Overview

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

We call it our cabin, but it is that and so much more! Take time to view the pictures. . . youwill find a secluded, yet minutes from shopping, home with 2 levels. The walls are covered in beautiful taxidermy all mounted and hung by the original owner. The furniture throughout is hand-designed white pine from right in Glacier Park. The view from the back deck is overlooking a meadow where the elk and deer graze in the evenings. Hummingbirds swoosh and dive over the mountain flowers and the feeder on the deck! Don't sit too close, they will dive down and zip by less than an inch from your eyes! We often cook fresh caught fish on the grill that sits on the deck, open wine and dine with the elk. The front porch has a covered veranda with rocking chairs. Take your morning coffee out and enjoy the pleasure of mother nature waking up. What a humbling experience. Need to get out and explore? 5 minutes will get you to Corum shopping, eateries, and distilleries, Lake 5, the Fun Center, Great Bear Adventure, or guided tours. 10 minutes will get you to Hungry Horse shopping and eateries, West Glacier, Apgar, Lake McDonald, White water rafting, horseback rides, helicopter rides, and more. 15 minutes will get you to Hungry Horse lake, Big Sky Waterslide, and much more. You can also enjoy Flathead Lake, Whitefish Lake, Big Mountain, Lakeside, Big Fork and more. The season just doesn't matter. The weather doesn't matter, either. There is always something to do at our mountain retreat, even if it is just cozying up to the fireplace with a good book. Luckily, the fireplace has a beautiful gas flame...no wood chopping and hauling required. PLEASE CONTACT US ABOUT BLOCKED DAYS AS SOME ARE BLOCKED FOR US AND MAY BE AVAILABLE!

About Dave

We own a family farm on the prairie in the eastern/northern part of Montana. Here, we grow wheat and hunt deer and antelope. We enjoy the beauty of the Sweetgrass Hills.

Dave purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Dave chose Glacier Country

Even though the prairie is beautiful in its own right, we decided we would like to be able to take in the beauty of Glacier Park which sits only 3 hours to our west. It seemed like a shame to be so close to such a gift, and not be able to enjoy it and share it with others.

What makes this cabin unique

Everything changes when we cross over Marias Pass and settle into the mountain cabin. It means wildflowers, campfires, singing, boating, skiing, and amazing steak and seafood dinners on the back deck. Somehow the food just tastes better there. iN THE WINTER...our home is right on snowmobile trailes, snowshoe paths, and close to skiing all at affordable rates and privacy!

Just as advertised on Home Away and frankly the HomeAway description understates the property.

This is a nice, comfortable, well kept place. The location is terrific for West Glacier, Coram, Columbia Falls, Flat Head Lake, etc. It is also a good home base for the east side of GNP with some windshield time. There were five in our party and we had an abundance of space. We would be happy to stay here again.

Wonderful rental cabin near West Glacier

  • 5 of 5

Seven members of our family spent four nights at this cabin and had a great time. There was plenty of space for all of us. We particularly appreciated the close proximity to Glacier National Park. We also enjoyed the front and back porches. We can definitely recommend this rental, and would gladly come back again!

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We needed a comfortable and homey place that was located near Glacier and had easy access to Waterton Lakes National Park, the sister park in Canada. My husband, daughter, and son-in-law were involved in a 5-day cycling bike ride to raise money for Glacier National Park Climate Change Program. Dave's place was a perfect choice and he is great host. My questions were immediately answered and his instructions clear. My sister-in-law and other adult daughter joined us--so we had a crowd. The comfy sleeping arrangements allowed us ample accommodations for everyone and the flexibility to adapt to competing and changing schedules. The kitchen was stocked with the basics-- and a little more. Watching the hummingbirds fight over the feeders was a blast. This place is ideal for people who want to spend quality time with each other and enjoy the nearby National Parks. We BBQ-ed the first night, played dominos the second night on the table in the kitchen, and made Smores the next night in the fire pit. Dave left us a bundle of firewood and instructions on how to make sure we put it out safely. On the days that we were following our bikers, it was nice knowing our temporary home was close by with everything we needed. An added bonus, the stars were amazing! We have great stars where we live but these stars were spectacular.

Close Access to West Glacier and Great Accommodations

  • 5 of 5

Another family plus ours (10 total) stayed at this great cabin in Coram. We were only about 10 minutes from the west entrance of Glacier Park so it was a great location for us to stay for four nights. Plus it was only about 10-15 minutes from Columbia Falls when we needed groceries. The kitchen was super well stocked--even had iron skillets which we love to cook with. They also had everything you needed as far as spices and baking goods. They had some bear spray available which we took with us on hikes and then returned when we didn't use it. The view off the back porch was great, overlooking a meadow. I would suggest adding fans to the rooms as the temps during our stay was very hot with really long days (sunset at 10:15 and sunrise around 5:30) we shut the curtains so not much air could get in at night to keep us cool. We enjoyed our stay in this house and would definitely use it again if we got the chance to go back to Glacier.

Owner's Response: There is a window mounted fan in the upstairs bedroom that usually gets it cool overnight. Thank you Jenny for the input......I will be looking for more fans in the future.

Excellent choice for Glacier NP trip

  • 5 of 5

This cabin made our Glacier NP trip to a great summer vacation. The wild animal skins on walls were amazing, and they made us feel that we were actually living in the woods. The bedrooms were very comfortable and view was great. If we visit Glacier NP again, we will stay in this cabin.

Dave, thank you!

Perfect Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

Our family rented this beautiful cabin for 10 days for our vacation to Glacier National Park and couldn't have asked for a nicer "home away from home". The cabin was clean, nicely decorated, and spacious enough to make our party of 7 very comfortable. Located a short drive away from the park entrance, it was an easy drive back every evening after a full day of hiking and activities. The owners offered helpful advice while we planned our visit and checked to make sure everything was to our satisfaction once we were there. We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay while visiting the park.
