About Paul

Paul is a native Texan, born in Arlington. Barbara is from Mpls., MN. Paul and Barbara have permanent residence in North Dallas. Paul is a graduate of Steven F. Austin University in Photo Journalism. Barbara is a graduate of the University of Texas Arlington in Interior Design.

Why Paul chose Texas

We are fans of Mid-Century Modern styles and fell in love with this home as soon as we toured it. Purchased from a former boot maker, we enjoyed the challenges of transforming this house from a craftsman's workshop to the cozy retreat it is today. We believe you'll enjoy the peaceful settings as much as we do!

What makes this house unique

Property is at the end of a cul-de-sac, private, quiet, and peaceful. The Canyons at Whitney is a small residential community that has a full time security guard that patrols daily and is a member of the volunteer fire department. Abundant hiking trails and are great for mountain biking. Great bird watching, plentiful wild life, and serene location. Lots of parking and very little traffic.

Cousins Weekend Get-Away

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed your home. We had 8 ladies enjoying a little get-a-way. It was very accommodating. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, bowls and plates. We did plenty of cooking. We spent a whole lot of time on the balcony overlooking the cliffs. The weather was perfect for being outside. We drove to Waco one day and Clifton another day. Clifton is a wonderful town. The Red Caboose Winery is a great place to visit too.

Beautiful spot for a getaway

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriends and I visited to celebrate a 30th birthday and couldn't have picked a better spot. Plenty of space to spread out and a stunning great room to gather in and enjoy the views. We enjoyed hiking and exploring the area around us and swimming at the cove down the street. Paul was very responsive when we had a question mid-stay. Would love to come back one day! Thanks for a much-needed getaway.

We had an amazing time staying at the Johnson's home on Lake Whitney. Not only was the house absolutely beautiful, and perfect for our group, but Paul and Barbara were so accommodating while we were there. My husband, friends, and I will definitely be booking this wonderful house again! 100%!

Great Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Whitney Cliffs. The home is as described, and every attention is paid to cleanliness and comfort. The bathrooms are updated and super clean which is nice. There were plenty of towels and linens and pillows for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked.

The bird feeders attracted quite a variety of birds which were wonderful to watch from the deck. The deck has great views and chairs for everyone.

We picked the Whitney Cliffs house for our vacation because Paul was so easy to work with. We knew that even if we weren't able to get out much because of weather or whatever we could just stay in and be very happy relaxing in the house and the game room. It did not disappoint. We cooked most of our meals at the house and the game room downstairs was perfect for our teenage and younger boys. They spent hours down there! The new air conditioning worked well in the basement and it was very pleasant.

We really enjoyed our family time at Whitney Cliffs.
