About Nan Horstman

We are retired educators who have lived on beautiful Long Lake, just south of Traverse City, for 14 years, having been seasonal residents for 20 years before that. We love this area and are happy to call it home.

Nan Horstman purchased this condo in 2014

Why Nan Horstman chose Northwest

While we love living on the lake, we also love being in vital Traverse City where we're active in our church and community. So, a few years ago we decided to try living both places -- the lake in summer and in town during the winter months. We're delighted that we were able to find this condo and are pleased to be able to share it with you. Its near-to-everything location, park view, charming decor and one-level living make it an ideal place.

Wonderful place to rent!

  • 5 of 5

Nan and her husband are amazing people with a wonderful place for a weekend or week in Traverse City. My family was actually in a car accident during our stay, and they went out of their way to help us out. I truly can't say enough about their kindness during a stressful time for my family.

Independent of the accident, we loved their place. It was right across the street from a park that my daughters loved playing on. The place itself was peaceful and relaxing. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything you needed and the open floor plan in the living area was ideal for us. It is the perfect place for a young family or an older couple (it's on the first floor). Downtown Traverse City and the beach are both short walks away. Also, it puts you in a great central location for exploring Sleeping Bear Dunes, Old Mission Peninsula, etc.

We loved the place and would absolutely stay there again.

Very nice and close enough to walk to downtown.

  • 4 of 5

We were here in early May, before the tourists move in. Overall a nice spacious and clean condo in a great area. We could hear people above us walking around and there were some louder noises in the late evening after 10:00 (children jumping up and down??) and cable choices were limited, but we enjoyed our stay.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay, but sorry about the noise upstairs. If you'd have let us know we might have been able to resolve the issue.

Your Home Away From Home!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family loved this condo!! It was clean, great location, easy parking and plenty of room to relax. Having access to our Netflix account on their smart TV was an added feature. The kitchen is clean and spacious for making meals at home. There were grocery stores close by if you enjoy eating in. We loved enjoying our morning coffee in the rocking chairs over looking a park across the street. Our kids are adults now but 20 years ago having a park across the street would have been an added bonus. If cooking at home isnt for you there are countless restaurants that are only blocks away in walking distance for enjoyment. While our family was in Traverse we walked everywhere because of the close proximity to the downtown area. We enjoyed the TART trail that ran along the water. Our girls enjoyed jogging on the Tart trail but there are bikes close by that you can rent for the Tart trail. The views along the trails are beautiful. We also enjoyed church on Sunday morning outside along the lakefront which was in a short walking distance of the condo. There is plenty to do just steps outside the condo but take a short drive to neighboring cities to enjoy wine tasting or climb the dunes at Sleeping Bear Dunes. There is not a lack of things to do in this area. We felt like we needed another week. It was so nice coming in to a cozy comfortable bed after a long day of fun. Nan and Allen were extremely helpful and pleasant to work with while planning our visit. Look no further, your search is over because this is the condo you want to stay during your trip to Traverse City. We look forward to going back.

Great Traverse City Rental!

  • 5 of 5

We throughly enjoyed our trip to Traverse City. The location of the condo was perfect, especially with 2 kids. We spent lots of time at the park, on the beach, walking into town. The owners were wonderful to work with and very responsive. Can't wait to visit again next year!
