Kathleen, I'm so glad you had a wonderful stay. This is what we aim for. Our welcome letters are suppose to go out automatically through the VRBO site so you can access all the information when you like. Unfortunately, the system has been a bit unreliable. We are keeping eye on it so future guests don't have a similar experience. We'd love to host you again during next stay in San Diego. Take care.

Raul, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay at our property. As hosts, we always encourage guests to inform us about their estimated arrival time, especially if it is outside our regular check-in hours. This allows us to make necessary arrangements and ensure a seamless check-in process. Unfortunately, in your case, we did not receive any communication from you regarding your late arrival, which made it difficult for us to anticipate your schedule. Upon your arrival close to midnight, we were not aware that you were outside the property, unclear about the lockbox. Had we known about your late arrival, we would have certainly made sure to remain awake and available to assist you in any way possible. However, since we received no communication from you, we assumed that you had successfully accessed the property and had gone to sleep. While we provide detailed check-in information, we apologize if it was unclear to you. We strive to improve our instructions and make them as user-friendly as possible to avoid any confusion in the future. We want to emphasize that we have been hosting guests for over 10 years, and we take great pride in providing a positive and comfortable experience for all our visitors. We have never had to cancel a reservation or had a guest unable to access our cottage due to difficulties with the lockbox. Nonetheless, we understand that your experience was an exception, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Bill never reached out to us about any of his concerns about the cottage. We live 5 min away in Pacific Beach and could have addressed several of his concerns immediately. Note that this stay was during the height of the pandemic, and we were doing our best to support and supply our cottage for our guests. Since Bill’s stay, we made several upgrades to the cottage’s interior and exterior. Below we list some of these to address the issues Bill mentions: 1. The patio has a new larger umbrella that provides a good shade during the day. 2. We have a new AC/heating system installed that sufficiently cools/heats the cottage year-round. 3. During Bill’s stay the Wi-Fi/TV issues we had were due to faulty AT&T equipment that was intermittently failing. This took a while for AT&T to fix since this was during the pandemic and their technicians were overloaded with repairs for people working from home. After this repair, the internet access and TV are working very well. 4. The TV has Roku, including a cable app that offers free access to +45 channels (including ESPN Sports). You can also run your favorite streaming app via Roku. During Bill’s stay the TV didn’t work well due to the AT&T issues mentioned above. 5. We keep the cottage well stocked with supplies, but sometimes our cleaning crew may miss things. That’s why we ask our guest to reach out to us immediately if something is not to their satisfaction so we can address it directly. 6. Apart from the list above, the cottage is repainted outside and inside, has new floors, a new bed with a memory foam mattress, and a new fence to the outside patio.
