basics and much more. Other than our issues with knicknacks the house was very comfortable for 4, clean and the setting is great.
