Located in Princeville, this 2nd floor Kamahana condo has breathtaking views of the ocean, the Makai golf course, the Kilauea lighthouse, and the mountains. Enjoy the sunrise over the ocean with a cup of coffee on the lanai before heading out for a day of fun and relaxation. You can take a short hike down to Sea Lodge or Anini beaches. Or, take a short drive to the spectacular beaches of Hanalei, Lumahai, Tunnels, or Kee to snorkel, surf, boogie board or just lay in the sun. Or, check in at the Prince or Makai golf clubs for a spectacular round of golf. Or, …. There are so many things you can do on Kauai, including just curling up somewhere with a good book. At the end of the day, enjoy a drink on the lanai before cooking dinner or heading out to one of the many great restaurants nearby.
The entrance to the condo is on the first floor, but immediately upon entering, there is a stairway to the second floor. The master bedroom has a queen bed and large private bathroom. The second bedroom has two twin beds, and there is a second bathroom in the hallway with a tub and shower. The fully equipped kitchen is open to the dining and living room areas and the lanai.
There is a washer and dryer in the hallway closet along with snorkeling gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, beach mats, beach toys and more to use while you are on the island. The condo includes a high-speed wireless network, standard cable TV, and a blu-ray DVD player.
Our family has been visiting Kauai for over 40 years. In 2013, we finally decided to switch from timeshares and rentals to purchase our own condo. Our condo on Kauai is the place we come to unwind from our sometimes busy lives on the mainland. We find slowing down to Hawaiian time while we enjoy all the activities the island has to offer to be refreshing and rejuvenating. We hope you will enjoy your stay, taking advantage of your favorite activities on the island whether it is surfing, golfing, hiking, snorkeling or just relaxing and enjoying the view. We hope that when you have to return home, you will feel revitalized and you'll want to come back. Mahalo!

Although we didn't own property on Kauai until 2013, it has been our second home for a long time. On the island, our routine has usually been to get up in the morning and go somewhere: to the beach, to the golf course, to the spa, on a walk or a hike, to a botanical garden, or exploring somewhere else. When we have had enough sun or enough activity for the day, we return to the condo, sit on our lanai and enjoy the view often with a book and/or a tropical drink. Our Kamahana condo is perfect for this lifestyle. It is close to the most beautiful places on Kauai; it's on the Makai golf course; it's quiet; you can hike down Sea Lodge or Anini beaches; and it has a spectacular view from sunrise over the ocean to the warm glow of the setting sun on the Kilauea lighthouse.
We rented this property for a week last summer and had an amazing time! We are already planning to go back this summer. The location was great for visiting different beaches and close to several hiking paths. It is also conveniently located near a grocery store and several restaurants. It even has built in entertainment when you want some downtime. We spent several mornings eating breakfast on the deck and watching the golfers on the golf course, as well as the nene geese.
One of the best things about the condo was all the equipment that was left in the closet for renters to use. We were able to use snorkeling gear, fins, boogie boards, and towels. There were several guide books at the condo as well, with great information that led us to some new hikes we hadn't explored before.
The owner must have made updates since the last review, because the beds were incredibly comfortable. The condo was warm when we arrived, but by opening the screen door and windows it cooled off very quickly.
We were happy with the location of the condo....it was minutes from Princeville and Hanalei. The view across the golf course was nice and we were able to see nene geese (and the golfers photographing them!) most mornings. The condo was furnished well and had plenty of room for the two of us for our 5 night stay.
This was our third condo stay during our vacation and it was noticeably different than the other two. First off, there is no air conditioning. I realize that this is quite common (and was the case in another condo we had stayed at), but the entire place was incredibly hot when we arrived from being shut up all day. The winds were not strong enough to cool it off even when the windows and patio door were all open, so our first night was sweltering. We ended up finding some old fans in the closets and used those extensively along with the ceiling fans. We kept the windows open almost constantly during the stay and it took a couple of days to cool off inside. It was in the mid 70s and very pleasant outside and a good 10 degrees warmer inside most afternoons when we returned.
The kitchen, while well stocked with dishes and cooking equipment, had absolutely no plastic wrap, foil, sugar, spices, salt, pepper, etc. This was a shock and very disappointing; the last 2 condos we had stayed at had all of these basic supplies. We ended up buying plastic wrap, salt and pepper, sugar and small tupperware containers for our stay and leaving them for the next guests (you're welcome!) I feel that this should be provided as part of the basic stay; none of these are perishable items and once you realize that they are missing, you have likely already been to the grocery store.
The biggest issue we had, though, was with the quality of the beds. They felt like sleeping on a college dorm mattress....thin, hard and extremely uncomfortable. My husband and I ended up sleeping in the second bedroom in the two twin beds as they were *slightly* more comfortable and the room was a little bit cooler than the master bedroom. We woke up with backaches most mornings.
This could be a great place if the owner makes some changes, but as it is, I wouldn't return.
