Original 1920's Cottage remodled in 2014- Original Oak Hardwood Floors, New Kitchen with Stainless Steel appliances. Free standing cottage- Not a stacked Duplex/Triplex! This is our Family Vacation Home and is only offered to qualified Vacationers! Not a party pad! It is completely remodeled, clean, and well maintained and loved by our family. No smoking inside house! If the smell of smoke is in the house when you leave your deposit will be forfeited. Absolutely no smoking allowed in house.

I love staying at this beach house

i have rented this house a hand full of times, its always very clean and comfortable. half a short block to the boardwalk and beach. blocks from the bars and pier. half a block to grocery store. cant beat the location.

Perfect size for our little family

True to form; this is an authentic beach cottage. The living space is organized well and comfortable for all four of us to watch tv and Bbq. We left something behind and the owners were understanding and took the time to mail the item back to us. The cottage was clean and full time neighbors very friendly.

Great place to stay

We stayed in this home for 2 glorious weeks. Furnished very nice and cozy. We enjoyed the front porch every day. Amazing location, so convenient to everything - we parked our car and rode bikes the whole trip. We are ready to book again next summer. The owners checked in with us to see if we needed anything - they are super nice. Definitely two thumbs up!!

Best beach house!

This beach house is perfect in every way! A short walk down the street and you are on the beach. Restaurants, nightlife and shopping is all a stone throw away. Kristin is beyond helpful with anything you need - and responds in record time. We met her 2 tenants behind the cottage and they were very friendly. Had we not been in the back we would never had known they were there - quiet as can be! We brought our 2 Brittany Spaniels and they had the time of their lives. Everything you need is right there - Kristin has stocked the house well. The only downside of this cottage is you have to leave when your time is up - So happy we found this little gem!

Good first time experience

The location was great! The property was just removed enough from the hub-bub to allow us to avoid the crowds, yet close enough to walk or ride bikes on the boardwalk to access most of what we needed. That said, we ran into problems right off the bat. The house was stuffy and hot our first nights there. The ceiling fan in the king bedroom wouldn't work, nor did the standing fan work, after trying various outlets in the house. Apparently, there was a code in back of the remote for the ceiling fan which the owner had neglected to explain that needed to be adjusted. They said they would have a new floor fan to us by the next day. But, it did not come until Monday, and my husband assembled it for them. The owner apologized and said that it being Father's Day on Sunday, it had slipped her mind to bring it over then. Also, we wanted to BBQ for Father's Day and found the propane tank to be empty. My husband went to the store and bought the last refilled tank, only to find it was defective and wouldn't work. Thankfully, we were able to ask around and borrowed a tank for the evening. The owner did replace the tank the following morning along with the floor fan. We would recommend that the owner make sure the propane is full and ready to use, instead of leaving it up to the renter to discover an empty tank, requiring them to purchase more so that the next renter can use it as well.

In addition, late Saturday afternoon we went to take our car out of the small garage to take our grand-girls to a church dance and found the garage to be completely blocked perpendicularly by another car belonging to the full-time tenant living in the back part of the property. We reported this and the owner called the other party, but could not reach him til later that evening. We ended up having to transport the girls to and from the activity in our two-seater Tacoma which we had parked on the street. We lost that parking space for the night.

This was a also a learning process for us. We found we didn't like having to use the laundry mat, and prefer having an in-unit washer-dryer, even though the laundry mat was only just across Balboa Blvd. We also found that we prefer a place which has more than 1 designated parking spot. And, while the king bed was very comfortable, there was about 10 inches between the wall and the bed.

Nevertheless, we enjoyed our week with the girls, and the owner was very pleasant and generally quick to respond.
