About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms , 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Enjoy the beautiful North Shore of Kauai at our lovely Alii Kai I Condominium.

It is a ground floor, corner unit sitting on a bluff overlooking the magnificent Pacific Ocean. In the winter be mesmerized by 15 to 25 foot waves. Whales cavorting in the ocean and albatrosses gliding pass your windows. In the summer, enjoy snorkeling below the condominium. Watch the porpoises (dolphins) playing in the ocean and the turtles cavorting in the waves. Many times you will find a monk seal resting on the lava below the condo. There is a short trail which will take you down to the ocean.

We have internet and WiFi for your convenience. We also have a varied library with many Hawaiiana books for your enjoyment plus games, puzzles, and all the beach equipment you might need. A backpack is ready to go for a hike.

This is a peaceful, quiet Hawaiian-style condominium with the rooms looking out onto the ocean and the cool tradewinds wafting through the unit. The sunrises can be spectacular. A wonderful way to relax! While dining at the table, you can watch for the Tropic Birds that are looking for their meal out in the ocean.

Great location and view with a very clean and functional condo

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I shared this condo with our nephew and his wife for 7 nights. Everything worked out fine and Evelyn, the owner was available to answer our questions and deal with any problems though we had no signifiant issues during our stay. This was our second stay in an Alii Kai condo with an ocean view and both times it was a real treat. We love the north shore of Kawaii and have stayed in Princeville many times over the years and will be sure to return again. The condo was very clean and all appliances and plumbing worked properly. The price was very reasonable and the ocean view is worth a million dollars. Our only regret was that we came a little too early to see the the whales off the shore that we saw in Feb. of 2015 from another condo in this complex. Plenty do do as always and in December we were treated to spectacular waves and had very little rain though the wind was very strong for a couple of days which only made the rough seas even moe dramatic. If we could rent this condo again in Feb. or early March we would love to return but it is apparently booked solid for those months by a family for many years into the future.

Dolphins, whales and rainbows! What a fantastic view.

  • 5 of 5

We were visiting Kauai to celebrate my father’s 60th birthday.

The view really is amazing. We enjoyed drinking our coffee as the waves rolled in. We were luck enough to see dolphins, whales and rainbows during our stay. The accommodations were wonderful and larger than expected. The unit is equipped with beach accessories and even some toys for our two year old. We had a wonderful experience dealing with Evelyn. She went above and beyond with leaving us with local tips about the weather and places to see. We highly recommend this place.

Fabulous Views!

  • 5 of 5

This great little condo is very well equipped. Everything you need for cooking:pots, pans, bowls & pantry items like oil & a few seasonings. The King size bed is pretty comfortable. Plenty of towels. But the view is what makes this place incredible. You can open the louvers and hear the waves crashing all night, it’s a great way to fall asleep.

Evelyn was extremely helpful every step of the way, both before & after our arrival.

Brilliant spot

  • 5 of 5

Easily one of the best units in princeville, we highly recommend. Evelyn is fantastic to deal with. The unit (which felt like home) is spotlessly clean. Dont worry about it being a ground floor unit...its actually easier than trying to drag your bags upstairs, it always felt private and the way it sits on the edge of the cliff is amazing. Sitting on the lounge and seeing ocean all around, made us feel as though we were on a cruise ship (without the sea sickness)

If we travel to kauai again, we wouldn't bother looking anywhere else. This really is a slice of paradise

Fantastic place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

How anyone would rate this condo less than 5 stars is a mystery to me. It's clean, well equipped with everything needed for your stay, and is run by a private owner who cares rather than a management company. With the million dollar views this will be the place we will return to when visiting Kauai. Thanks for everything Evelyn!

Amazing views await you at this slice of paradise!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I and another couple stayed in Evelyn's condo for 6 nights. The pictures only hint at the magnificent views! We had everything we could possibly need and communication before and during our stay was prompt and helpful. Evelyn is an amazing host!

If you are travelling as two adult couples, I would recommend figuring out the room assignments before arrival, though. The master bedroom is about 3 times larger than the second bedroom (and we lost the coin toss), so there could be some disappointment. Both rooms have incredible views of the ocean.

As well, it seems that the rugged path to the ocean below is quite popular (and the path starts pretty much outside the front door). We saw many people parking in the Alii Kai lot just to go to this "beach". Because there is no a/c, the windows were always open (to get the amazing cross-breeze), but this meant there was a lot of conversation happening right outside the unit as people descended/ascended or conversed at the top of the hill. This only happened during the day, but if you're expecting a really quiet place for an afternoon rest, there may be people interrupting this. It was perfectly quiet in the evenings and overnight!

We were able to visit all coasts from this location (the longest drive being to Waimea Canyon at about 2 hours) and really enjoyed the North Shore. There were great places to eat in Hanalei, and we really enjoyed the proximity to the Napali Coast (as day hikers) and to the amazing north shore beaches (highly recommend snorkelling at Tunnels and Anini for the shady beach and to swim with sea turtles). If we were to visit Kauai again, we would definitely stay in the north again, and would not hesitate to return to Evelyn's "Slice of Paradise"!

Why The Owner chose Princeville

We are very private, quiet, peaceful with an unbelievable view and absolutely nothing to mar that view. YOU ARE THERE!!! Bottom unit with no stairs to climb nor do you look at the neighbor's door as you leave your wonderful 'home'. You see the fabulous Pacific Ocean as you leave the condo and as you walk thru our Slice of Paradise. You see and hear the ocean from every room. We are modern and comfortable.

What makes this condo unique

It is all there before you so you never want to leave!!!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

I travel to Kauai nearly every year. I've stayed on the north, east, south and west sides and have found no place that even compares to this unit at Alii Kai. In my opinion, it is the best value, best view and best location on the island. It is always super clean and welcomng when I first walk in the door. Often there is a freshly baked loaf of fruit bread or a basket of home grown avocados waiting when I get there. There are ocean views from every window and it is so quiet you will think no one else is within miles. It is high on the edge of a bluff so you can sit on the lanai and watch an albatross soar by or watch whales in season. You can see for miles. There are many nice eating places in an easy distance or you can cook in with the fully equipped kitchen. The most beautiful beaches on the island are minutes away. The closets are stocked with things you might want to use such as beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkeling equipment etc. There is a nice little library of books to choose from. No amenity has been forgotten. I would recommend this unit to anyone, young or old. The beds are very comfortable. It you give it a try, you'll go back time and time again.
