The main tourism season stretches from mid-April to the end of October with July and August being peak months. A great time to visit Tuscany is in the quieter part of the season: May or June for beautiful weather and less crowds and of course September and October during the harvest time to experience the wine making, right in the cellar where the activity takes place. I enjoy November at harvest and olive oil processing.
Casa Le Pigne is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday with friends and family !

Jérôme GLORIE purchased this Villa in 1999
Why Jérôme GLORIE chose Castellina In Chianti
I love Italy since i'm a teen. The sounds, smells, tastes and flavours, all..., and I discovered Tuscany at 18. An immediate 'coup de foudre'. I come in Castellina for vacations since 42 years now. It was always my dream to buy a house here, in the forest and wild surroundings. I am so happy to stay here, walking around and working hard to grow aromatic plants, harvest and distillate them to produce my organic essential oils. People here are fantastic, helpful, hard and inspired workers.
What makes this Villa unique
The Chianti area: fine wines and good food, The view, the nature, the air, the Magic Cypress Circle, the 10 feet high Mushroom. All the Italian Renaissance culture at your fingertips ! I come here every winter and i adore this season : fresh air, clear light, less people so i can see more wild animals, also the smell of the open fire...

Such a beautiful classic Tuscan villa in a gorgeous location. It is nicely decorated, comfortable, spacious with a well equipped kitchen containing high end appliances. It was large enough for the 6 of us to gather for group activities and to spread out for quiet time. The 360 degree views are unparalleled and can be enjoyed from every room and from the many cozy seating areas outside. Great walking trails are accessible right from the house and allow you to enjoy all that nature has to offer. Staying here was such a relaxing and quiet respite after some busy days touring in Rome and Venice - it was just what we needed.
Castellina is a small town with a lot to offer - good restaurants, local shops, a grocery store, coffee shop/bar, a lovely church and wonderful views. It is a great central location for exploring Tuscany and Florence - it is about halfway between Florence and Sienna as well as 30-45 minutes from San Gimignano, Greve, and Radda.
Jerome was very responsive to all my questions, provided lots of information about the area before our trip, and was quite accommodating of our schedule. We hope to visit Tuscany again and would definitely stay here.
We didn't want to leave
Our family of 7 can't wait to return to this Villa. Jérôme was so wonderful to work with in our planning. When we arrived Filomena had a roaring fire going, a beautiful table set and dinner prepared. Our 2 dogs ran all over the property exploring, and because it was fenced in we didn't have to worry (unless they walked out of the driveway.) It is located between Florence and Sienna which we did as day trips. We also did Pienza and Montepulciano. Don't miss the close town of Castellina, it's amazing. Try out the archery lesson down the road.
Because our first dinner was so good, we had Filomena prepare a second, and it was a delicious wild boar and amazing pasta, greens and apricot tart. We spent evenings drinking delicious Chianti wine by the fire playing games at the large farm table. Perfect place for our traditional Thanksgiving meal cooked in the spacious kitchen and large 6 burner gas stove.
We had large spacious bed rooms and bathrooms. Plenty of space for all of us.
Can't say enough about this beautiful, herb farm villa. Perhaps we'll come in a different season and use the pool!

The property was everything you could want and more
Jerome was most hospitable and accommodating and the villa was fully equipped for an extended stay.
Couldn't be happier or more satisfied
A lovely villa, beautifully situated. Spacious bedrooms. Terrific bathrooms. Airy porches for enjoying the spectacular surrounding gardens or eating outside. Well-located for day trips around Tuscany. Six of us stayed for a week and enjoyed this property thoroughly.
Fantastic tuscan Villa
We had a great holiday at Jerome's lovely farmhouse style Villa. Beautiful and very private grounds, the swimming pool is fantastic and surrounded by flowers. The house itself is furnished beautifully and to a high spec and the kitchen is very well equipped.
The location is great for Florence, Sienna and San Gimignano.
Jerome, the host is welcoming and knowledgeable and there is a housekeeper who can help with any issues.
Overal a great holiday and we would definitely come again.
The Chianti area in Tuscany is world famous for its great 'Chianti classico' wine and delicious food. I suggest booking a wine tasting by Nittardi, just 4km from our home, or at the Fattoria La Ripa for organic wines (5km), and a guided tour of some of the Chianti Classico vineyards and "cantina". Castellina is offering several good restaurants, from one gorgeous (ex) 1 star Michelin to the local tasteful pizzeria. Our nice neighbor (2km) Katharina-Ulrike organise excellent Tuscan cooking lessons in English, German and of course Italian. Her son Fabian is a bow instructor and have a nice and very realistic 3D archery trail. (Chianti3darchery.com). Visiting Monteriggioni, San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena and of course Florence are a must.
