Waikiki is Hawaii's number one tourist destination. The penthouse condo has ocean views and is steps away from Waikiki Beach and has a partial view of the iconic slopes of Diamond Head Crater. It is a short walk to the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Hale Koa and Royal Hawaiian Hotel. Covered parking, wifi internet, and cable television are included.

Nearby are the 500-acre Kapiolani Park, Waikiki Aquarium, Honolulu Zoo and some of Hawaii’s finest restaurants and hottest nightspots. It beckons a slower time, listening to Hawaiian music and enjoying a cocktail from the expansive wrap-around lanai. Great location in Waikiki

Very central spot in Waikiki and suited our family well. The kitchen was well equipped with modern appliances, open plan living area was spacious, and the two bathrooms were ideal. Wrap around deck had great views and we were able to see a live cultural performance on Lewers Street and a protest outside the Trump Hotel! Having a carpark in this area was a huge benefit also.

The elevator was having issues when we arrived but Mark did his best to get it fixed in about an hour and we had no further problems. We felt that some maintenance is required in the apartment and but the place was relatively clean. Mark was very helpful and even mailed some lost property back to us after our departure. Thanks you for having us!

Clean but very outdated

We stayed at this condo Feb15-24 2017 and we had a group of eight people the space was wonderful (except the kitchen is tiny) and the balcony was great the bed out there is heaven but it needs to be updated badly the bathrooms are pretty scary (I showered at my parents hotel room) we had fans in the hallway pointed in the bedroom as there is no air conditioning in the bedrooms only the living room so they got pretty warm! Overall it works for big groups as the space is very big but I wouldn't stay there again unless it gets updated.

Owner's Response: We value the feedback we get, and would like to add a few points: 1) Our 1960 built penthouse is a unique and affordable property that is the only unit on the top floor of the building and has wrap around lanai and jalousie windows (louvered), fans in bedrooms, and a split A/C serving the kitchen, dining room, living room and other rooms when doors are open; 2) We clearly prefer up to six guests, but on occasion allow requests for up to 8 guests, particularly for families; 3) Since purchasing our home in 2014, we have planned to upgrade the penthouse - and this year we hired a noted local architect to lead the architectural redesign including structural, electrical improvements, a new kitchen and refurbished bedrooms and bathrooms. The plan is for upgrades to occur in March of 2018. As plans progress, we'll make these available on the main web pages of this site. Aloha, Mark and Hitomi

Lovely clean home

We were a family of five adults. Enjoyed our stay very much. Loved the washer and dryer, very convenient location close to everything, food, beach, shops. Clean and tidy home, loved the living/dining area. Plenty of towels and supplies stocked up. Free wifi was great. Good Books for the book lovers. Aircon was great. Loved having the whole top floor to ourselves. Negative was the 14 stairs we had to climb when we arrived with all our luggage (10 bags/suitcases) and again when we left but otherwise we didn't mind it so much. Thanks for a memorable stay.

"Birthday Getaway with lots of R & R"

Location of Niihau Apartments was absolutely amazing! We were close to everything. Actual condo was beautiful, fully furnished, and well equipped. It was so comfortable, cosy, clean, accommodating, with a beautiful ambience. Being on the 11th floor gave us a wonderful view of Waikiki, the beach to the left and the high rises to the right.. great place to chill and relax.

I would definitely recommend this place to any family visiting Waikiki, so much space, a home away from home, no hotel hustle and bustle, just calm and peaceful.

This 3bedroom condo was greatly appreciated, thank you so much. Until next time, mahalo..

Great Condo with a Great Location

We stayed in Mark's condo over the holiday and fully enjoyed our time there. When we arrived it was very clean and ready for our stay. Mark was very responsive to the couple of questions that we had, overall very positive experience.

The condo itself is large with great views, and the location is perfect. We were able to walk a couple minutes down to the beach, to restaurants, pickup spots for tours, and ABC stores. Highly recommend staying here if you can.

A good holiday

We had a great time (who wouldn't, it was Hawaii).

The place was really nice to stay in, the two colour TVs were good for relaxation time.

The beds were comfortable.

It was perfectly clean.

There were beach stuff, heaps of towels.

They had many many TV stations and books.

Mark, the owner was extremely helpful and generous.

The outdoor under cover area is on two sides, so that you can be in sun or shade - whichever you prefer depending on the time of the day.

The washing machine and dryer and kitchen stuff were great.

There was an air conditioner that was helpful in the main area, but most of the time (especially at night) we had the windows open with the nice cool breeze flowing through the place.

It was great to have wifi and phone for local calls (this meant we could use our phones from Australia, without the need for local sim cards).

The neighbours on other levels were really nice.

It was 150 metres from Bills Sydney (amazing food, especially the Ricotta Hotcakes).

Harry's Place across the road for amazing sorbet and ice cream is a must (everyday)

The ABC store in the street behind sells Dole Whip (amazing).

It was also a great location for easy access to most things in Waikiki.

The (minor) negatives:

1. The stairs from the lift to the apartment, having to walk up a floor through the stair well was hard with a pram etc. This was in the information, we were expecting this.

2. We could only find one small tray for use in the enormous oven (it affected us for one meal).

3. Sometimes, someone would be parked our car park (but they would always leave a note and move quickly when asked).
