Welcome to San Diego Vista! Enjoy panoramic ocean, city, night light, and bay views from this stunning vacation home in a highly coveted North Pacific Beach neighborhood bordering the Birdrock area of La Jolla. Start your day with a killer espresso at the Turquoise Cafe just a short 10 minute walk away then continue on another half mile to Tourmaline Surf Park beach to catch your morning set (Wavestorm boards provided if you don't bring your own ride). Or maybe you prefer a leisurely stroll through the charming Birdrock area of La Jolla, also just a short one mile walk/bike ride away. So much to choose from just minutes from this beautiful and beautifully situated vacation home.

Our 2,200 sq ft, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home features two expansive decks with amazing views of the surrounding area so you may not even want to venture out. Decorated in a contemporary style, no detail has been left to chance. The main, 500 sq ft deck is perfect for entertaining and features very chic and comfortable furniture from Restoration Hardware, stone dining table with seating for six, a high end natural gas Dacor grill, pyramid patio heater and a natural gas fire table for those cooler, San Diego evenings. Challenge your family members to a game of table tennis on our Kettler aluminum ping pong table. Step inside the slider to our large living room with hardwood floors, large sectional sofa sleeper and 50" HDTV equipped with a media server with hundreds of movies and TV shows at your beck and call.

Our spacious dining area merges seamlessly with our living room for an open, great room feel, and provides ample seating for dining in. The kitchen was remodeled in 2012, features all stainless steel appliances and is fully stocked with everything you could need for your stay. A powder room and laundry area toward the front of the house rounds out the downstairs living area.

Upstairs you will find a massive, 300 sq ft master bedroom suite with its own private, 250 sq ft deck with even better views of the coastline, bay, and cityscape. Stylishly decorate and furnished with a king size bed, this space is a true sanctuary. Down the hall toward the front of the house, two additional bedrooms share the 3rd bathroom. The first bedroom sports a brand new Serta Posturepedic queen bed, while the slightly larger, 3rd bedroom at the front of the house is furnished with 2 full/double size beds. The house comfortably sleeps 8 guests and can accommodate an additional 2 on the sofa sleeper in the living room if needed. Both secondary bedrooms are equipped with 32" HDTVs connected to the whole house media server with access to hundreds of movies and TV shows.

In the garage we have all manner of toys for your visit, including the aforementioned 8' Wavestorm surf board, a 5' Sushi surfboard, 2 Body Glove boogie board, 4 Tommy Bahama beach chairs, beach umbrellas, cooler, Frisbees, and beach bags. For a little indoor fun, throw down the gauntlet and challenge your family to a friendly game of foosball or relive your youth with our retro arcade classics including Asteroids, Joust, Zaxxon, and the true original -- Space Invaders. You can optionally rent our 6 cruiser bicycles to cruise the town in style.

This is truly a magical place in a magnificent area. You won't be disappointed.

Please note that this property is privately owned and managed and primarily offered as a 'family rental'. We tend not rent to groups under 30 years of age (we're happy to discuss it, though). The home is in a fairly quiet neighborhood in North Pacific Beach that is more 'La Jolla Birdrock' than 'Mission/Pacific Beach'. If you are looking for a PB 'party house', look elsewhere.

About Drew Rudman

Having a small family of four that loves the comforts of home when we travel, we have been enamored with vacation rentals for almost two decades and now own three vacation properties, each with something unique to offer our guests. It all started with our mountain property in the Lake Tahoe area which we have been offering since 2000 and hosted hundreds of guests. We added our charming beach bungalow in Santa Barbara in 2013 and that has been such a big hit, we are replicating the effort with this beach area property on the border of North Pacific Beach and La Jolla.

This was actually the first property we looked at when looking for a place in the North Pacific Beach/La Jolla area and the 750 sq ft of decking with panoramic views of the ocean, city, and bay sold us on it immediately. Being walking distance to dozens of cool spots and the beach was just icing on the cake.

What makes this house unique

Being on the border of North Pacific Beach and the Birdrock area of La Jolla gives you the best of both areas. Pacific Beach offers a lot in the way of 'youthful' fun with many bars and restaurants and a crazy assortment of places to hang out and take in the San Diego experience. But if you'd prefer a relaxing stay with a lot of style and culture, just head a few minutes north into the stylish and upscale community of La Jolla and it's amazing village and beaches.

Property was in a good location in a quiet neighborhood. The 80’s arcade was entertaining. Bedrooms were spacious. The master was huge with plenty of closet space. Both deck areas were well appointed. My family and enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

Clean, comfortable and nice location

With family visiting from out of state this house had everything we needed to have a very relaxing time. With the nights getting chilly this time of year we all really enjoyed the fire pit and tall gas heater. We took a walk down to the beach (about 1 1/4 miles down the street). A real nice grocery store is very close. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped which was great because we did a lot of cooking! A couple of negatives would be that the baths could use an upgrade and it really isn't a quiet neighborhood (busy street nearby). There also was construction going on right below the back deck so sitting out there during the day wasn't all that pleasant. I would recommend staying here for a visit to San Diego because of it's great location. The owner was easy to deal with.

Great location and views

The house was perfect for our family vacation. There was ample space for 6 adults and a baby (<2 yrs old). We did need to keep a close eye on the baby with the stairs going up to the bedrooms. The decks had great views of the bay, ocean, and San Diego. We took advantage of the beach accessories to have a couple of fun days on the beach. We found the beach and restaurants to be a short walk.

Great views of San Diego, the bay and ocean.

We had a wonderful family vacation. (6 adults and baby) at the Archer location. We enjoyed the deck views of San Diego, Mission Bay and the ocean. It is a perfect location in a quiet neighborhood, close to the beach/bay. It was a short walk (>.5 mile) to the beach and restaurants. The availability of beach items made for a great day on the beach.

Minimum stays vary depending on days of the week, season, calendar availability, and lead time for arrival. Non-summer, we generally require a minimum 3 night stay over weekends unless we are less than 30 days away from arrival or our other bookings only allow for a shorter stay (we do accept 2 night stays during the week). Summer scheduling centers around arrivals and departures on Friday, with a 6 night minimum if a weekend is involved (we will accommodate 3 or 4 night stays if they end on Friday).

50% of rental cost due at time of booking, balance due 30 days before arrival. Fully refundable $500 damage deposit required with all stays.

Date changes and refunds for cancellations are based on our ability to re-rent your nights.
