About Cara

We enjoy an active lifestyle with our twin daughters and son, and love the variety of outdoor opportunities all within close proximity of our home. We fell in love with Glacier National Park and the Flathead Valley on our one year anniversary, and decided to make the Flathead Valley our place to one day raise our children. Whether hiking in Glacier National Park or rafting the Flathead River there is no shortage of fun activities. We are pleased to be able to share our home with guests looking to explore the outdoors, or who are just coming for some rest and relaxation.

Our Property Manager, Geri, is available to help you during your stay. She has lived in the Flathead Valley over 20 years and can help you decide where to visit during your stay.

Cara purchased this house in 2014

Why Cara chose Hungry Horse

We love being on the Flathead River! It's peaceful and relaxing no matter the season. In the winter we watch large chunks of ice and snow float downstream, and in the summer we wave to the rafters. We also enjoy watching the wildlife across the river, such as deer, eagles, and birds.

What makes this house unique

Our home is one of the few homes that is riverfront on the way to Glacier National Park.

Guestbook comments from the manager

What and adventure we had enjoying the beauty of Glacier! Everyone we met was lovely. We saw sights we will remember forever. Thank you for making it all possible by opening your home to us! If you are a new guest to the area go to "The Back Room" restaurant in Columbia Falls and get the fry bread! Seriously, go. Now!

Be back soon!

Great vacation home

  • 5 of 5

This is a great vacation home with a beautiful view of the river. Home is very comfortable and located close to Glacier, Whitefish and Kalispell. I'd like to come back this summer and spend more time exploring the area. Thanks Cara for accommodating my family. We didn't make it to Hungry Horse Dam as conditions were icy. Next summer is right around the corner!

My husband and I had an amazing time here. The home was beautiful, comfortable, cozy and had all the amenities you could possibly need. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well-equipped with everything you need to cook a beautiful meal. We enjoyed several fires in the fire pit in a perfect setting overlooking Flathead River. We couldn’t have asked for anything more except more time to enjoy this place. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

everything you could need

  • 5 of 5

This house, situated on the river with a gorgeous view, had everything we could possibly want. The kitchen and bedrooms were very well equipped. From the pizza cutter, to the corkscrew bottle opener, logs for the fire pit, washer/dryer, etc. We wanted for nothing. And, of course, with Glacier NP close by, it was heavenly.
