Lovely house with a beautiful backyard in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

Chita and Erin were accommodating to our early arrival and late departure. The house was perfect for a girl's weekend. Chita takes great care of the home and the backyard is an oasis! Walking distance to Frenchman and the French Quarter. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Nola!

Comforts Of Home

  • 5 of 5

This inviting home was everything we hoped for, from the great location (five short blocks to Frenchmen Street then another three to the French Quarter), excellent air conditioning, well stocked supplies and relaxing backyard environment. The place was very clean and inviting. Chita greeted us upon arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. The outside security cameras (made it easy to spot the arrival of our taxi) and interior motion lights in the hallway were a nice touch. The only draw back was the fold out bed was a bit uncomfortable for my adult son. The middle brace in the frame created a hump that was unavoidable. Would probably not be a problem for a child though. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our choice to stay at the Vivien House and would make the choice again.

Comfortable, relaxing-great rental house

  • 5 of 5

We just finished with 4 nights at The Vivien House. The house interior is well decorated and has everything you need. Comfortable beds with great kitchen and fantastic yard. 15 foot ceilings-well maintained. We enjoyed being able to make breakfast (saved lunch and dinner for town!) and use the yard for happy hour and coffee. The back yard is as nice as the picture-nice lights at night.

Location is on the edge of a little bit of reality, but we thought the location was great for the things we wanted to do. Basic food and alcohol one block away at Walgreen. We felt safe, area was clean, parking was not a problem. Gene's Po Boy nearby had the best Catfish Po Boy and huge! It is a easy walk to the French Quarter, but may be a bit of distance for some. Frenchman Street is two blocks away which has great bars and live music in most bars. They also have a Artist Market which was open at night-cool stuff. Some good food options too. French Quarter Market is close by for lots of shopping.

Overall we thought The Vivien House was a great value for what you got. We prefer to rent a home versus the hotel-they both have their benefits and we have done both in town-we thought this was much better. I would highly recommend this property.

Perfect location and fantastic home!

  • 5 of 5

Staying at the Vivian House was the absolute best experience we've had in New Orleans so far. We spent most of our time enjoying the backyard. The Vivian House will be our go-to from now on. Thank you Chita for being such a gracious host and allowing our pup Lido to join us.

Great location and wonderful house and yard. True NOLA experience

  • 5 of 5

We could not have been happier with our stay at the Vivien house. The house is BEAUTIFUL, the pictures do not do it justice. Plenty of historical charm and details. We had 6 adults and the house comfortably fit us. The living room has a door and comfortable queen sofa bed, so really could act as a private third bedroom. One of the rooms you have to pass to for access to the kitchen, which was absolutely fine with us. Erin and Chita were gracious hosts that wen above and beyond. Chita welcomed us and gave us a 15-20 minute tour of the area with all of the spots to see and also an interesting history on the house. The location was excellent, a quick and scenic 10-15 minute walk to all the spots. Thank you Chita and Erin for opening your home to us! Can't wait to return!
