About Suzan Naar

We live in Marietta and have very busy jobs along with a fast paced lifestyle. We wanted a place to get away, relax, yet be able to get work done if necessary. It is great to have a place that seems so far from our city life yet it is so close to Atlanta. We love the change of seasons, mountain views and many activities Blue Ridge provides.

Why Suzan Naar chose Northwest High Country

The soaring ceilings of the great room and the mountain views were what attracted us to this cabin. It is nicely tucked away allowing for seclusion yet close to the Toccoa River for water sports, fishing, fun and close to the quaint town of Blue Ridge for shopping, antiquing, dining, a scenic train ride and much more.

What makes this cabin unique

You will immediately relax enjoying the soaring ceiling of the expansive great room. Upstairs in the master suite, soak in the jetted tub as your friends enjoy the downstairs bedroom and full bath. Gameroom, bedroom and full bathroom in basement.

Great Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Bears Best was a perfect place for a weekend getaway! It had everything we needed and great for our two young boys! The location was nice and far enough away from any main roads. We will be back for sure! Thank you!

Beautiful cabin and great location.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time and totally enjoyed our stay at Bears Best Cabin. The cabin had everything we need or could have asked for. The location is far enough that your in the peace and quiet of the mountains, yet only about 25 from BlueRidge downtown. The cabin was super clean and spacious, comfortable beds, and each bedroom had a bathroom which made it nice. Large kitchen and dining table to fit out group, and loved that they keep the trees cut back a ways to preserve the mountain view off the back porches.

Several have left a note about the driveway, and here is our experience. If it is in the winter with snow or ice you MUST have 4 wheel drive, but that's a no brainer right? in the spring/summer you can manage the driveway. We drove a Honda Minivan up and down it with no problem, you just have to follow the directions they send you and get a running start and your good to go. The cabin is definitely worth the stay you will NOT have any regrets. Super friendly management that goes the extra mile, which is a rarity these days.

Bears Best

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I had a great experience at Bears Best. Suzan (homeowner) was in constant contact with me about my trip. She gave us a lot of recommendations on what to do and where to go, she was great.

Pros:

We had a lot of firewood provided

Cabin was very clean

Jacuzzi was well kept

Ping pong table had all of its gear for us to play

Kitchen had every basic necessity (we love to cook)

As said above, great communication between homeowner and client

Beautiful locations nearby for picture taking and hiking

Cons:

Gravel road makes it difficult for RWD (had to gun up the hill to go back home)

Again, we had a great time here, we wish to stay an extended amount of time next trip. Will definitely keep Suzan in my contact list for my next possible trip.

I will definitely be back!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was all I could have hoped for! Although it is tucked back on the mountain, it does have a slight view which I loved! It is true that you need 4WD or AWD if you want to ever leave the cabin because of the big gravel hill, so luckily we did come in a truck! Overall it was the perfect valentines weekend getaway!

Our dream cabin vacation

  • 5 of 5

We started the tradition of renting a cabin in the mountains every year during Martin Luther King Holiday weekend, and we love it! This cabin was great, it was very clean, very well equipped, the view is very nice and overall we had a magical time! We roasted s'mores on the fire pit, explore the different attractions nearby and relax in this beautiful cabin. We will definitely come back next year. The owner is a pleasure to work with. Thank you for letting us have a wonderful cabin vacation!
