Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, Sleeps 2

The cottage was built only a few years ago. It is a true studio with only the bathroom separated from the living space. There is plenty of living space with a full size leather couch and a reclining chair. A separate TV area has a loveseat. The dining area is setup for four people. The sleeping area has a new queen size bed and is separated by a desk and bookshelf arrangement. The full bathroom includes a washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, lots of handmade cabinetry, and a back splash of mahogany and Mexican tile. The ceilings are cathedral and covered with Maine cedar.

Located in a wonderful neighborhood the cottage is a 7 minute walk to town and the harbor. The library park overlooks the harbor where sailing, kayaking, and lobstering trips are available. The area is lined with benches for just relaxing and taking in the view as windjammers, yachts, and the local lobstermen come and go. You may want to hike or drive up Mt. Battie for an incredible view of the bay and the islands, after all this is where the mountains meet the sea. Shopping and dining are diverse and extraordinary with several award winning restaurants nearby, or you may want to grab a lobster roll to go and head for a scenic rocky spot by the ocean. Just endless delightful possibilities. If you are bringing a canine friend Camden has a wonderful 2 acre dog park and several places where a dog can swim in the lake or the ocean. You are welcome to share the abundance of our organic vegetable garden and our overabundance of raspberries.

We respond to your inquiry within a few hours, usually just a few minutes.

Well appointed cottage located on quiet street near downtown Camden.

Might suggest adding a dishwasher and a better sports package for sport fans or ability to stream sports with a Roku or similar device on TV. Other than those minor things the cottage is well maintained and has everything you need for a short or longer term stay.

comfortable, convenient, and oh-so-quiet

The cottage was well-organized, conveniently laid-out and located on a lovely quiet street. Owners were helpful and responsive. The location gave easy walking access to restaurants, shopping and relaxing harbor views. A rental we would definitely return to.

Loved this cottage! Cozy, bright, well-appointed, on lovely street, in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This casita is on a lovely, quiet street, with a backdrop of Mt Battie. It's a short walk or drive into the center of beautiful Camden and the harbor, and a short walk to the trailhead of Mt Battie. There is a great grocery store a few minutes away, as well as a sweet little lake beach, Shirtail Point, just a bit further.

This is a true, one-room studio with a bathroom off the bedroom/sleeping area. It is very stylish and well-designed with sleeping, living room, TV areas, and a kitchen that feels cozy but not small. There is a high, cathedral-style, wood ceiling, and windows on all four sides, so it feels open and roomy. Furnishings are comfortable and in excellent shape. There is a front porch with a grill, and a nice dining table and chairs by the kitchen.

There are two good-sized closets for your clothes and belongings, plus a desk and a bookcase/shelves. There is a good-sized bathroom with a full-sized washer and dryer.

The kitchen has everything you could need, though, if it's important to you, there is no dishwasher. Linens were good quality, and there were plenty of incidentals in case you forgot something.

Janet and Stephen live on the property, behind the cottage. They were welcoming, helpful, and generous. They responded immediately when we had a small issue our first night there. The property is lovely, including Janet's large organic garden, where we were welcome to pick strawberries.

You park around the back of the house, so if you're carrying in luggage or groceries, you might want to park in front to unload if that's an issue.

The street is quiet and neighbors are friendly.

We brought our dog and he loved it there, too :-).

There is lots to do mid-coast, and there's much just a short drive away.

This is a great place for 1 or 2 people. We spent 2 weeks there and never felt crowded. We will definitely stay here again.

Felt like home

  • 4 of 5

Stephen and Janet's sweet Bungalow could not be more charming, not could they have been more hospitable. They personally welcomed us and provided us with area information, but were never intrusive. The bungalow isn't cramped, is well thought out and has everything a traveler would need. It's a quick walk into town. Honestly, once we figured out where everything was in relation to it, we felt as if we were living amongst the locals. We were completely at ease and relaxed, just as folks should be when on vacation. Thank you, Janet and Stephen. Our Camden vacation was picture perfect, and much of that had to do with your welcoming bungalow and how you set things up for us.

Heaven in Maine

  • 5 of 5

This is the most wonderful place we have ever stayed in. My husband and I were there for two weeks and it was so cozy and quiet that we were pretty sure we were in heaven! It was so clean and set up so comfortably. The kitchen had everything we needed and so much more. We could walk just about anywhere we wanted to go - shops, drug stores, restaurants. The owners were wonderful to talk with and advise us of things to do and places to go. We could not have chosen a better place to stay. It was the perfect place to stay for our 45th wedding anniversary! I would most definitely like to go back again!

Camden is the heart of midcoast maine, besides all the great attractions available in the immediate area it is easy to enjoy other areas not very far away such as acadia national park or a ferry out to vinalhaven for the day.
