Our family lives in Albany, NY, and we visit the Cape as often as possible. It is a wonderful getaway from everyday life. The air is clean and fresh and it clears your mind.

Why Wendy Gruenberg chose West Chatham
Chatham is a special town and Hardings Beach is the quintessential Cape beach, often used for photo shoots on the Cape. The house is located in a private neighborhood abutting Hardings Beach. Each house has deeded rights to a path to the beach. At the end of a busy day having fun, the house is the perfect respite. Large living room to gather everyone. Huge dining table seating 12 so you can all enjoy meals together. Large custom kitchen to cook together and generous private back yard to relax in after dinner. Be sure to use the outdoor shower - everyone's favorite.
What makes this House unique
It is particularly nice to walk in our neighborhood and along the beach. The architecture is great to look at and the ocean never stops fascinating. There is a delightful walk of about a mile from Hardings Beach to the lighthouse.

Our amazing holiday at Chatham
The house was exactly what we needed for our 50th wedding anniversary celebration with our family. Eleven of us had plenty of space and comfort. The five grandchildren were able to escape to their "clubhouse" in the garden and play their ball games too.
The location was ideal for Hardings beach where the see was calm and also as a centre to explore the Cape. We did surfing at Nauset, Paddleboarding at Ridgevalebeach, amazing whalewatching from Provincetown and striper bass fishing from Sensuit Port. The one hour flight from Chatham Airport was just magical. We also had excitement with a shark predation on a seal at Nauset beach, but no danger to the swimmers! The sharks know what good food is!! Absolutely excellent and great help fron the owners.
Wonderful Chatham home
The location was great....possible to walk to a nice beach and only 2 mile drive to Children's Beach on Oyster Pond in town. House was very large and spacious for our family reunion group....everyone could spread out and have privacy, and the gathering area of kitchen/dining room/living room/deck accommodated everyone when we wanted to be together. The kitchen was totally supplied with everything we needed to do lots of cooking and was large enough to hold a few cooks at the same time. The living room was very spacious and the seating was comfortable. The adjoining deck was wonderful, large and we used it morning, noon and night! The lower level was like a separate unit...3 bedrooms and two full baths plus a sitting area....perfect for separate private time. Walk out basement had access to the outdoor shower....always a nice addition. The shed held 3 bikes that worked fine, plus beach chairs, umbrellas and some sand toys for the children. We did not have access to the back yard as it had recently been seeded and the lawn was too new to use. However, once the lawn is established, the backyard is a good size for badminton, catch, Frisbee, etc. The bathrooms were all lovely and new, the beds were comfortable, the large entry had enough room for everyone's shoes. The neighborhood is very nice which made evening walks pleasant. From the top floor bedroom windows, the Sound is just barely visible....so cooling breezes at night time made the house so pleasant we didn't need to use the AC. Washer and drying in the Lower Level worked fine. All in all, the house was everything we wanted!
Great home close to the water
My family had plenty of room with so many Bedrooms and Bathrooms available. We had 8 adults and 1 child and loved the house. Not only close to the beach but an easy bike ride or drive to downtown Chatham. Quiet neighborhood great for our 5 yr old granddaughter
Terrific family house close to Hardings Beach
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Chatham house. It's located in a quiet neighborhood where our 10 year old nephews could safely ride their bikes, and with a bit of a walk you can easily get to Hardings Beach. The back yard and deck are totally private, surrounded by trees and bushes to provide a great gathering spot to enjoy coffee in the morning or watch the sunset colors coming on in the evening. It has a very well equipped kitchen and the open concept main floor allows a full group of 10 people to comfortably hang out together. Bedrooms are removed enough to allow the younger ones to go to bed earlier without the older crew disturbing them. Hardings Beach has lots of great sandy space and has gentle waves, so nice for young kids. The nearby Ridgevale Beach is close enough for a bike ride and has tidal pools fun to explore at low tide. Nauset Beach in Orleans is where we went for bigger waves for the 10 year olds to surf with their boogie boards. The rail trail bike path is close enough to allow a great ride on a protected paved roadway, and Schoolhouse Ice Cream is on the path to Harwich, so a great destination or reviver along the way.
Beautiful house, beautiful setting, great location!
Pictures do not do justice for this beautiful home. Bedrooms are beautifully decorated, the house is comfortable and easily accommodates a large family. Walking distance to the beach with easy access to downtown. We enjoyed large family dinners in the dinning room and sunsets on the back deck. The owner was wonderfully attentive and responsive.
New cape experience
We had a family reunion with 6adults 4 young kids, what a great experience! The house has a great open floor plan and spacious kitchen, large family style table... We were able to walk to the beach easily (or ride the bikes with a trailer full of beach toys), use the private backyard, and especially enjoyed the outdoor shower! The beach has two areas and the water was very warm.
Cape Cod has a unique history of seafaring and fishing that infects the local culture and creates a delightful regional atmosphere.
