About Diane Martin

I have been coming to Yosemite since childhood and dreamed of someday owning a cabin in Wawona. As a native Californian, we visited Yosemite often as a family. My family hiked, rafted, and spent time together in this magnificent wonderland.

Diane Martin purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Diane Martin chose Yosemite National Park

We chose this location due to the close proximity to the South Fork of the Merced River. In the Spring, you can hear the river and enjoy the seasonal stream. There are oaks and pines on the property and the location is perfect for relaxing on the deck.

What makes this cabin unique

The peacefulness of this location and the charm of the cabin makes one feel right at home.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Great trip - 6th visit so I guess we are hooked. Went horseback riding, reading, hanging out by the river. Crows, Jays, and Deer.

Excellent location to relax and explore

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this cabin. We had just arrived from Australia and wanted somewhere we could relax and explore Yosemite. The cabin was excellent for both, being inside the park and away from the busy valley. It was very well equipped and we quickly felt at home in Wawona. The General store was very convenient and helpful. Would happily stay again.

A place where even the Clouds Rest

  • 5 of 5

Just back from Clouds Rest. The cabin is well appointed, clean and supplied, and there is a market 50 yards from the cabin. Diane is unobtrusive, but available, and she anticipated nearly all of our needs. The price and proximity to the park was great, bearing in mind it still takes about an hour to drive the 30 or so miles to Yosemite Valley (i.e., much traffic on curvy roads). Doesn't matter, though, because once your in the valley floor, you won't be driving back to the cabin 'til the end of the day. At that point, its time to go a 1/4 mile from the cabin to the Big Tree Lodge (a throwback hotel designed after some of the big resorts on the east coast, like Greenbrier), grab a cocktail and relax your aching feet by the fire. The cabin isn't huge, but great size for two couples and a couple of kids (with two convertible couches). Great value for it's location. Thank you for everything, Diane.

Everything was great for all of us. We weren't able to get on wifi however. No big issue there. We would like to stay there again and will definitely recommend this property.
