Located 4 miles from Durango Mountain Resort, the Irma J Ranch is located at 8,700' elevation on 14 acres of aspen/spruce forested land. The large acreage affords lots of room to stroll through alpine forest and take in stunning views of the Hermosa Cliffs, which loom west of the Ranch. The 5 BR, 4 bathroom luxury ranch house was finished July 2014 and has a deluxe kitchen, three fireplaces (one outdoor), expansive deck, and sophisticated flat-screen/stereo systems. The ranch also offers a late 1800s-era cabin that has been completely restored, and has a murphy bed, wood-burning insert in the fireplace, kitchenette with sink, and large flat-screen television with stereo system. Although the cabin does not have a toilet, guests can use the adjacent open-air shower house that is equipped with a flushing toilet.
The Irma J Ranch is a unique blend of modern luxury in the 3,800 square foot ranch-style home, and historic beauty in the turn-of-the-century barn, cabin and other buildings. The IrmaJ Ranch is located one mile from the Needles country store and the Old Schoolhouse Restaurant. It is located only six miles from the Rockwood train station (Durango-Silverton train). The barn has been converted to a three-story saloon for entertaining guests during the summer season. It has seasonal hot and cold running water, a 16' bar, foosball table and tons of charm. The cabin is quaint, with high quality finishing touches. A sauna house and seasonal shower house were built in 2014. A new hot tub was added June 2015. An outdoor movie theatre, projecting to a 10' wide screen on the outside barn wall, provides a novel form of entertainment in the summer/fall evening. The pavilion also has a HD projector, screen and state-of-the-art stereo/PA system. During the summer, on-site activities include horse shoes, kick-ball area and fire pit area. Off-site activities include road biking, mountain biking, hiking, four-wheeling, mountain climbing, train rides, golfing, and visits to area attractions like Silverton (26 miles), Durango (24 miles), and Mesa Verde (42 miles).
