About Diane Martin

I have been coming to Yosemite since childhood and dreamed of someday owning a cabin in Wawona. As a native Californian, we visited Yosemite often as a family. My family hiked, rafted, and spent time together in this magnificent wonderland.

Diane Martin purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Diane Martin chose Yosemite Area

We chose this location due to the close proximity to the South Fork of the Merced River. In the Spring, you can hear the river and enjoy the seasonal stream. There are oaks and pines on the property and the location is perfect for relaxing on the deck.

What makes this cabin unique

The peacefulness of this location and the charm of the cabin makes one feel right at home.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Great trip - 6th visit so I guess we are hooked. Went horseback riding, reading, hanging out by the river. Crows, Jays, and Deer.

Thanks.

Very well kept cabin in great location near the Merced River

  • 5 of 5

We spend every Christmas at Yosemite. This was our second year at Cloud's Rest. While not the most spacious cabin (but certainly large enough for our family of 3), it is very comfortable, well kept and equipped (dishwasher, washer+dryer, WiFi) and a short walk to the Merced.

Wawona

Cottage was difficult to find with gps & website was down (found out later so were many more). The place was clean, well stocked & nicely decorated. Convenient location for seeing Yosemite then relaxing on the deck.

Quaint & Clean

  • 5 of 5

We loved it. There was plenty of room to prepare for our wedding, and loved that it was a short walk to the river. We would love to go back. Thank you.

So sad to leave!

  • 5 of 5

Another five star review! It was wonderful, exactly as described, plenty of space for a family of four. We loved sitting on the deck and just enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Glacier Point and Sentinel Dome is a great day out, but we also enjoyed just spending time in Wawona. We went on a fascinating morning walk with the local ranger, and the local hotel does a great barbecue on Saturday evenings. We were so sad to leave, we have been lucky enough to come to California for 3 weeks so have been to many places, but Wawona and Yosemite will be fondly remembered for years to come.

Only thing that would be useful is instructions for the washer and drier, they are very different from UK machines!

Comfortable and cozy for 2 couples.

  • 5 of 5

We loved the rustic setting and the doe that greeted us every morning. The cabin was well-equipped, clean, and easily located. Would recommend.
