Luxury Waterfront and Privacy!!! 750 Feet on River, Porches, Hot Tub, Pool Table
This unique house offers you more riverfront than almost any cabin in Coosawattee, sitting in the middle of 3 adjoining riverfront lots giving you over 750+ feet of water frontage on the beautiful North Georgia Trout river, Mountaintown Creek.
Feel free to explore the property to the right of the lodge with its many trails and secret fishing spots. The house is private and secluded with all the space you need to get away from it all. Across the river from this house is a nature preserve, so you have lots of privacy.
Home is 3600+ square feet in the main living area with 2000+ square feet of covered porches. If you bring the kids along, they are going to love the huge yard and Gorilla play set.
There are 3 king size bedrooms and a media room with 2 “full” sized futons. We also have a bunk room (queen/twin and a double/twin) with a shuffle board table that will accommodate 4-6 people.
Kitchen has a large granite counter tops and island which are great for parties and serving large parties. The stainless-steel appliances are new and the kitchen is fully stocked.
Two sets of high efficiency new washer dryers on the main and lower level of the house.
The bathrooms are amazing with granite counter tops and custom natural stone showers and Jacuzzi garden tubs.
Entertainment for the home includes a new seven-person sunken hot tub complete with LED lighting on the porch, Foosball, and shuffle board table.
We turned the loft into a man cave with a professional billiards table and large comfy couches.
In the evenings, you can enjoy yourself besides one of the many fireplaces or huddle around the large fire pit area next to the river’s edge.
There are five large flat screen TV's spread across the bedrooms, futon room and the living room over the fireplace. We have SMART TV's, DISH Cable and Wi-Fi.
The Coosawattee River Resort is located just a few miles off Hwy 515 outside of Ellijay and East Ellijay, Georgia in the beautiful north Georgia mountains. The Resort provides the perfect weekend vacation getaway and is just a short drive from Atlanta,
Chattanooga, and Murphy, NC.
The Coosawattee River Resort is a 5,500+ acre nature preserve that leisurely meanders along two beautiful rivers - Coosawattee River and Mountaintown Creek. The Coosawattee River Resort is a great community offering an extra layer of safety and convenience from the 24/7 gated security.
There are plenty of things to do in the area, including all kinds of lake and river water sports, hiking, mountain biking, antique and crafts shopping, scenic drives, and golf. Our Georgia mountain cabin offers privacy, peace and quiet, and cool mountain breezes, and is just minutes from the shops and restaurants in Ellijay and the Blue Ridge area.
Come spend a weekend or longer in our log cabin and feel the cares of everyday life slip away. We hope you will make “Trickey Trout River Lodge” your second home in the mountains and will return again and again. If you need room for larger groups add our other cabin "Trout Trap" VRBO - #109998 which is not far down the road and on the same river. PS- You can tube from one cabin to the next!

About Amy Padgett
We are a family of 6 from Milton, GA with 3 boys and a girl. We have another house in Coosawattee, the Trout Trap Lodge - VRBO #109998. We have just purchased two additional river houses that are side by side giving you your own private compound. When we are finished remodeling, we will introduce "The Twins"
Amy Padgett purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Amy Padgett chose Ellijay
The word “Ellijay” is an Anglicized form of a Cherokee word, perhaps meaning "place of green things" or "many waters." This would make a lot of sense considering this is the place where the Ellijay and Cartecay Rivers meet forming the Coosawattee River. The Coosawattee and Mountaintown come together and flow into Carter’s Lake: A gorgeous recreational lake developed by the Corps of Engineers. This region abounds with wildlife, including deer, wild turkeys, bears, eagles, and hawks. The Rivers are a favorite for trout fishermen or feel free to our stocked fishing pond within the resort.
What makes this Cabin unique
We love coming to Ellijay and the fact that it is so close is a big bonus for us. Our kids love playing in the water, riding dirt bikes and fishing. It is so nice to be in the mountains and on the river in a place that feels so remote but you are less than 15 minutes from shops, restaurants, and grocery stores.

The Padgett’s cabin was truly as pictured. 12 adults & 2 dogs stayed for the weekend with plenty of room. Everyone was gushing over the beautiful views, tons of space and on-point amenities. The kitchen had all of the needed appliances & cookware, even with a few extras like salt & pepper and cooking oil. We used the outside bonfire pit on the second night and it was perfection. In addition, the homeowners were super easy to work with & very accommodating. We would gladly stay again, thank you Padgetts!
We had previously rented one of the Padgett's other cabins (Trout Trap Lodge) on two separate occasions and had a fabulous time. When they told us about this additional cabin we decided to try it for our yearly Men's Group Retreat for Church. The pics are for real while the ambiance and the drive in to the cabin are breathtaking. The constant sound of Mountaintown Creek is soothing, hence the reason I slept on the deck on the hammock. The kitchen was huge and the fact that you have the choice of an indoor fireplace, a deck fireplace and a fire pit down by the creek is awesome. This is a perfect location for kayaking. We put in up the creek where Highway 52 crosses and kayaked down to the cabin itself. A great run with class 1-2 rapids. The only thing I would change is the fact that there was only 1 DVD player in the cabin and we had to relocate it to the living room TV in order to have the room for everyone to watch the movie. Nothing else needs to be changed, at all!
Prepare for a great stay
The house really does look as pictured. We were 8 people and no one felt claustrophobic.
The kitchen is super spacious and there are lots of prep areas. There are two sets of laundry machines, so its convenient for even larger groups with longer stays. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are better than a hotel's.
For those who love the sound of water, the river's constant flow is soothing. When we were there, only one night was warm enough to open the window, and the sound was wonderful. The firepit is awesome. But be prepared to walk up and down a steep set of stairs.
The location is close enough from town and area stores, but far enough to be a great R&R. It sits on a dead end, too.
Something for everyone
This house has something for everyone! Pictures don’t do it justice. View of river is amazing and loved the fireplace on the patio!! Hot tub was a big hit especially at night in 40 degree temps. We had three couples that each had king size beds and very private rooms. Kids ranged from four to fourteen and loved their downstairs set up. Pool table in loft was so much fun and made me want one. House is spacious, open and was very clean. Amy was always quick to answer any questions and so helpful. Looking forward to our next stay in the Fir River House.
We had an absolutely wonderful time at this cabin! There was plenty of space, the yard/river/etc. couldn't have been more perfect for keeping our kids entertained, and the house was very well kept up with. The owners were extremely responsive and helpful. The only issue we ran into was the internet speed and cell service (AT&T). The internet connection was reliable, but we had people trying to work and it was simply not enough to handle their needs (it worked better during the day that at night). T-Mobile and Sprint seemed to work, but AT&T had little to no cell service. I'm not docking any stars considering it's a vacation home not an office- just want folks to be aware it could be a challenge if you're trying to meet deadlines. It's was also a huge perk that our four legged babies could come along and enjoy the family vacation. Though it's a pet friendly cabin, they do a fantastic job cleaning (unlike many other pet friendly places which are much more run down). Thanks for a great spring break. We hope to return!
Beautiful cabin and great views.
Loved this cabin, we will be back again.
