We love Santa Margarita and everything this town has to offer!
My family and I couldn't have been more comfortable. We hosted our daughter's wedding at The Ranch and this home was super convenient and spacious. Even our toddler grandson was comfortable here! Enjoyed the quaint, quiet town of Santa Margarita as well as the close by town of San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles and Pismo Beach. Kristin was the perfect host and we will definitely be back!
If I could give it ten stars I would! My family and I spent the Christmas holiday at this beautiful and charming home in Santa Margarita. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The home is gorgeous, clean and stocked with all the amenities you could possibly need and it is pet friendly too! Kristin was awesome to work with as she was fast and friendly with her communications and a pleasure to have met in person. The Muhly's are a sweet family and we will definitely be staying here again and again and again.... Thank you for such a magical Christmas! We look forward to exploring the quaint shops and restaurants in town in the near future!
We greatly enjoyed this large 3 BR 2 BA house when we came for 4 nights when our son graduated from CalPoly. The house was clean and very comfortable in every respect. The kitchen was well equipped. The only reasons I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 are: (1) There was no propane in the tank for the grill and we ended up purchasing a full tank to replace the empty one in order to grill steaks one evening; (2) We had to purchase and replace the batteries in two of the remotes to get the main TV to even come on (one remote had no batteries and the other one had dead batteries). These were relatively small issues but they did detract a bit from our stay. The fenced back yard was very nice for our dog and the neighborhood was wonderfully quiet. Santa Margarita is a cute little town. We had breakfast at the Southern Station twice during our stay and found the food to be hardy and tasty. Santa Margarita is only a 12-minute drive to SLO and is actually a shorter drive time to CalPoly than if we had stayed in some places in SLO. Everything in the house is super-sized....right away we called it the "house of the giants"....the counter tops are high, the master tub and shower are huge, the washer and dryer are large capacity, nearly all the rooms are very spacious...etc.
We have a few suggestions:
(1) Need a lattice or other barrier around the back deck so that pets/children can't go under it. Our dog put his toys under there and we couldn't retrieve them. We didn't want him under there since he is a puppy and gets into everything...we didn't know what he might find and eat under there. We ended up having to have him on the leash when he was in the back yard to keep him from going under the deck.
(2) Need some hooks to hang coats or jackets by the door. There is nowhere in the main room to put purses, backpacks, coats, gloves, umbrellas, hats, etc. after you come in the front door.
(3) Need better lighting in the living room, bedrooms, master bath, etc.....they were quite dark and there aren't many lamps. The lamps and light fixtures that are there were very dim.
(4) Need more furniture in the main room. It is a large room but much of it is empty and is not arranged to seat more than about 4 or 5 people. Some comfy chairs, side tables and lamps would make this room much more usable and pleasant for a group.
We would stay here again and would recommend this house to someone coming to the SLO area.
We got married at the Santa Margarita Ranch and this house was super convenient!! It has a big open kitchen and large master bedroom and bathroom! It was perfect for all us girls to get ready with plenty of room for hair and makeup artists to setup shop! Would highly recommend!
We had a wonderful stay in this very spacious home! It had everything we needed and more. It was very clean and in a safe area. Kristin was quick to answer our questions. I highly recommend it to others and if we find ourselves needing to rent again in this area, we would definitely rent this home again. Our son said he wishes he owned the house!!
We very much enjoyed the property, it was super clean, fully equipped, the owner Kristin was very helpful we really appreciate her for showing up when we needed to get some info, i would definitely recommend it for everyone.
Only minutes away from Santa Margarita Ranch, Ancient Peaks Winery and Margarita Adventures. The Range, one of the best restaurants in the county is just a short walk away. Santa Margarita is located in the heart of wine country. A short 15 minute drive South to the Edna Valley and 15 minutes North to Paso Robles. Take the scenic route over Highway 46 to Cambria and Hearst Castle, or take Highway 41 over to Morro Bay. The house is less than a mile away from the Santa Margarita Ranch, and minutes from other wedding venues including Spanish Oaks, Grace Maralyn and Taft Ranch. Visit favorite Avila Beach or downtown San Luis Obispo.
